I was in South Florida fishing about a week an a half ago. 3 days full of peacock, clown knife, and snakehead. scouting out areas for when I move when my parents are no longer living (as morbid as that sounds)

I'm predominantly right handed at everything, but I love to fish left handed. It's the only way I fish actually. I transitioned over bc I hated switching hand over after I casted.

I have never been to Florida but I definitely want to plan a trip and try fishing for peacock bass for the first time.
I like it I really like the Lews 6”10 and the Lews 7”0 combo I have like three of each and then I have two Burkley 7”0 Rods with Lews reels but Lews is my favorite by far cool combo though for the price it’s nice

I love how trey says the left handed isnt for him but used the left handed retrieve on the other combo as well. Either way works for me as long as im fishing it doesn't matter.

Im a righty that uses a lefty baitcaster. Its much better cuz u dont have to switch hands after casting while thumbing. If u can get comfortable with it, its way better

Trey was talking about the guarantee and it made me think of the guarantee scene in the movie "tommy boy". A guarantee doesn't mean quality. Why would a company give their products a guarantee? Maybe because it's a guaranteed piece of junk. I mean if you want me to take a dump in a box and slap a sticker on it that says guaranteed i can do that. I got the time. But do you wanna buy a condom because it has a guarantee on it or would you rather have a condom with an reputation for performance and quality but it doesn't have a guarantee? More importantly which would you want your 14 year old kid using?
If you think a peacock is hard to deal with you should try unhooking a 40inch pike with a jerkbait in the back of its throat, in a kayak. Without pliers.

350 is abit much for Christmas shopping isn't it? Like I feel most people's budgets are like half that depending how many family members you have to buy for or your income 🤔
This was more of a “guideline”.. you could build the same thing for $100-$120.. all you need is a 7.1:1 reel and 7’3” MH rod 💪🏼

I don’t know. Catching them muskies, pikes and pickerels with treble hooks and sharp teeth is pretty scary. Plus they’re extra slimy and slippery too.

Hey I know you bought the 1000 dollar diawa reel. But you need to try the daiwa steez a2 it's there newest one I got it for around 400 from Japan. And I'm telling you it is hands down better than shimanos top of the line. Its smoother lighter and strong than an antares
YakPak is my favorite angling youtuber because of 2 reasons. He's a vet like me. And he always seems to be in good spirits. It's a bucket list thing for me to catch a trophy largemouth fishing with Yak.
I just bought as a first baitcasting reel a kastking Spartacus 2 and getting a lews speed stick or Abu garcia vendetta medium heavy 7" 3' to go with it. The reel is 60 and the rods should be about the same so like 120 ish combo. See how well that runs in spring. I want to spend some time in winter practicing casting and tuning it first

My only issue with this "budget fishing gear" is most people on a budget are not going to basspro they are going to Walmart and getting a como that fits in their budget.
Then they should keep their options open and shop around to different stores to find the best bang for their buck.
You have to laugh, there Trey is complaining about using a left hand wind baitcasting reel and yet the spinning reel he was using was, uh, a left hand wind one!

I can use both kind of reels to left our right but if you are going to be flipping its good to use the opposite reel for a right hander its so you dont have to switch hands when you cast a fish can take the bait quick and take the rod out of you hand
