I want to mention that with the new WaveCel system, you won't be able to place your sunglasses on top of the helmet like you would with regular helmets. This is because it has a type of inner plastic that prevents the arms of the glasses from fitting properly. It's a detail to consider.
Just bought one. Very comfortable and I appreciate the safety features as well as easy adjustments. And bonus for giving me a place to comfortably put my ponytail 😅
Glad to see Bontrager investing in innovative technology that’s raising the bar for safety in cycling.
I'm thinking the WaveCel might inadvertently act as a bug screen to keep stingy bees and wasps out of one's helmet. For whatever reason, I get several stinging bugs in my helmet every summer and it's not good!
I bought a Circuit helmet because it fit my head very well but holy moly it is HOT! Sweat pours down into my eyes constantly!!
01:07 Straps Do Not Easily Adjust & Slide...
How do I get straps to Slide easily to adjust around & below ears?
These wave cell helmets are great except for one thing, they get too hot. Had to switch back to a Mips style because I needed more airflow
Wondered the same. I have the Circuit Mips which I like because of the large vents and Blendr integration. Maybe I’ll pick up the wavecel for winter rides.
Have you tried using skull caps? It keeps my head cool. They're cheap on Amazon too.
What temperature do you ride in?
@@mionggg I ride in all temperatures. I found that even when it is cold enough to wear a cycling jacket while riding outside, that I was still getting too hot because of the lack of air flow through the helmet. When I tried the WaveCel helmet in moderately warm temperatures, that's when I returned the helmet. The main difference between WaveCel and a Mips style helmet is, the Mips helmet sits slightly off your head as well as not having any kind of restriction of wind allowing for full air flow. With the WaveCel helmet, the wavecel material sits right on your head. There is no where for air to flow out of the helmet. I'm all for a more protective helmet, and I would say that I think Trek is on to something with the WaveCelt, but if it causes me to overheat then it's not for me. I would suggest, if you have not already, go try one on and see if it works for you.
So Glad I Read Your Review.
I Thought I Saw Mips Sticker on the Bontrager Circuit WaveCel Helmet?
I'll Double Check...
I'll Get It Anyway & Try It For 27 days & return it, if it gets hot...
I'm Disappointed If There Isn't The Mips Technology Included...
Because I Definitely Need Air Flow...
Thanks for pointing that out...
Need an honest review about air flow
Hey Trek team
Could I use some of the scenes of this video in my channel video while talking about WaveCel technology? Or may be got copyright issue?
So how can extend the straps so the thingy is lower below my ears? I figured out how to move the rear adjustment up so the front was not resting on my glasses. But the sides rub my ears lobes.
So I already have Bontrager front and rear lights. However, they just have ‘standard’ quick release silicone/rubber fitting straps/brackets.
I’m presuming that I would have to buy 2x Blendr brackets in order to attach to this helmet as demonstrated?
The Circuit WaveCel helmet comes with the light mounts so you're ready to attach your Bontrager lights and head out on a ride!
@@trekbikes That’s great! 😀
@@trekbikes So if before you decided to purchase a Circuit WaveCel helmet you'd already purchased a fine headlight and a great rear light not manufactured by Bontrager the light mounts are useless to you unless you spend still more. Wonderful!
@@trekbikes Can you share a link to the lights for the helmet ? I’ve had limited luck knowing which ones are the correct product.
@@trekbikesmine didn't come with mounts
What type of mount is being used for the camera or lights?
Great buckets for sure
The uptick? After almost every statement? It's annoying?
Liked everything about it!
Just saved my life
my big head loves it. 😮
very comfortable they only had black when I got mine. Might have gotten radioactive yellow.
you could not find any video review of what really happen when this helmet broke or hitting the road.. theres no data in the internet about broken wavecell whatsoever.. trust me.. i did my research
But can you dock your sunglasses?
Technically, yes!
Just bought mine today, excited to start using it.
I hope they didn't ask people to crash to get those footages 😂😂😂
0:20 debatable
Nice
Bought a M size Starvos Wavecell today. It’s meant to fit head sizes from 54cm to 60cm. My head circumference is 58cm but the rear adjustment did not have sufficient lock-in to secure the helmet at all and it moves around! The only thing securing it really is the chin strap. So if that’s a lousy fit for a 58 head size, think about it.. how in god’s name is someone with a size 54 supposed to secure this damned helmet snugly on their head!? Lousy sizing protocols! Gonna have to sell my M, which I got second hand, and go buy a S (51cm-57cm). Ridiculous!

This guy's tshirt just pissed me tf off
The worst helmet… they get too hot & is uncomfortable 🥴
So what’s better?
@@ramrod9386 any helmet with MIPS, they have the best protection. I like my Giro helmets, they have great ventilation, hold sunglasses, light (no weird yellow looking membrane) and not over priced.
As is the case with Specialized MIPS and Bell MIPS helmets almost of which cost less than the over priced WaveCel helmets.
They look too big on your head
Funny I tried dozens of brands but decided on the Circuit mips because it was less penis head than the others.
Way to go trek…. Got to have your people wear those virtue signaling shirts….lmfao…. WEAK!
