"a moment of pain is worth a lifetime of glory" this quote made me so inspired when his brother said this
my thoughts exactly
Tyler i showed that quote on the big screen in my village, all the peoole that came said they never been this motivated.
4 years later im still watching it because of that quote
Great word's
yea
Already 45 minutes into this film, it's already one of my favorite films I've seen.
Kanye East cheers for being an arsenal fan ;) hahaha (Y)
One of the best films I've watched, which is rare these days.
There are very few directors in this current generation that impress me, but I do love the works of Refn, PTA, Fincher, etc.
Kanye East I'll have to look some of them up. I'm on the search for another great film lol!
There Will Be Blood abd Drive come to mind. Whiplash is also a really good film.
Angelina Jolie debut movie as a director.. she done a good job..!!
That's not her debut movie as a director, she did In the Land of Blood and Honey before
@Andjela Djuricic Indeed :)
@Colonel Of the 82nd Airborne oh stfu
@@sashafire1987 not to burst your bubble but Unbroken came first before First They Killed my Father
@Colonel Of the 82nd Airborne Doesn't look like a war movie. Prisoner movie, human spirit type deal. Like Stallone in Escape to Victory. War is the backdrop but it could be The Longest Yard (1974) without that war backdrop.
R.I.P Louis Zamperini who has just passed away at the age of 97.
Collin Taylor lived a long and interesting life 😪

Total Respect.
Italia/Gianluca
If Louis didnt make it to heaven, no one's goin! ❤🙏☺
Rest In Peace Louie Zamperini ❤️😭
Why spoil the end of the movie :(
gahh i'm so proud of how far he's come from skins. he's such a good actor.
he made skins better with his strong acting skills ♡♡ I adore him
Watch 'Godless' on Netflix - Jack O'Connell was amazing!
Watch Trial By Fire on Netflix 😭 another amazing movie by Jack O'connell

This movie is supposed to be INSPIRING. It doesn't matter if he's American or British or Kenyan or Dutch, the point is we're supposed to be inspired by his never-say die attitude and his fearlessness.
This is not inspiring at all. Piece of shit

What a movie, i watched this months ago and now i wish i could erase it from my memory then watch over and over

