Black people should be able to get in for free..Just because. I would feel so many emotions if I was to go there. I went to Africa in 2010 and that was a life changing journey that I will remember forever.
@@ednakelley814 it's funny we have the same name spelled the same but anyway they were discriminated against black people are still discriminated against to this day for your information
@@ladyredd6857 But what does that have to do with admission to a venue? I agree with Dr. King. People should not have to pay admission based on skin color while others get in free based on their skin color. That was the comment I'm opposed to. That IS discrimination.
@Tanisha, What do you mean by "thanks for being so delicate...?" Slavery is part of American history. You cannot erase over 300 years of it, because it offends you. Do you not think rioting, looting, setting businesses ablaze is offensive?! What about the people who owned those buildings, where is there justice? You can destroy our statues, but you cannot destroy our history and great country.
Thanks for the great video! We are trying to decide on which plantation to visit later this year - out of those that you visited, which would you recommend the most? 🙂
Oak Alley was my favorite. I think it’s more typical of what we envision when we think of plantations in the Deep South. Laura plantation was so different though, and just as interesting. If you can, see both, but if you only have time for one, go to Oak Alley and plan to spend several hours there.
I love your video but to be honest not that you ask or care but the music is distracting. I realize its New Orleans style ...sound like Pete Fountain but it just take away from your video. The second piece music was maybe more in tune but thank you for the information. Very interesting
Thank you for your input. This was one of my very first videos, so I think my choices of music have gotten better. To be honest, that’s one of the hardest parts of making the videos for me. You have to be so careful not to use anything that’s copyrighted.
@@TheWanderingWife you are so right but it take a special person to see the beauty and history of our past. Thank you for responding. I subscribed and look forward to the next video
I don’t think that’s their intention at all. In fact, my tour guide was the great-great granddaughter of a slave on a Louisiana Plantation, and she was passionate about making sure visitors knew the history of her ancestors. If we bury the truth of what happened, we are in great danger of letting it be repeated. These preserved plantations confront us with the reality that was the life of the slaves versus the life of the plantation owners. It is the same reason that concentration camps in Europe are preserved, so we will never allow it to happen again.
@@TheWanderingWife well I wish you would have played what she told you about her ancestors. This wasn't a good place for blacks or African-Americans they had to keep up the plantation. They did that!
Why are you attacking a museum? Seems you would like to have people learn from history. Go dig up the guilty party but leave the modern innocent people along. gee
Saw this plantation

You don't allow free for one race and charge for another race. That's call discrimination and it's wrong.
@@ednakelley814 so how you think the slaves felt

@Sabrina MJ, Most tour guides ask you not to video them. I respect their wishes when that’s the case.
