I was riding tonight from Glenn Park to Powell in San Francisco on the new trains 🚆😢going to miss the legacy cars

Today I learned from an operator that on the FOTF trains the air horn automatically goes off when the emergency brake is used.

Same with the legacy fleet. It was a mod on the old cars in the late 2010s, following a fatal incident where a trainee did not blast the air horn before hitting a couple employees working on the track. New cars were spec'ed with the air horn activation.

Same here, I rode a BART legacy train back to Oakland from San Francisco and that was the last time I’ve ever rode a legacy fleet train.