+Momen Akod I agree too!! AN AMAZING MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!
We all owe our respect to Louis. My teacher read Unbroken to us in class, and it was very hard to listen to at certain points. The fact that Louis mentally survived, after all that he was put through is just incredible. Louis Zamperini is my life long hero
Hopefully he addressed the tribal indoctrination process and how we get to that point.
I was lucky enough to be an extra in this film and work alongside Angelina Jolie and Jack O'Connell. I am honoured to be a part of Louis Zamperini's heroic story. Please see this film for what it is: a story based on the courage and resilience of Louis and his fellow soldiers. It doesn't matter whether he was American, British, Australian or Swedish, what matters is the courage that he showed and how he was able to fight through the darkest of times. R.I.P. Louis Zamperini, may your soul be at rest. Thank you for inspiring so many others.
Some people are just so unbelievable to unlike a movie based on true events. This movie teaches a lesson on how strong a human being can really be. How can it not be appreciated? Well, I don't know, people have their own creative minds and probably thought ....idk...
Ikr. They're probably just jealous honestly. As twisted as that sounds, people can be. :(
My great grandad was a prisoner of war and was sent to a prison camp In Japan, this film really hit home
is it a good movie?
+kelis khalisadar Yes, it is. DEFINITELY!! Go watch it.
+Chl03 Wow, are you serious!?
The fact the real Zamperini actually got to see this the year of his death seems almost not a coincidence, like his last year of his life showed him how much he was appreciated and how his name will carry on in history
One of the best movies I have ever seen.
Same
good
I've seen another movie similar as this, but it's about a Japanese guy, and he didn't want to fight, but they forced him too with his brother, and he was also a runner as well, but then he goes from Japan, to Russian military, then to German and it ends in D-Day when they were in the shores and the brother dies and they get captured, and at the end he starts to run for Olympics
The best scene "if he drops it shoot him"
have you seen My Way?
Can't believe how far Mr Jack O'Connell has come. From jack-the-lad Cook in an E4 show to Louis Zamperini in an Angelina Jolie directed movie. Amazing. Hope he goes far. A true homegrown British talent.
He is amazing, I hope he gets a nomination for the Academy Award.
Being a fellow runner myself, the beginning of this movie was absolutely amazing. Then, he got drafted. I was furious on how they didn't continue with his running career, but as I kept watching, I started to fall deeper and deeper into the pain this man felt. This movie injects history into the story behind his life. I recommend this movie HIGHLY to ANY person. I feel as if though anyone will enjoy this extraordinary film 10/10
+Emily Parenteau he did not get drafted they changed that he really joined as an airman
+Sloan Sentell "They changed that?" What do you mean? They changed the story?
the movie they made it seem like he was drafted but he actually joined
+Sloan Sentell Oh thank you for the clarification :)
+Emily Parenteau
Dude, this is a real story. It's not a fictional one.
Lauren Hillenbrand made the biography for Louis Zampernini, the biography is what the movie is based off of.
This film deserves an Oscar
This movie is not about race or nationality. It's about the human spirit and will. Those people that fought those wars for whatever reason they fought are not us, and their reasons for fighting are long gone. I'm an American. My father fought in the war. But I love the Japanese culture and art, have Japanese friends and married a German girl. We are not those people. Let's not repeat their mistakes and suffer their misfortune.
amen to that , I know that it's not our mistake and we shouldn't repeat the history , but this generation should stop discriminating each other over what the war generation did , and america is not all innocent like some clam she is as guilty as any other nation , so lets stop all this discriminating and fix their mistakes not repeat them , Lets Hope Israel come to 2014 and stops their inhuman attacks on Gaza too -_-
Smartest comment I have red so far..... read our History and learn from it....
hidralisk95 What? Can you try that again in English?
Sadly we have been repeating their mistakes. I agree with you though.
Hey Joe.. I couldn´t have said that any better I only wish that our politicians could see it as wisely as some of us do.... peace.
I am so proud of Jack for coming this far since his days on Skins as cook he is absolutely such a precious human being
Is there anyone who wants to actually see the movie because of the inspirational true story and not because Miyavi led them here?
Yes! - I'm glad I'm not the only one...
I'm here because I read the book and I loved it.
Meagan Power same
I discovered this movie when I was looking for good movies, in summer. I've wanted to watch this movie ever since, and finally it's coming out tomorrow
My reading teacher in school showed us the trailer in class
this movie won already! it won our hearts to God , our hearts to love and reminded that forgiveness is the most beautiful thing of all because it has its roots in LOVE..thank u all for this flower so well smelling! God bless u all so much forever!
“The suffering of this present time is not worth comparing to the magnitude of glory that’s going to be revealed in us” Romans 8:18
Jack O'Connell is a fantastic actor and it is great to see his career rising.
A definite watch this Christmas.
So proud and privileged to have met him in person. Go Torrance! RIP Lois Zamperini
Just saw this movie on Netflix 2023. I'm speechless, not only was the film beautifully made but the story was beyond compelling. Wow, 10/10
"Don't look at me. " Every time i heard this words I got broken twice.
Miyavi killed that villainous role!
This is the best Movie I ever watched in my entire life....( and I have watched tons of movies from all around the world) best decision ever.... Please watch it if you haven't!!!! Go go go!!!

