Well, the game's heroes are made after Hulk Hogan (Hawk), Mr. T (Sledge), Van Damme (Boomer) and Carl Weathers (Blood). So it's no surprise. But Hulk's similarity in particular was extremely popular in the games at the time, as was he - and well beyond the reaches of the gameworld.
@@DAZZYVANDAM May I ask where you're from? EDIT: Nevermind. Might help if I read the video description you posted 3 YEARS AGO lol :) I'm from the States, so we had a different experience. Turtles in Time was everywhere here... arcades, bowling alleys, Pizza Hut, comic book shops...
Ninja Turtles shouldn't be here, but now I feel like playing Vendetta. I love that game, with that Hulk Hoganish character and the street lamp humpers from the Blue Oyster lol
Knuckle bash was one of my fav beat em ups in the past. I remember the fun using each character desperation moves, especially 'the elvis' guitar one. It was hilarious.
Alot of people say beat em ups arent great games thats probably why they dont have alot of them now. I remember the feeling beat em ups gave me. I would love playing as a bad ass character just taking out the scum and beating the shit outta fools that wanted some. It was a such a fun way to release aggression for me. Pretty cool video.
I remember watching that game in an Arcade when I was like 4. NEVER EVER AGAIN finding it again... and now Im 31 and I just knew the name of this game. GOD.
You were just a little too young. Trust me, it was there all the time before. Hey, but today it is not a problem. MAME will give you all the arcade fun you've missed, and then some. In my days the problem was somewhat different. Some games had quite a line of those waiting to play. And you could also get mugged in the arcades, so it wasn't always safe to venture, unless you brought enough backup :-).
I absolutely concur. Shaking your hand virtually, as a 90's arcade child. Rare beat'em up was Combatribes, for example. Then again, it probably depends on where and when.
I mean Battle K-Road is a fighting game, so maybe the reason you stopped making videos is that you labeled some games wrong and people are calling you out.
These were the types of Arcade machines my local convenient store would always have back in the day..they didn't have any of the popular expensive cabinets.
I guess a lot depends on when the said arcade was established, budget, suppliers, development plans and such. For example - if the arcade had a Neo-Geo row, then Burning Fight would be there for sure. There was a ninja-turtles boom at the time, so the arcade owners always kept a machine of some kind of turtles. (i was never a fan) But Vendetta?! Come on! It was a staple - the most stylish and the best-developed beat'em up of all time! It was a no-nonsense, no-cutesies macho-man's beat'em up. Starring Van Damme, Mr. T, Hulk Hogan and Carl Weathers. The animation, the fighting style, the atmosphere the bravado, the sound fx and the screams during the brutal beatdowns! Knee to the balls! And a beautiful spinning kick sending dudes flying across the room! Ground & pound! Each strike really meant something...you could almost feel it being a teenager! The game tempted all the noobs around with it's tough-guy antics - and drained their pockets dry very quickly. And the owners always loved it because of that. As did i, but as a gamer. And I still do!!!
So many final fight, double dragon, street fighter and streets of rage clones made back in the early to mid 90s... I’m surprised there weren’t court cases for copyright infringement
4:59 Those two fighters are totally not a rip off of the original terminator movie. Heck they even used the bad sfx scene where he takes his eye out to fix the infrared sensor as another fighter
Just to add to the fun and debate. I knew of 3 locations that had Turtles In Time in Arizona alone back when it came out in the arcades. 1. Golfland Sunsplash in Mesa, Arizona 2. Castles and Coasters in Glendale, AZ 3. Fiddlesticks in Phoenix, AZ...just sayin'
I saw a Turtles in Time cabinet once in Las Vegas, I didn’t bother with it since I had it on SNES. But thinking back it does seem pretty rare I never saw it after that at an arcade.
Why in almost every beat em up game what give your health up is some sort of junk food. Burgers, fries, soda, candies. Why not vegetables, chicken breast, salmon, protein shake. Cause they are fighters taking down hundreds of bad guys by themselves. They got to be in good shape you know.
I didn't recognize knuckle bash until you brought out the alternate character in his flashy Star-Spangled outfit and he looks like Elvis and Evel Knievel had a baby they can do Windmill kicks
Some wicked games here, I loved Knucle Bash, Vendetta all that stuff in the arcades. Beat 'em ups were pretty much always my favorite - who doesn't love a good punch in the face? PS don't forget about G.R.O.W.L - that was great!
Burning Fight was in quite a few spots back in the days. IT was just about anywhere you had a NEO Geo MVS cabinet. Also Violent Storm was pretty much all over the place too. As well as Turtles In Time.
Guardians of the Hood was made by the same people, it came out after Pit Fighter and was a bit shit in comparison - Pit Fighter was GREAT fun! I actually used to own both on original PCB's, sadly lost now.
On the south end of the Seaside Heights boardwalk, by the Saw Mill there used to be a huge arcade filled with retro games from the popular SF 1, and 2, to more obscure games like Vendetta, and Klax. A few years ago there was a huge hurricane, (Sandy), the very same week they finally got everything up for business, there was a huge fire that destroyed everything in the south end of the boardwalk. I can't remember the name of it, but it was an amazing arcade, right next to a bunch of good bars, and pizzerias. Since then it's all been replaced by Dunkin Donuts, and other shitty, overpriced chain restaurants, and the shore is becoming like every other place in the country. I've noticed wherever I go in the country, it's all the same McDonalds, Dominoes, and Applebee's. Travel is becoming redundant as wherever you go it's the same shit as everywhere else. Soon every Main Street in the world will be full of closed family businesses, and replaced by Holiday Inn, Walmart, Lowes, CVS, Pizza Hut, and KFC. There's a huge military base by me in Lakehurst, NJ, and I get that there's a comfort in the familiar. The McDonald's wherever they come from will taste the same as the one near the base, but whatever happened to when in Rome? We have all the best food from NY, and Philly. From awesome pizza that rivals any place in Brooklyn, to cheesesteaks almost as good as Geno's, or Pat's, and even great Chinese, and Italian restaurants. All of which beat Burger King, Dominoes, and that horrible, bland excuse for a sandwich place Subway. Apologies for the rant, But I wouldn't think of going to Chicago, then eating their famous deep dish pizza at a Uno's, or going to Italy to eat at an Olive Garden.
God I miss games like these. We need to get more like these being produced. This was so fun.
DBrasco Well, I’m 15 and I’m currently thinking of making a beat em up
Guardians of the Hood was basically Pit Fighter 2.
Pit Fighter was awful.
@@mcleb84 you crazy. Pit Fighter was Raw south side Jim bruh.
I love retro games i wasnt born when these came out but i love finding old games to play i love your channel
Thankyou very much
Tmnt looks fuking sick, the smoothness is unreal for that era tho.
My OCD kicked in when you didn't pick up that green gem in burning fight....
19:43 Hulkamania running wild in the streets, brother!

