When you are selecting the "shore polyons", you are much faster with the loop selection tool (U~L), instead of clicking each one individually. Just a small hint. Thank you very much for the Tutorial!
you can do universal scale down of an object by hitting "T" for scale tool and then just dragging anywhere on the screen outside of that object this will scale down or up with same value on all 3 axis :)
welcome, love c4d it is awesome tool :) just keep in mind on poly object it is better to do scaling by normals direction, since object will keep its proportions without overlapping faces but on LP objects simple scale on all 3 axis works great.
***** Just a tip, If you hit U and then L, you can select polygons in a loop chains so selecting the soil during the part at 7:45 would me much simpler
***** Also, To scale up something in equal proportions you can, with the scale tool selected, just click on the empty gray space and move your curser up to scale it up evenly, or down for shrinking it down evenly.
I don't know why anyone commented on this, but if you shrink the "water sphere" you can just not touch any of the axis, and then drag to change the size. It'll just keep the same shape!!!
The process of how I watch videos like this one- 1. Search up the intro song 2. Listen to the song for another week 3. Realise I have to watch this video
Para quem não tem muita experiência o seu tutorial não é facil de se 'reproduzir', pois há poucas explicações de onde se deve clicar e a função de cada clique \o
I'm trying to make a Mix of a Low poly No man Sky and Little big planet type of game something I really been dreaming about tell me if you think if it's a cool idea
For some reason, no matter what I am doing, if I hit undo once, all of my mat I've made to color my polys I've extruded on the green sphere, go back to green. They don't remain their changed color. I saved my project, restarted cinema4d, and reopened my project and all the mats were green with the exception of the blue one. Does anyone have a fix or an idea as to why this is happening? Please let me know!
+Arda Hocic öyle yapınca oluyor ama bunlar yeni cisim oluşturup C ye basmadan da gözüküyor acaba ayarı mı var yoksa yeni sürümde kalktı mı diye merak ettim
You may heard of wallpaper engine, there you can use a video as a wallpaper, so i thought a planet would be perfect for looping it. So i strated yesterday with a little animation and with one of the test render i created a wallpaper for myself for the time the animation is fully rendert. ( 1900frame - 4min each) :( I hope you like it. (3440x1440 is my monitor resolution, if you are wondering) sta.sh/02momtc4opy If you have any suggestion to make is better, please let me know.
Hello sorry to be releasing my channel over here have a lot of work in modeling and etc ... make available free objects in cinema 4d tutorials I also admire that channel and would like to have some recognition one can help me thank you.
Tiedie, first off, thanks for the tutorial. This was my first intro to low poly art :) and also just starting C4D :) .. I put it up on my daily blog - bazzinotti.wordpress.com/ - Day 13 - I hope you like it ^_^ and are happy that I learned from you :)
Update: I mastered Blender, I decided to get better software by illegally downloading this. This is my second tutorial. Let's see how far I can go... - January 24, 2016
at 8:20... i took 2 seconds doing that bit... pressing U then L... is loop selection, and it highlights all of the edges... that you did manually one after the other... HELPFUL TIP!
Thank you for the tutorial Tiedie, as a Pro tip for anyone reading, you can go to "Select" ---> "Loop Selection" and click on just 1 polygon when creating the brown dirt between the grass and water, this will save you a lot of time instead of doing 1 at a time. For example I made a sphere with 36 segments following this tutorial and the I was able to change the texture of everything I needed in about 5 seconds. Hope that helps and keep up the great work!
it looks so nice, and ive actually done everything as you told, but my world seems so round (didnt tick "perfect sphere/ball), i have enough but not too many segments but i really miss the edgy optic. any advice? heres a link to a picture of it www.directupload.net/file/d/4492/lm3835qz_jpg.htm
i noticed that when you resize an object you tend to pull by a specific axis separately, just in case i have to say that in order to resize proportionaly you must move your mouse away, click and move it up, that makes a constrained scale
this is great perfect for a current project i'm working on; having to explain some basic things our planet does. instead of a real large world i'm just using small random low poly planets for examples. Would be really cool to do a cut in half planet so i'm going to have to figure that out to explain convection inside a planet good job +Tiedie
Is the right click menu available in "lite" version?, I have no menu, I went into preferences and made sure the optional menu was on. if not, where do I find the extrude sub menu for extruding polys on the surface, thanks.!
Drag any way around the screen to scale in al directións simultaniously, you can also save the selectións using "set selection" comand under select menu. Nice vid by the way just turning in to infographics and this is helpfull

