    I have zero doubt that this will not work, great video.

    Thank you so much!
    I have a Cort X-11 that I bought in pretty bad condition, always had issues with the bridge.
    Turns out the previous owner must have not pressed the whammy bar down when adjusting the action,
    because the screws had very deep cuts in them.
    I did everything just like you in this video, and it works like a charm!
    When I am doing divebombs, the tuning doesn't change at all, however when I'm pulling the bar the other way,
    the strings still go out of pitch a little bit, but it fixes itself when I press the bar down afterwards.
    I could not acquire the kind of lubricant you used in this video, so instead I used WD-40.
    Maybe quality lubricant would fix this minor issue.
    Advice for people trying this: If you change your strings doing the procedure, stretch them properly!
    Heman Li from Dragonforce has a video on RUclips about setting up a Floyd Rose, it may be helpful.

    This is good news. I have an original Floyd from 1988 that actually has Original stamped on it when the new originals don't so I'd like to keep the baseplate as long as possible. I might even go so far as to drop a weld blob on both knifes, grind it down, chuck it in a Bridgeport with a bevel cutter to return to factory profile, then shove it in a forge until it gets cherry red and quench in oil.
    I'd only do that if there were no new baseplates available though, too much hassle

    Excellent video man 👍 I have two old trem systems that I jacked up through the years. I replaced with new ones. One is a Schaller Floyd Rose and the other is a Wilkinson bridge. Thank you for sharing this. I always wondered if these could be repaired.

    Nice video buddy. I have huge problems with an edge3 ibanez tremolo. And I fixed new knives following your video using a diamond file. Being a mechanical engineer just realised something when I finished it. The knives should be hardened steel so theoretically can't file them. If you could file them so easy it means that the knives are not suitable for the job and the heat treatment on them is rubbish. So sooner or later we will have the same problem...... Just my thoughts....

      I just did this on my ibanez jem with japanese made lo pro tremolo. Top of the line.
      It got out the burrs, therefore you can sharpen them.

    Cool deal. I’d like to know the Rockwell hardness number for the original Floyd, the 1000 & the special. I’m sure the special is much softer.

    Thanks for the video! I have a question. What if I don't have a drill for sanding the studs? Will sandpapers and files work too? Thanks!

    • @ericctheartofnoise8613
      @ericctheartofnoise8613  2 года назад +1

      Light grit sandpaper will do. Files may cut the metal.

    • @natedogg319
      @natedogg319 2 года назад +1

      Find someone with a drill and offer them a beer to let you use it. This process is so much more precise with a drill. Alternatively stand on a ladder with said file over a friend holding stud in extended arms over their head. Have them spin, but don't get dizzy.

    Hi , why are the old posts for the low pro edge better than the ones Ibanez uses now?

    • @ericctheartofnoise8613
      @ericctheartofnoise8613  2 года назад +1

      Material that older posts are made of are not the same as the newer posts. In some cases, the metal is a lower quality and can ware faster. Parts being made in China are not the same quality as German or US. I have seen a lot of older trems that are in better shape then newer ones.
