Reference to the Polish wars during the Mexican American war of 1846 and their similarities: The Mexican American war was considered the most unjust, unwarranted act of war by any nation ever recorded on the part of the United states, while insignificant on the levels of European warfare, its aims, motives, and how it was effected made it far worse than any of those wars:
Our Mexican war is as good and as bad as the Russian Circassian war, and if we speak of dismemberment, Poland now stands not alone! But if the period ever arrive to where the second largest republic on earth besides our own, Mexico, and by far the most hopeful and consistent one is blotted out of the record of nations and becomes “ The Poland of the West” we shall be condemned in the eyes of heaven and our own as authors to such tremendous a catastrophe! Bad as they all are at best, this aggression surpasses them, while insignificant on the measures of European warfare, that is our Mexican American war, it is still more unjust than those because we went about it with false pretences and hypocritical professions of piety, justice, liberty, and equality; and have pursued it by means more abhorrent, than mere ruffian, violence, whatever its object can ever be! I look back to see how in the course of events which some nations call “Providence or destiny”, have fared with other nations, who engaged in this work of territorial advance and dismemberment. I see in the later half of the 18th century, The three powers, Austria, Prussia and Russia may remember how their powers trampled on their impotent and weak neighbor Poland, one had his California, the other his New Mexico, the last his Veracruz, did they remain untouched and incapable of harm? No very, very far from it! For awhile it deemed so, that their powers could not even take insult, but retributive justice had too become destiny! A few years pass and we hear of a new man, a Corsican lieutenant, the self named “armed soldier of democracy”, Napoleon! He ravages Austria, covers her land with blood, drives the northern Caesar from his capitals, and sleeps in his palace! Austria may now remember how her power trampled upon Poland, did she not pay dearly, very dearly for her California?! But has Prussia no atonement to make ? You see this same Napoleon the blind instrument of Providence, at work there too! The thunders of his cannon at Jena proclaim the work of retribution for Poland's wrongs; and the successors of the Great Frederick, the drill-sergeant of Europe are seen flying across the sandy plain that sorround their capital, right glad if they escape captivity or death! But how fares it with the autocrat of Russia? Is he secure in his shares of spoils from Poland? No! Suddenly we see 600,000 armed men marching to Moscow! He who holds the winds in His fist, Christ the lord and the heavenly powers, gathered the snows of the North and blew them upon his six hundred thousand men; they fled--they froze-they perished! The conquering eagle of Russia , the northern Caesar and his ever advancing terminus too, must recede! Does his Veracruz protect him now!? Far from it! Blood, slaughter, and desolation spread over Russia, and finally the conflagration of that old commercial metropolis of Russia, left abandoned and engulfed in flames, closes the retribution that she too must pay for her share in the dismemberment of her weak and impotent neighbor! But Poland however was not dismembered to create a vast market for slaves, nor for men to be sold like oxen, but it is not possible in the language of decency to describe this war, a war unheard of anywhere in the records of history an unpracticed only in Indian warfare and by barbarous nations, making our actions double criminal. To sanction such a criminal act and enslavement in Mexico where it had been abolished would disgrace Sodom and Gomorrah! The people of the United states did not premeditate this great crime, yet by accepting the booty, they are partakers in the crime, and obnoxious to the punishment, just as king ahab was for stealing Naboths vineyard!
Here’s a quote from a pro-war advocate for context of the similarity to Polands dismemberment:
We go for giving the Mexicans hell, Christ be our guide or not! The legality of the war has nothing to do with it, the contempt for which exists against the Mexicans doesn’t allow them to treat it lawfully , their imbecility gives us a title just as good as theirs! If our men wanted to wage war with Mexico and expand westward, nothing could stop them, the government cant stop something it can’t control, to stop them would be like standing in front of a stampeding buffalo herd, or to place one self on the cataract of the Niagara Falls and bid the waters be still! We see some of the same arguments that supported napoleons wars on all of Europe to spread republicanism!

This is why Christians need to take back the public square.
Note how "Israel" inserts itself into the conversation. This guy's philosophy is based on his allegiance to Israel. And yet he gets to shape US war policy in the ME.
But what can we expect from the Carnegie Council for "Ethics". Pray for them all.

      L. ACTS The US had not won the hearts and minds of people during the Bay of Pigs and got completely humiliated by Cuba, who did win the hearts and minds of people. What facts exactly are you speaking of?
