Yeah it looked like the plan was going to be Lita going to Wrestlemania 21 as the WWE Womens Champion. Then they had to pivot to Trish being jealous that Christy Hemme was being given the world on a silver platter, then Trish went down with a bad back herself.
Yeah, it wasnt a clusterfuck cause the event was in the middle of NOWHERE.....San Juan Puerto Rico. It was a clusterfuck due to the fact that everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Crazy to think as they post this episode on youtube, it was 15 years ago Thursday when this event happened.
I loved hearing Wesley Snipes reaction to Triple H, the actor. I was something along the line of 'OK, how is this guy and why is he here?'. He sure got some chances, that Paul Levesque.
Is it just me or did they not mention that the World title was vacated going into this show? Triple H and Benoit had a finish in a title match where Triple H tapped out to crossface but at the same time pinned Benoit. Title was then vacated. Elimination chamber was for the vacated World title.
@Anderson Silva Yeah the last couple of podcasts haven't gone in to as much depth as I would like, but that was a pretty major detail they didn't mention.
actually I would love to hear a Dusty (Redux) episode. I tried to go back and listen to the first episode that was about Dusty and it isn't as good as some of the other deep dives about personalities that were in the WWF and I think b/c they were really sort of freestyling they hadn't hit their stride yet and found out what worked for the show.
This was the first ppv that I actually spent my own money on. When I was about 10 years old. Thank God I had the Xmas money that chamber match was awesome to my child like mind.
Stuff from 2003 on word just doesn't excite me b/c I wasn't watching at this point. However the next four episodes are something I'm really looking forward to: 1990 Royal Rumble, 1995 Royal Rumble, The Radicals (redux) and one I cant wait to hear about Sherri Martel :)
@@Super122291 I will say this, I was in college from 2007-2011 and I did get back into the current product a little bit, b/c my best friend in college was into the current product more so than I was. I'm actually really happy and thankful I got to see those :) Now heel Michael Cole annoyed the fuck out of both of us lol
@@chrisatkins9195 Apparently I did especially considering that the Main Event of this show was well received. 2003 and 2002 even was a strange time. It was 2 years after 9/11 so WWE had become overly patriotic. I live in New York. The news was playing the footage of 9/11 over and over again. We were trying to move on but the effects leaked on to Wrestling as well. Mr. America, Kurt Angle became even more of an American Hero. Mohammed Hassan etc.. It was too much forced patriotism and I grew tired of it. The story lines were crap but the guys were so good in the ring during that period but by then, I just tuned out and never looked back.
Yeah I was pretty much done by that time too (I think I stopped in 2002). I had a brief resurgence when I was in college. I had a buddy who was a big wrestling fan, but I didn't watch it aside from him being around.
58:55... Finally Conrad + Bruce throw us some Trish crumbs...not good enough though fellas; we still need a FULL BLOWN #TrishStratus episode...+ NOT 1 of those 90 min. gloss over jobs. 2 hrs. & change or more please...thanx in advance. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦
If you are talking about redoing some of your episodes I really think you should redo Austin 1998/1999. The audio was terrible and so much stuff was barely talked about barely any research the whole episode felt rushed as fuck. Some of the biggest and most important years for both Austin and the WWE as a whole and it was a really poorly executed episode.
@@Njbear7453 White Men Can't Jump, jungle fever, u.s. Marshals, Demolition Man, To Wong Foo, New Jack City, Wildcats, Major League... No offense but how old are you?
Before this even started, I thought “This was the night of injuries” Lita’s being the one that sticks out.
Yeah it looked like the plan was going to be Lita going to Wrestlemania 21 as the WWE Womens Champion. Then they had to pivot to Trish being jealous that Christy Hemme was being given the world on a silver platter, then Trish went down with a bad back herself.
Joseph Boza hire a damn good doctor 👨⚕️!!!

By this man a beer
Coors, bud light, or michlobe... I like my beer like, I like my violence... Domestic lol
Thank you! Fuck it’s so annoying to come here for something and they dick around for an hour lol
Greg Harper I mean they are giving us the back story. That’s the stuff I personally enjoy, if I want just the matches I can watch the PPV myself haha.
flowerz I love the back story then the ppv review
I'm surprised that nobody in here mentions Puerto Rico

Didnt mention and didnt answer any twitter q
@Anderson Silva Yeah the last couple of podcasts haven't gone in to as much depth as I would like, but that was a pretty major detail they didn't mention.
It was actually a triple threat with Edge Benoit and Triple H. Triple H was on outside of ring and Edge tapped while Benoit was pinned.
that was Edge, not Triple H.
That's such a good idea Bruce, I would love to revisit Dusty

I watched this for the first time last week and I enjoyed it. Loved the Elimination chamber match and Maven cracked me up too.

Happy day of birth

Happy birthday! 👍

Possibly the greatest thumbnail in the history of our great sport!
Nicholas Mars I think the greatest one is the one for the Badd Blood 1997 episode.
I enjoyed the summerslam 97 thumbnail. With Conrad as Bret looked so goofy
JR or Foghorn Leghorn with the impersonation. ...cant decide🤔🧐
I never saw this PPV. I was done with Pro Wrestling in 2003.
If that's the case then you've nissed out on some classic feuds and matches

I remember being in this show and I remember that Batista was the one who got the biggest pop HHH too but not as much as Batista
You guys hardly talked about the PPV.
Wasn't much to say about it outside of the Chamber match
I agree with both... Hahaha
What about Royal Rumble 2000? That would be a really interesting one to cover.
I literally said “ha you said head trainer” right b4 Bruce said it😂
"Who is this?"
"Bruce Prichard"
