Im not sure if you mentioned it, but the Red Top has the highest KG tnt mass in any self guided missile, 23kg TNT, which just obliterates any planes or even in a bad miss, the proxy fuze just crits the plane so badly it just crashes. especially in Sim where people dont see behind themselves. And also in sim, due to its size and 2 massive engines in the rear, on multiple occasions (like 90% of the time) in sim, you can survive getting hit by a missile. Sure your egnines are down, but you can stil glide down. due to its heavy nature and size, it loses speed fast so you need to land asap, but you can land safely and ive got a clip of it in sim and its a sick af clip.
this plane almost immediately became my favorite plane to fly and is swiftly becoming my favorite plane full stop. it started with a ”that looks kind of funny” and now it is my most played plane in the game as well as the single vehicles with the most sl earnings. even beating out the premium I used to grind out the british tree
I think for this series it would be good to see what mods have been installed halfway and/or provide some suggestions on which mods are recommended to go for first.
Can't say I agree with your opinion of the Lightning, though as 99% of the matches I've had in the Lightning have been full uptiers against teams consisting mostly of F-5Cs which just do everything better, my opinion may have a negative bias.
I am a noob and I don't know where that 'Green Square' on the target showing the distance when locked is gone. Oh sorry, it is still there. But I wonder how to activate it? Does it exist on sim?
Videos of basically 'how to play' or 'how to beat' not a bad idea with how many I see out there not playing aircraft to their strengths and paying for it, or losing to an easy to beat aircraft. Maybe cover in the videos differences when using certain versions/modifications with how many go 'lol, 109/190 with extra guns go Brrrrr' - and then wonder why the P-47 is out turning them cause the fighter configuration (2 MG's and nose cannon and 2 nose MG's and inner wing 20 mm's respectively) can get around on them but the weight, drag, etc of the cannons has made their turning way worse. And why I usually laugh at some of these people that bring extra guns (other than planes where the AG is actually stock/only weapon and rare cases like the A-4 what has way too long a reload with too little ammo) cause barring a lucky shot before I get past them their an XP piñata who can't out turn or out run me.
I really like Lightning F6, but Adens are hard to use and missiles are very bad. Its Redtops can often not even hit a target flying straight from ~1.5m away.

The lightning had real issues through its service - Fuel Silly radar that had a hood you had to put over your head to see - No radar warning receiver Sub 300 Knots and you stop being viable. Limited weapons. At low altitude - despite its massive thrust - it was quite draggy and 650Knots was about what you would get. (That being said - no one is doing Mach 2 at sea level). Contrary to claims, and the pitch that its only an interceptor -- it was a good dogfighter - except for heavy fuel burn - It had a lot of thrust and as such energy recovery. Climb, speed, power - all available. It was not lacking in the flight envelope. It was lacking in the weps and tech.

@@petrkdn8224 RAF had QRA in place. It fell to 2, and maybe 2 more on standby. Many many missions had one of the two scrubbing through unserviceable rates - If you have bear D intercepts that's ok. But if they sent 20 backfires, or something similar, its not being stopped by QRA. In its day, people can argue that there were bloodhounds and similar - its all a good discussion. I think the lightning was awesome. But that is a side issue to its mission scape and reality. Anyhoos.
Jaguars are pretty fun to go for, tornado f3 is ok takes a bit of learning but can do well once you know what your doing with it but it certainly isn’t meta
hi, could you try out the Yak 23 now? i have played it this evening for 10-15 games stock(only my second jet ever.) but i have been facing only 9.3 and up enemies every single match(RB) even had matches against 11.7 plaine!!! something has to be very broken in the yak 23/8.7 match making. when im uptiered every game without exeption and even been facing top tier.... Please test and tell Gaijin if you get the same. i will be very shoked if you dont get the same shit ive been dealing with. i have never been this tilted over a game as it got me today over these 15 games.
IRL the RAF tested the F6 against the F104.The Lightning beat the F104 in all tests except low level acceleration, which was a dead heat

I remember how OP it was when matchmaker had 9.3 i think as a hard stop, and lightning basically was always downtiered.

I got the F.53 it has the highest SL modifier in the game its great grinding SL once you get used to the play style

Can you revisit the F4D-1 Skyray? It still rips wings sometimes but it’s far more durable than it was upon release
Turn off wing Boosters and it rips FAR less often

A spaded F104 can stay close to 1450kph, so those has to be somewhat stock

that's why you need to either get close or fire in a turn, because that's how they're designed