This gave me some great ideas for games to download on my MAME Emulator. Also brought back some great memories.
LOL that's all I ever play anymore is MAME...and MUGEN.
MAME for president! Arcades forever! :-)
Like everyone had Turtles in Time for Nintendo.
Beat em ups are so underappreciated..Soo many child hoop memories. SOR4 was a great surprise.
29:41 this Turtles game couldn't have been that rare.
assaulting hotel staff seems horrific, but strangely i find it quite amusing LOL
Turtles in Time was everywhere. One of the most popular arcade beat'em ups of all time.
Turtles coin op was everywhere, Turtles in time Arcade cabinet was quite hard to come by....not including home console releases here.

Holy shit, Violent Storm is the most Early 90's Thing i have ever seen. Dat music, also one of the Two Crude Dudes!
Ninja Turtles shouldn't be here, but now I feel like playing Vendetta. I love that game, with that Hulk Hoganish character and the street lamp humpers from the Blue Oyster lol
A lot of these are still floating around, some of them are packaged in a hyperspin machine. i know my drive in theater still has Burning fight.
16:07 *throws homeless man at you*
Eperdomo86 lol
I thought that Bret Hart was a role-model...
He could have put some change in his cup afterwards.
good luck reading that knuckle bash intro text ^_^

vendetta and violent storm is a real blast! I played em on MAME 100500 times)
Vendetta was a great game :-) and the turtles in time. Nice upload :-) love a good beat em up

DAZZYVANDAM RETRO GAMING
Sorry.
I mean Battle K-Road is a fighting game, so maybe the reason you stopped making videos is that you labeled some games wrong and people are calling you out.
anyone remembers an arcade beat em up where playable caracters were 2 guys with whips??
These were the types of Arcade machines my local convenient store would always have back in the day..they didn't have any of the popular expensive cabinets.
Man, I remember going to the arcade with my friends and we would all play Crime Fighters. It was a 4 person coop.

Master Splinter?

Let's just think it's a "Hotel Ritz" a bit more affordable :-)
FATALITY!
Rats.
TMNT was never rare? If anything, it was even more common than the original!
Orange Luchador man doesn't fuck around.
The 🐕 at 12:20 had no fucks to give
I remember playing Knuckle Bash, great game. That would had been awesome ported to Sega Genesis.
I have Burning Fight on Neo Geo classics for PSP. Guardians of the Hood is a Pit Fighter spun off into a Final Fight format game.
So many final fight, double dragon, street fighter and streets of rage clones made back in the early to mid 90s... I’m surprised there weren’t court cases for copyright infringement

Arnold as Cyborg T-8P
12:01 The music sounds like the intro to a Saturday morning cartoon that was cancelled after its first season.
turtles in time was my fav in the arcade.

The way he hopped off that motorcycle and proceeded to thrash was pretty Gawdlike 😂, protect your hood is Soo cringy though
back in the day i always wished there was an arcade version of Barry Corey's The last Dragon

Burning fight... aka Final Streets of Fight Rage
Great video, some more rare than others. To be fair, Turtles in Time was poorly distributed in arcades.
Guardian's of the hood?!..... Lol! Come on mane!
