If you are wondering just where we boondocked there, here's a map showing the exact spot: goo.gl/maps/cCY39TCafsaf3qvs6 It's about 7 1/2 miles south and a tad west of Quartzsite off US95. There are lots of other BLM locations, such as Dome Rock which is arguably a bit more scenic, but most others like Dome Rock Hi Jolly, Plomosa Road, etc are considerably busier. And remember, the best time to camp out there weather-wise is late November -early April. Busiest and most crowded is January, when 100,000 plus folks crowd in and around this little town of 3,000. We show this video on February 1.

In 1985, Quartzsite is where I first got introduced to RV camping and got hooked on the RV lifestyle. This brings back great memories, especially when I progressed from Jeep-tent to travel trailer to motorhome. The desert requires respect. Thanks for posting!

I have been looking for a video about Quartzite from you and stumbled onto it. Thank you. It is a wonderful place. Spacious, with all of the peace and beauty that the desert has to offer.

Great video. Former Michigander here, now living in California. I just missed you! I was at Quartzsite for 2 weeks for the RV show. My second time here and it was magical. Met some wonderful fellow campers and I like that the area is dog friendly. Great place to be. I am going to try and start every year out here! Thanks for your podcast and videos.

Thanks so much for making the trip to the Arizona desert! We haven’t made it out there yet but we TRUST YOUR REVIEWS and INSIGHTS so we are SO GRATEFUL you’ll be spending a month seeing and reviewing the area! Thank you! We are big fans! (Im sure Bo was just as happy to stay in the cooler Michigan area!)

I'm glad you finally made it. When you come back be sure to stay at the LTVA areas south of town. $40 for 2 weeks and have water available and sewer and trash dump available. ... Or stay half of the year for $180. Next time visit Joshua Tree National Park just over the border in California, and then see the Sultan Sea before driving through Slab City. The "Slabs" is not your style, but you will be glad you saw it.

Mike and Jennifer, very nice video as usual 👍 We’ve been there last year while visiting our grandkids and it was a lot of fun. The weather was perfect. Not sure if you have ever been to Sedona, but we were there in March and it was spectacular. Can’t wait to go back. The desert comes alive in spring time with all the blooms. We thought we were in some other state like Colorado because everything around us was green. The only reminder that we were still in Arizona were the huge saguaros standing tall. It truly was a breathtaking sight. Then we ventured out to Las Vegas and as soon as you pass Surprise, Az it becomes barren, minimal or no vegetation. Also, as you drive west at sunset to dusk the mountains look very spooky, lol. You only see the black silhouette of the mountains, very different sight than the mountains in Colorado. This spring we decided to visit Florida. I’m so worried about the storms, bugs and critters. We’ve been to Florida but never camping, so this will be an experience. Thanks for sharing, hope you made it home safe. Bring us some more videos. Any subject will do because you always make them interesting ❤️😊

So glad you went to Quartzsite. I am from Michigan too, and dreading being isolated in the winter up here this COVID-19 year. So this is giving me ideas, although I would be boondocking in my SUV at the age of 74! But will thousands be having the same idea? Yeah for getting to the top of the mountain.
I live in the UP, and going to the ice caves would be much better in January:) Right now at the beginning of November there is no ice:)

Great video, but I was curious as to the RV you borrowed. What brand was it, if you don’t mind sharing ? We love Arizona for boon docking. You will have to try the higher elevations as well. Arizona has the largest “White Pine” forests in all of the US.

It was a Winnebago Vita... an entry level Class C. Our friend asked us not t show it as it had some identifying marks on it . We'll be back in April and plan to settle in AZ for several weeks.

Great video! My wife isn't too excited (understatement) about boondocking, but I think I'll share this video with her. For sure, the mountain won't be on our list, as her two bad knees and bad back just wouldn't allow for that.

Here is a tip for you, grab a battery powered leaf blower before you head back to the Q, much easier and efficient than a broom to get all that dust and stones out of your RV.

I’m guessing LaMesa RV in Phoenix loaned you the Winnebago Vita or Pronto to do this video and mention their pancake breakfast. Just a guess. I know from owning that RV that the tv antenna is the worst in quartzite. Zero reception. I’m told that that is just the way it is in quartzite. Enjoy the desert 🌵

Great video. I watched dozens of videos of Quartzsite videos during and after the time of the RTR, none as interesting as yours. I think its best to go to Quartzsite when the RTR is over, but still winter. I think the bedding was cute. I've had to buy a broom while camping before (actually in Michigan) and I frequently forget my walking stick. You guys are so relate-able.

Hi@John Barker. I live in Brunswick Ohio, (near Cleveland). My family originally came from England, immigrated to Ontario and crossed over to Michigan. I have Vancouver on my Bucket list. I camp in a little bitty Ford Transit Connect and envy folks like you in those LTV's and especially in the Pleasure Way 's (which I think are made in BC.) My little Connect was covered in snow too. But I cleared it off today as it is also my daily driver. Thanks for saying Hi.

Haha - feed the beast! I know what that's like. I've been blogging about our full-time RV lifestyle for the past 7 years. Please let me know if I can offer any suggestions for your next AZ visit. This summer we'll be back in northern WI and the U.P. and I've watched your videos on the UP for ideas. We visited the sea caves (ice caves) near the Apostle Islands last summer and fell in love with the area. This summer we plan to visit Pictured Rocks and make a return visit to Mackinac Island. Love your channel ❤

It had a lot of inside and outside storage. A slide that extended the width of the whole driver's side. A dry shower, comfy bed. Not much of an inverter (only 1K). But hey, it wasn't our rig and we were very glad to be able to borrow it from our friend. We got by just fine and in lots of comfort on a large queen sized bed.

Many so called free camping areas are now being restricted. Many long timers with channels are now moving into the homesteading community. The RUclips RV lifestyle has jumped the shark. Idaho authorities will definitely confront anyone with out of state plates, unless you are in a designated fee camping area.