@@giannisampo4377 that's not a movie lol. That's a documentary.
Oh Well shiii
Mr Zamperini is my new favorite American hero...Unbelievable life...
There's no such thing as American hero,
USA == murderers
The difference between Japan and USA
is that Japan fight with the USA army
and USA army killed Japan civil people.
USA did not fight in any war face-to-face,
they killed civil people and create chaos.
Well he slapped hos wife several times. But yea, he cool. Rip to him, he had a difficult but memorable life
@@Ioan190 still that struggle was worth ❤
@@Ioan190 wow thats kinda true. but yet movie is great
@loan190 Who gonna tell him?
These comments are pathetic. This movie was not made to glorify the US or make Japan look bad, it was made to tell how Louie survived. If all you got from this trailer is that America is bad, then there is something wrong with you. I am American, and guess what, I know my country has made mistakes, but you want to know something else? Every country has. Every person has. Don't let the actions of a few corrupt soldiers shape your views of an entire country. Don't take such an inspirational movie like this and ruin it by turning it into something it's not. I read this book, and it was amazing. They wanted to keep it PG-13, so you won't even know some of the crap he went through unless you read the book. Now let's all grow up and stop insulting other countries. With your insults, you are accomplishing nothing except for making your own country look arrogant and stupid. I'm not going to say the US is the best country in the world, but it is not nearly as bad as what many of you are saying.
PREACH
Well said !!!
*****
It means that anyone on this planet with no experience and has nothing to do with the second world of war, cant speak for their country or the world like they have been there. It also means that the film is about how Louie survived and why some comments on this youtube channel are something else then how Louie survived. Mabey frustration or something else, it just has nothing to do with how Louie survived. 1+1 = 2, country = human society. And the film unbroken = Is about how Louie might have survived in hes time.
It's about the faith, character, will and triumph of the human spirit, if u r not happy cause the main character is American become a director and produce ur own film !
U right. I am very agree with you. I am not an american but i found this movie very inspirational and sad at the same time :"(
I've seen a lot of war movies in my life, like a lot. But this one really left me speechless. I bought the book the day after I saw the movie, feeling totally overwhelmed with how strong a human being could be. How much they could endure without dying. I felt the book was life-changing and a lot like the movie. They did the book proud. But Jack really played a wonderful Louie. I love that the kid who played him also really looked like him. But mostly, this movie ( and book ) taught me not to whine about my own life as much. It taught me that I can take much more than I thought I could. When my nephew was born my brother told him he named him Louis. I instantly thought of Louis Zamperini and I love that I can make that association. This movie is a must-see for everyone who wants to be overwhelmed by the strength of the human spirit. I loved every minute of it.
Amazing movie! Jack O'connell and Miyavi did a great job at acting and Angie was an awesome director!😍 This story is heartbreaking & makes you happy at the same time!
I have to said it: I'm here just for Miyavi. Yes, the asian guy who speak in the trailer.
from skins to a hollywood movie, mint career
more like from This Is England to a Hollywood film
What's skins?
If there is one thing you should take away from this 11/10 masterpiece, it is to never let any person, situation, or object cripple and halt your efforts from reaching your ultimate goal.
Got the chills while watching this 😢

