Hi George - wonderful snapshot of life in the Shotts back in the 70's (I guess). My mum was that gorgeous lady - (I take after her in looks of course) who likes her Nescafe. There is an air of humour about the whole recording - loved it! Thanks for the memories!
Great video George, you interviewed my mum Jessie Robertson, she liked the nescafe coffee! Thank you for posting it was lovely to see and listen to me wee mum ☺Elaine
Hi Elaine , I have collected lots of video clips over the years and I am now getting round to putting them om RUclips , I did not know that was you mum , your comments on the video are much appreciated. George
The two old men sitting on the bench ,the one the right is my uncle James or sheriff that was his nickname back then it’s good. To see the old faces again
Still angry after watching video. Cummins lied for two years about closure. A former employee who emigrated to Cummins in U.S.A.[ slimy bugger ] knew about closure, told his father who worked in Cummins Shotts, but swore him to secrecy. Remember many people on video. Some gone! R.I.P. big Billy Muir.
Jaundiced looking guy at 4:20 - "don't touch spirits, oh no no no"
