I bet. My tour guide was excellent as well. His family is from the area so he knows it very well. Thank you for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed the video,

I Australian Loved Laura more than Oaks Briar Rabbit written by a slave who lived here l was told. Laura) Much better tour Oaks terrible tour. Saw 3 rooms of house and rushed through rooms. Laura fascinating
That map was really a visual eye opener. You see why the South did not want to give up slavery. It was an economic winner if you had the right pigmentation. There's a special place in hell for every slave owner and person who supported it. Plantations are one of the ugliest places in the world as far as I'm concerned. Sleeping in a slave shack next to this house. I have no words. I like the respectful way you film your videos on this topic. Thank you..
I worked offshore in Morgan City, Louisiana and passed many of these Plantation Houses along the way..i hear There is an Island with the Tabasco plantation still working….You can stay there….it’s a bnb .
That sounds amazing and worth documenting. Ill look it up. Please feel free to share the link if you have time. Thanm you Beverly for this. I hope youll support the channel by Subscribing and sharing the videos. I have more videos on the channel. Thank you so much.
250k wouldn't even buy me a house here 💀 Love the details though, I love it when they set the tables and make the beds and let the building show the aging over time. I'm really genuinely surprised you were able to touch the brick etc given how much degradation human skin causes to stuff like that.
Well that’s interesting the French Creoles must have looked for French speaking slaves,,,, I never thought of that or heard it. I’m glad I was not born in those times.
It’s crazy seeing all those yt people on the tour and no black people we should be the ones and only ones touring so we could see and learn more about what happened to “our” ancestors
Agree and disagree. Too many memories of the horrific brutality perpetrated against black people. I enjoy learning the history of our ancestors, but many don’t.
I agree, but also this can be extremely painful and traumatizing for black people. Everyone else gets to take these tours and not experience the pain that we feel because their ancestors weren't enslaved and abused. I've read of some very saddening reactions to black people touring plantations. Some bursting into tears, having panic attacks, fainting, emotional breakdowns. Some of us can't handle it on a spiritual level....and some of our Ancestors don't wanna go back- little do people know.
@@gnostic268 Yes, completely ridiculous. Now The Med School at Duke University is saying that being on time for appointments is white supremacy. This shit has gotten beyond stupid.
God bless the memory if our poor african american brothers and sisters who suffered so much by being forced into slavery What an incredible waste of han potential
Those tour guides always want to redefine creole as limited to 2nd generation anything other than black… especially not wanting to acknowledge the mixed race history that none can deny
I don't think she was. She was French. I do think a relative of hers produced a line of creoles "of color" though. Louisiana Creole history is so very interesting.
I was there on a tour during my vacation in New Orleans 5 years ago. I'll never forget it. I can't explain how it was.

I was gonna skip this plantation as I plan my New Orleans trip but after watching your video, I feel it's worth the visit.
Im glad the video was helpful. Tbh I didnt have Laura planned but my bus driver convinced me. The rest is history. 🥰
On our tour of Laura plantation the tour guide was excellent. We really enjoyed it and plan on going again with my grandchildren.
I bet. My tour guide was excellent as well. His family is from the area so he knows it very well. Thank you for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed the video,
I live in Louisiana, about 2 hours of here. I remember going to these plantations on a field trip in school and really liking it.
The Creoles were mixed...African & French blood. They spoke French and Patois.
Laura plantation is an example of a French creole plantation. This is what puts it into a unique category historically.
I toured Laura Plantation before it burned the first time. It was incredible.
Wow thats amazing. What was it like if you dont mimd sharing a bit for hs all here.
This video is so delightful and well done.

I toured the Laura and some others, but Laura plantation I liked the most. It was different from all the others😄

My great grandmother was born here.
wow. that's amazing. I'd love to hear her story if that's okay with you.

Good job:)!
Check out the Tobasco Plantation, it’s a working plantation and i think you can stay there.
Good history;
Bad history
Good video…loved this. French Creoles were predominant French, Spanish, Native American, and African.
Remember the North had slaves too not just Southern Plantations
Go to Whitney plantation
250k wouldn't even buy me a house here 💀

I’m surprised they didn’t restore it after it burned.
They did
I would like to be there 1 time...
You know those creoles were mixed french and had at least one or more black ancestors as well.
Well that’s interesting the French Creoles must have looked for French speaking slaves,,,, I never thought of that or heard it. I’m glad I was not born in those times.
What’s up with the color in the video 😬
I had no idea how to use a camera thats why
If they can still glorify the plantation why can the slave descendants get their just dues from sales smh 🤦🏾♀️

Agree and disagree. Too many memories of the horrific brutality perpetrated against black people. I enjoy learning the history of our ancestors, but many don’t.
My family never owned slaves and you are saying because I am white that I should not tour this place? You better think again.

Great video! But creole people are people who are of mixed race, European and Black.
God bless the memory if our poor african american brothers and sisters who suffered so much by being forced into slavery

Interview with a vampire
Guide is not telling the truth, the enslaved people did not eat the same foods as the slave owners.
why mask?
Laura was mixed with black “Creole”

Your history about this era is poor.