I never watch these kind of inspirational movies but this one actually looks surprisingly nice.
Can we just ask ourselves on why a ton of trolls somehow think that America is the worst country in the world? Apparently it's filled with rude people and crime rates are high and what other shit people say. Let me just say that first of all, I admit that it's not the most polite country in the world, but we aren't that rude. And crime rates? Let me just tell u that in a lot of places you can't even go out after 9 pm otherwise you might get robbed and such. Or even places like Japan, who label the majority of their murders as suicides. I'm not trying to offend anyone, but would people please stop blaming America for everything? It makes me sick.
who says america is rude? lol new york city and los angeles are rude, america is insanely friendly- everyone's always waving at me, asking me how i'm doing, and i have never met them before
you smell so japanese but not japanese . Please , come to usa and see what happen here , dont look it on internet , come here you will see a big different !
I'm not japanese I'm american
America nowadays sucks and I'm american once the 1990s happened our country just died
thank you I'm American as well but I got Cherokee/Scot/German blood in me as well. I mean they don't call us the melting pot for nothing.
The part of this movie that affected me the most was seeing him at 80 running in the Japan Olympics. After everything that happened to him, he did not let it consume him. He did not let the hatred consume him. He even tried to meet up with "The Bird" later on. He knew something about life that most never learn.
@@bruceman9581 Read the book for the reason.
The book is amazinggg
The book talks about his spiral into depression and alcoholism after returning to the US, due to PTSD from his time in the POW camp. His wife takes him to a Billy Graham tent revival one night, and he remembers his promise in the raft and begins to follow God. For the rest of his life he was an evangelist and motivational speaker.
True Winner for meaningful and precious life.
Watch “ To End All Wars” (2001) I believe it’s a superior Japanese pow movie .. it stars Keifer Sutherland and Robert Carlyle . It’s on youtube as well
Can we move past the whole I hate America thing? I'm here because this movie looks really touching and it is a true story. I think it's fine if you don't like America. And I think it's fine if you do. It's getting kind of old now. Everyone is here talking about how they hate war and it's pointless while you guys are starting a war between countries. And before people start bashing me about how America sucks, I'm Canadian. And grow up geez. It's 2014.
IraqiFreedomFighter good for them. It's not that I don't care, but it's because of people like you that wars start. and edward guillen calm down.
Anita dont tell me to calm down
edward guillen Sir, put the little boy down and come quietly.
Please watch the movie. Me and my family were close to Louis, and his story is amazing. I want everyone to know his story. I also hate all the people who call this "propaganda", same with Lone Survivor
IraqiFreedomFighter Lol I just reread this and saw that you called me white scum. Laughing because I'm not white. At all.
The book was beyond awesome. Hope the movie is as well !!!!
Can I ask you what's the title of the book?
Unbroken by Laura Hildebrandt. Not sure of spelling on last name
***** Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption
Thank you both Jeff Cobb and fpoon36 for the help!! :) :) :)
“If you can take it, you can make it.”
I’ve listened to this quote many a times but this movie taught me its real meaning.!!
I can SMELL AN OSCAR IN HERE!!!!!
Amazing movie, heartbreaking & truly no words to describe of how amazing it was Louis Zamperini as a person & as a giver of HOPE & POSITIVISM.
Why the hell do I have to see an ad before I watch a 3-minute ad?
Because this isnt just an ad, this is more then just that.
]
This movie is best remembered for "A moment of pain is worth a lifetime of glory."
Never loose hope when u r in a worst situation ...everything will pass soon ...just pray God to endure that difficult situation...It makes us more stronger and more powerful...and never live in a fear and enjoy every moment of life
..love your life coz life is more precious
By far the most inspiring movie i've ever seen, and i'm a guy who watches ALOT of movies. Definitely recommended! 10/10
I just saw the movie and all i can say is wow! This movie is unforgettable and will most likely become a real classic. It has the same qualities as movie classics like Deer hunter, Dances with wolves, Legends of the fall, Forest Gump and such. I was really moved by this movie. Great job Angelina and all the other people involved in this project!
This movie has negative reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. But I still watched it and it was great! I totally recommend it to you guys. 8.5/10
Rotten Tomaties and Metacritic are a pile of shit that's why.
Jack O'Connell is an incredible actor. About time he spread his wings into other things. :)
I can't believe cook from skins did such an amazing American accent
Right?! It’s unbelievable
Such a beautiful film. I was a little sad that they didn't show his battle after he got home. He went through alcoholism, depression and he beat his wife because what The Bird did to him, kept his mind in constant stress until he became rooted with religion.
I guess they just want people to see him returning home safely
was that from the book?
Seth Pisano how do you know ?? where did you get thia information from ?
em goh read the book
Seth Pisano Mutsuhiro scared me in the book...
I just finished the book and I'm about to watch the movie. The book was beyond belief.
+Zack Johnston same as the movie, unbroken
there's another much better book that was actually written by the Louie Z. called Devil At My Heels
Katelyn b4 I read the book before watching the movie so it ruined the film for me but still a good film. The book was just outstanding!
I watched it a while ago and that movie stayed with me a long time. It's really inspired me and I felt for him how he's been through. And also Jack did the great acting skills. That made me feel like I'm in the real incident.
this movie really took my breath away. I watched it just for fun and it wasnt until the end of the movie that I learned it was a true story. Truly a masterpiece
Damn, jack's going places. Always knew he had the potential to rise high
It's one of the best movies I've come across. That's how you live. Unbroken. It taught me a lot and I hope to live unbroken.
OMG it's cook from skins 😭😭 the feels bro the feels...
Hahaha yessss
Miyavi is the only reason I would watch it.
Jack O'Connell in this film is superb because he seems a completely different person, the first time I saw him I thought he wasn't the same actor because of the dyeing hair and the accent, and then I saw he was british, so he does an amazing job not just acting, which is brilliant, also with the accent, you can't hear any whisper of his thick accent. I fell in love with him in this movie and then I watched Starred Up and '71 and wow! every film I see of him leaves me speechless. He's so underrated, in my honest opinion he's one the best uprising actors nowadays, hopefully the time will give him the success he deserves.
R.I.P Louis Zamperini went through a lot and still kept fighting til the end 🙇🏽♂️🌺❤️
This film looks great but yet again i feel they showed way to much in the trailer.
The book was 1000+ pages! believe me when I say that I expect at least 2 and a half hours for the movie
ill have to read the book aha
vZ BBG Clan The book was 496 pages...
Ryan Pugh the Book is Awesome..You need to read it..it will move your emotions...very much so..this man & others went through so much, you wouldn't believe it.
some people will never be satisfied
Best movie ever, inspired other people , don’t give up , hope, love , future . Can’t wait to see second unbroken redemption!
Seams like beside acting Angelina Jolie has some serious skills at directing !
I saw this trailer when I was 13 years ago and have been looking for the name of it for 5 years. Finally found it.
Unbroken is the story of Louis Zamperini an Olympian who spends a harrowing 47 days in a raft with two fellow crewmen before he's caught by the Japanese navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp.
I have to admit this film got me. I didn't think i would fall for the sentimentality , director Angelina Jolie smothered this film with , but i did.
It is an amazing story and Jack O'Connell is ever so impressive in the lead role.
The ending is very emotional and Louis Zamperini deserves such a glowing tribute.

