if you are getting massive packet loss, and if the wires leading up to your router are damaged, you can check check this in the router's 'optical information' tab where it tells you if something is out of the regular working range.
I got a c on the debloat. I have a nighthawk router and 1gb upload and download. On the debloat test my unloaded ms was 14 and +13 for download and +69 for upload. Is the router really at fault
I have 2gb down and up. I had to uninstall my realtek drivers because my upload speed was cut it half lol. Maybe these steps are only for 1gb and lower.
The benefits of hardwiring to a wifi extender can be if a device doesn't have 5g you can connect the extender to 5g and force 5g through an ethernet hardline to the extender. I do this for my ps3.
I got a NETGEAR - Nighthawk AX4200 and surfboard and still my bufferbloat grade is C. Could it not be my hardware but my ISP throttling me ? I also have never seen you use TCP optimizer. Do you not think it is worth it ?
Yo, since 1 week my uploadlatency is on 180ms on waveform speedtest and I cant fix it:/ Fresh install windows multiple times, reset router, switching from fibre to dsl, tried different drivers and nothing helped. When I run the speedtest on my mobile its perfectly fine, uploadlatency sitting on 10ms any ideas?
how much better is an external intel internet adapter than a regular network adapter from realtek?and how noticeable is the difference in the latency when changing?
Personally get a WiFi extender that has a Ethernet port & plug that into your pc. Setup is basically easy & once you set up the WiFi to your router… just disconnect the Ethernet cable from the pc & put it back in. then you can disable Bluetooth & WiFi. I went from 2mbps all the way to 1.0gb speed. When running a speed test I went from 30 to 160 upload Download is 25mbps. the closer you are to your router the better. downstairs i get 800mpbs & better. but i can’t put my pc downstairs so gg lol

Yo @Xilly, what about autotuning and disabling it in cmd? I have B with modem+my router Asus RT-AX55 connection and when I disable autotuning with cmd "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled" it gives me A+ and 1ms latency on upload/download at max, but sometimes I feel like it gives me some backtracks in actual game. Should I rock this disabled or normal and find solutions somewhere else?
@@devinooz I agree with the author of the comment, it gives me an insanely low latency, but in the game it's like they see me in advance, rather than me. But the damage goes fine, I don't know what the problem is. With the function turned off, I have 30 Mbps, and with the normal 110 Mbps. How are you doing?
@@kingcobra9984 i tried it, but it made my download speeds go down to my upload (which was around 40) and it overall just messed up my internet so i use default

Do you know why my mate gets better ping when his ethernet speed is capped at 100 mbps when mine is 1 gb, 10x better internet speeds with direct ethernet connection and we live half a mile away from eachother?
different isp maybe? Maybe your router is struggling to keep up with the 1gbps speeds. When the router can't keep up with the speed it creates bufferbloat which will impact ping. Look up OpenWRT firmware for your router and look into using the SQM settings in it. You can also use this command, "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled" which will lower your speed by quite a lot but will also stop most if not all bufferbloat. The speed difference shouldn't be noticable when even watching 8k video so you will be fine with the slower speed.
I got the tp-link archer c6 v2 installed openwrt firmware and got Qos package giving the priorty to my pc ip address guys i never saw an A grade bufferbloat i swear it's always A+ you don't need to buy expensive router don't let them fool you btw this router cost around 25$ 😅
Its a good thing you charge people money, just to tell them to "try & max it out". Can't believe you charge people money & can't help them because they don't have the same system you have... lol
ethernet optimization aint gonna change that much.. since its already so fast.. but it's nice to do to get that extra 5% wifi optimization is the one usually noticable on daily normal user use.. since it could vary from 70mbps to 1000+ depends on setting and hardware 1gbps ethernet to 10gbps aint gonna noticable unless u using that for a high speed nas or something crazy like that
Receive Buffers should not be set below 256, as this may cause packet loss. Transmit Buffers must be set to 2 x RB = Rx:256 / Tx:512. Or Rx:512 / Tx:1024 etc. There are also quite a lot to set via CMD or PowerShell or Terminal. If the ipconfig settings, netsh settings etc. are incorrect, the NIC settings maybe doesn't make any difference. Oh, and make sure your modem is not equipped with Intel's Puma 6/7 SoC. If it is, it could ruin all the effort you put into optimizing your network. And I agree, don't waste your money on the so-called "gaming routers". The high price and sexy design is not worth it. There are excellent SQM compatible routers on the market for a small amount of money. For example, I have a NanoPi R4S router with OpenWRT software. I paid €85 for it and it eliminates buffer bloating better than, for example, gaming routers with DumaOS.