Thank you
Subbed! awesome tut
thanks for the tut :3 i was waiting this for a long time.
Would it not be easier to have scaled the water sphere by its center, instead of doing it by each axis?
The process of how I watch videos like this one-

+Serkan ALTINIRMAK C'ye basıp editable yapman lazım.
+Arda Hocic öyle yapınca oluyor ama bunlar yeni cisim oluşturup C ye basmadan da gözüküyor acaba ayarı mı var yoksa yeni sürümde kalktı mı diye merak ettim
Programda Shift+V yap. Sağda ayarlar çıkıyor. Ordan Sel.: Wireframe işaretliyse gözükmesi lazım. Başka bilmiyorum.
+Arda Hocic Tamam bakayım ben çok sağol
Arda Hocic Çok sağol işe yaradı o özellik seçili değilmiş büyük dertten kurtardın beni sürekli geri alıp baştan ayarlıyordum :)
I got sooo confused at some parts bcuz I was using C4D R17 instead of R14, and I was like WHERE IS THE SPECULAR KMS

first
What a nice polyoctahedragonal sphere
This was a great tutorial, and i really like this style :D
Very nice job :D
Can you make a tutorial how to do this on blender.
When you're selecting the edges for the dirt, use loop selection instead of selecting them all manually.
Never used C4d before. Got 14 minutes into the video. About 30 minutes into my creation. Crash D: rip

when i extruded the grass sphere down to show the water, some vertices are left behind leaving a mesh wall. anyway to fix this?
Update:
I mastered Blender, I decided to get better software by illegally downloading this. This is my second tutorial. Let's see how far I can go...
- January 24, 2016

you Can change color At The water, like you have Done for the mountains
Even if this video is old it’s still so usefull, thx a lott :)

kay, i got it, i had to remove the 2 small orange dots next to the layer
happy to hear you figured it out :)
Hey add Blockeh on league tiedie
Nice Tutorial, i like this effect
i noticed that when you resize an object you tend to pull by a specific axis separately, just in case i have to say that in order to resize proportionaly you must move your mouse away, click and move it up, that makes a constrained scale
thanks you!, :3
If extrude doesn't work in R17, you can use smooth shift
this is great perfect for a current project i'm working on; having to explain some basic things our planet does. instead of a real large world i'm just using small random low poly planets for examples. Would be really cool to do a cut in half planet so i'm going to have to figure that out to explain convection inside a planet good job +Tiedie
+lessdan three (LessDanThree) happy i could help! good luck with your project :)
+Tiedie the only thing I wish was easier was keeping the colors when i move it to Element 3D which I use more for animating...
wish i could help but i have no experience with that software :/
how can I animate it to spin?
Slap everything.
Tiedie, how do you make the grass look more textured, like in the original on the left of the river?
I believe that was just an overlayed texture i added post production in photoshop :)
hey.. what's your intro song.?. its so pumpy!
intro song name in the description :)
Nice vid by the way just turning in to infographics and this is helpfull
awesome tut.
You can also select the river border (Brown) by hiting U + L using loop selection.
Faster way.
:)
I just watched this and helped me a lot. Was the first time i've ever used C4D... I come from after effects so i have a good basis i think.
the house tutorial?
almost the same world which I used for my intro :D
I like it !