sakurakou2009 how about they make a movie about the Japanese killing approximately 3.9 million Chinese, mostly civilians, as a direct result of the Japanese operations
Also i wonder if anyone is going make a movie about Laha massacre, Bangka Island massacre, Palawan Massacre, Bataan Death March, or about Shinyo Maru Incident

+Starry&Bohemian Btw, thanks for being able to respectfully contradict/challenge my comment. You weren't rude at all and that means a lot!
Leah Branford True that i'm not always sweet as honey in diplomacy ... sure there's worst movies ... so this movie is the best that you've seen until now... i understand this fact.

I love this movie because it's really teach us many things..I was sad at the moment when their friend died in the ocean.
IKR! I cried during some of the running scenes at the beginning, but then when their friend died I LOST it. And it only got worse when he entered the POW camp. After that, I was crying for basically the rest of the movie.

This was one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. The message of this movie is very universal - the strongest people have the strongest minds.
After watching this movie, I see my own pain incomparable to Louie's. If you're looking for inspiration, this is the movie for you. Cheers !

But honestly... Miyavi has a sexy Engrish accent.
Oh gawd my heart melts when I see him in this trailer.
Literal goosebumps. Thank you to everyone who made this movie and thanks to Louis for being an inspiration for everyone. Louis will never be forgotten.
A very great story that everyone must treasure. It does'nt only reminds us from the fresh scars brought by the tragic war but also how it has made a great history in the human race. In other words, the main role represents the entire people that were involved of how much they've sacrificed for their country, of how much they've fought for the future and of how much they've not lose hope for freedom and peace. Through this film, we must come to realize that we should continue what they've had achieved.
-a gratitude for the owner of the story...
This movie was so great! Loved every second of it! So inspirational & so motivating! Everyone needs to watch this movie sends great messages! 👌
Fun fact: the actor playing Louis Zamperini also played Paddy Mayne, co founder and commanding officer of the original SAS in the North African campaign and Greece in WW2
At the end of this movie.. and seeing the real Loui run with the olympic fire in Japan.. made me tear up. Damn.. my problems in life are nothing compared to his life..
He is everything man should be, considerate, positive, loyal, brave, strong, awesome. He cared about his friends and just wowowowoow First time in a while that I watched such an interesting movie. He is very cool lol I saw how he got skinny as time passed, sad, sad movie. Please watch it
If you liked this movie you will like another version of Louis’s life - Unbroken Path To Redemption Movie. It was so good!

Jack is such a great actor.
I'm already hooked from the trailer. Omg, this looks amazing.
RIP real Louis Zamperini. Yeah this movie and the book is based on real life and that cruel Japanese guard was real too but he died in April 2003.
tracy fae fanged he wasn't cruel you got to think from his point of view he was born and raised in japan w.e they do he think is right so he thinks the Americans are bad thats why yrs later he didnt think he deserved louies forgiveness
You have no idea how much I cried watching this movie.
To all the people saying this movie looks like it's propaganda or trying to hard to be inspirational, read the book. What that man went through is truly inspiring.
Why is everyone giving this movie shit, i think it looks fuckin sick
One of the best films I've ever watched, which is rare these days.
"I AM COOK!!!!"
2:20 always gives me the chills
This is one of my fav movies of all time.
He's mental strength is crazy.... it's like he's being built different, literally. I have so much respect for him, for the torture and hardship he endures. Not only he survives in piece, his mental is also intact. Probably the strongest person I have ever known.
People back then were really something else. Makes me feel bad for complaining over trivial matters...
The best thing is THAT IT IS A TRUE STORY 🥹🥹🥹
Really interested how Angelina Jolie has directed this. From the trailer it seems like it's a great movie. But we have to wait and see.
One of the Greatest Movies ever to be made
Angelina, this is going to be an amazing film to see, and I'm so happy to see Miyavi in what I reckon is his first film role. I hope you had a lot of opportunity to hear him play guitar as well, because he's amaaaaaaaaazing at it.
