Samuel not only has done a fantastic job constructing the bathhouse at this scale, he does an even better job explaining the inspiration behind the build as well as the various building techniques. What's more impressive to me is that he seems really articulate and passionate when sharing his love for Spirited Away; a perfect interpretation of a Studio Ghibli building in lego form

I know he said making the whole bridge would obscure the front facade, but I'd kill to see that done, and have it sit in a more fleshed-out surrounding landscape with the completed bridge. Great job.

Just an incredible build! So happy to see this iconic structure represented in LEGO bricks and done so well. What an effort by the builder to really stay true to the source material even in areas where the lack of reference pictures made it difficult.

I'm honestly surprised lego hasn't done a studio ghibli set. Especially since disney holds the publishing rights overseas so they can get in contact with them.
That and as a kid, every single anime I saw as a kid has strong feudal japan architecture and strong japanese folklore that as an outsider; looked like the most creative alien world imaginable. Like you were put onto another planet and happened to have humans and to see them in lego is amazing! Especially this bathhouse, it looks fantastic! Amazing work!
Granted lego's sets would probably not be this big, but to imagine sets with a similar vibe would be amazing! It's one of the reasons I patiently wait for the new steam VR headset, just to spend ages looking around this place!
