I don't leave comments on videos often, but credit where credit's due: these are fantastic tutorials. Thanks for putting in so much time and effort to create a great free resource for all the C4D newbies out there. Truly you are the real MVP.
dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you guys are bored like me atm then you can stream pretty much all of the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my gf for the last few days :)
Subsurface scattering is allowing light to pass through the material, just like light passes through our skin, and most other organic materials. That's what happened when you added the light, before there wasn't any lights, only the default viewport light, which is like from all directions, so light passed through all over, but, when you added the light, that light were the only light source.. ;)
This so awesome!!! I have been looking for low poly and I have seen others making landscapes but this is the first good modelling!!! I just cannot thank enough!!!!!! Thank you so much for making this AWESOME tutorial!!!
This was very helpful. I hate downloading free pre-done models because you don't learn how to do it. This came out actually better than some of the free low-poly ones I was looking at for my background deer in a nature scene. Thank you.. this was complete from start to finish and you explained every step... Awesome..
I was watching a tut by Kay Tennermann, and he suggested setting the angle limit on the phong tag to 1, rather than deleting it all together. Love this technique though, looking forward to a rig tut.
you are the best. i've been looking for a channel like yours. half the tutorials i watch i don't plan on following them but i pick up some pretty neat skills. keep it up.
another great tutorial , i've been waiting for something like this. i work as a motion designer , but i still got much to learn and your channel helped allot.
This is really awesome! It opens up so many possibilities, I'm gonna try it with ALL the animals.. . or probably just a bear. .. Thanks for the tutorial.
I'm a complete amateur when it comes to this sorta stuff, and I am totally stumped (I feel like an idiot asking). But, how do you get those black lines? Like, when you originally pulled out the n-side, it had all those lines on it, same while you were dragging it out on top of the deer. How do you get that? I can't see what I'm making because there aren't any lines, haha.
Great tutorial!! Congrats, I've been doing this for a long time and I can tell you definitely have a great sense of design. Looking forward to see some "design principles" tutorial, like how to come up with ideas, blend references, resources and how to come up with something new. I think there is no videos talking about this at all and could be a good video. Thank you for all your tutorials!
hey i just want to say that i really like this tutorial!! this is the most exciting part of low poly for me. i will sure keep learning from you. thanks!!
Thanks for this great tutorial, very inspirational. I think for the symmetry object you can use -1 scale instead to mirror the parts just to give a bit more flexibility. Can you actually share a bit more of your C4D layout? Thanks!
hey Matt great video as always, I really would like to see how you animate that model, I have a big problem with animating stuff to look natural especially with animals
really nice tuturials matt. thank you for making these. quick question: when I drag with command (when inside the loft) the new n-side is created outside the loft and I have to drag it inside the loft each time. What do I have to change in order to create it inside the loft like you do it? Thanks :)
I fucking love your videos, man. Please do these Low Poly and AE clean & trendy Summits for the rest of your life. I learn so much from you, ma nigga. Much love from Portugal, you've got a fan here! :)
Great tutorial! I'm currently making a bear so will have to post it when I'm finished! This was really helpfully for me, trying to get the hang of using low poly.
Thanks for the video, and showing us other possibilities. Can you please do something that involves humans using the same technique? I have tried that for a project I am working on and not so great results. (Low poly style)
Hey! I used your low-poly tutorials to make a killer animation for my application to film school, but now the GI settings that make the low-poly look so awesome make the render go increasingly slower. Any idea how to make it so that this animation can be rendered without having to render for 3 days straight?
***** Thanks a bunch! I used IR+QMC on Low as you said and rendered it out, it's looking awesome! I'll link you the final result when I'm allowed to, can't do it yet because the Acadamy has policies against it. Thanks again and get better soon! :)
At 3:39 i dont know hot to get those little boxes, i press control because i am on windows and nothing happens please help. GREAT TUTORIALS THO!!! BIG UP
Love you tutorial. Can you make a video about how to archive the nice bright color render as can found in many lowpoly artwork? Thank you again. I really enjoy your totorials :) Keep up the good work.
Awesome video. Quick question every time I hit command to make a new n-side it does not add it to the loft. I have to drag the new n-side to the loft. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
***** Yeah I have R14. Thanks for replying. Check out what I did from what I learned from you www.allamericanhipster.com/post/80204774570/double-the-wolf
btw on my render it looks like the deer has some kind of noise, like dust in the body, i guess its maybe becouse of light or his material, you know how can i fix it?
What are the keys that you use to move around in the perspective view, I know that if you press ALT Key, you can rotate around the object you want to, is there any shortcut key for moving and zooming, please help.
hey man, when ever i go to extrude the nside spline (pressing command E) it goes opens a preferences tab, do you know why this might be? p.s. loving your tutes! inspired!
Hey what an amazing Tutorial. But I've got my problems with the shortcuts. I can't duplicate the N-spline by pressing command while I'm dragging it out. What is the Name of the shortcut, so i can look in the german version whats the right shortcut for me. thanks a lot and greets from germany.
Thank you for all the tutorials, its great your idea of help people improving your skills, i want to ask something, can you do a simple tutorial of how to do a low poly iceberg ? and thank you again xD

Low Poly has become my favorite style now, and I wasn't too sure how to model things with low poly, but this was a tremendous help. Thanks!
the qualty for a 2014 video is amazing!
I'd love to see you rig that!
Subsurface scattering is allowing light to pass through the material, just like light passes through our skin, and most other organic materials. That's what happened when you added the light, before there wasn't any lights, only the default viewport light, which is like from all directions, so light passed through all over, but, when you added the light, that light were the only light source.. ;)

Would it be possible to connect the legs the same way you did the head? It would be nice to use a low poly animal for rigging purposes.
Hey! I used your low-poly tutorials to make a killer animation for my application to film school, but now the GI settings that make the low-poly look so awesome make the render go increasingly slower. Any idea how to make it so that this animation can be rendered without having to render for 3 days straight?
(Also, I need to have it done by the 9th of April, which is why I don't want to render 3 days straight :P)

What are the keys that you use to move around in the perspective view, I know that if you press ALT Key, you can rotate around the object you want to, is there any shortcut key for moving and zooming, please help.
