Just discovered your channel and I'm in love with your lovely boat and have found both of you so engaging! Love the channel ❤ On your chili pepper question - the flowers on peppers are like tomatoes, they're self-pollinating. The flowers have both male & females parts so don't need to be cross pollinated. A wee tap on the plant when you have open flowers should do the trick. Peppers, in general, like the heat, but chillis are a bit more forgiving due to their size. So if you're trying the plants outdoors, you may have more luck - because they like the sun, too & it'll help them ripen once you have the fruit. I hope that's been helpful!
Hi so so pleased to have you onboard for our adventures. So interesting about the chilli plants, Michael will be interested to read all that. At the moment this year they are not playing, it looks like we are not going to get any. Not sure why??? Maybe you have some ideas? Thanks for taking the time to comment.
@@cruisingontheborder I'm not sure where y'all are based, but where I am (Perthshire, Scotland) things are just not wanting to play this year. I just had my first ripe tomatoes yesterday 🙄 The only peppers doing anything are my chili peppers, as my bell peppers are not pleased. It's been a weird old year for gardening.
Hi. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. We are glad you liked the episode and hopefully your enjoying our channel. Lots more adventures coming up. We post a new episode every Wednesday Thanks again for taking the time to leave us a comment. 👍❤️
Thank you for your early comment I came across you the other day and have know seen your first three back to back so YES I WILL BE FOLLOWING YOUR ADVENTURES
I read that with green peppers, just gently shake the plant and it helps pollinate it. Maybe that would work on this type. I love the scenery, flowers, gardens and towns, and it's all next best to being there.
Just came across this on RUclips never really had an interest in canal boats but I suppose I should as we have quite a few in Birmingham so I've subscribed and get watching love a bit of scenery so I'm intrigued
Hello Michael and Jacki. You've just passed as near as you'll get to where we live. One of my favourite walks is from Burbage wharf to Crofton or Great Bedwyn for a bus back to Marlborough and then home. Crofton used to have a cafe inside the boiler house, so a very convenient stop for lunch. I think they are short of volunteers at present. I'm going to follow your adventures all the way along the K&A. thanks for sharing.
Wow we loved that section of the canal, it was so hot when we did it last year. We got stuck on the return journey due to the water pumping stations being broken. Great to know we were so close to your location. Enjoy our K&A adventures. Look forward to hearing from you and your thoughts on our travels down there. x
Hi David. Yes this part of England is very pretty! We have lots of other pretty villages to go through too! The CRT volunteers are a welcome sight. In a future episode I interview one of them so watch out for that. Hopefully you like our channel.
Hello, only came upon your channel a few days ago and I am really enjoying it, I have gone back and watched all your vlogs, thank you, I have subscribed. Best wishes Christine x
Hi Christine. Welcome to our channel… We are so glad your enjoying our vlogs. Hopefully you enjoy catching up on the earlier episodes. It’s always nice to hear from new subscribers and please feel free to leave comments whenever you like. Do you have a boat yourself? X
@@cruisingontheborder unfortunately not, I live in Kent and work in London, Also I care for my 91 year old mother, so my life wouldn't work on a boat, but I would LOVE to! I envy your lifestyle. Good luck to you both. Best wishes Christine x
Hullo again folks.....from down here in Nz. I have grown chillies this year for the first time, but unfortunately I was outside my district a while ago, and had failed to protect them from the frost. After all, it's the middle of our winter down here. Luckily I managed to pick the best of the actual peppers, but the plants are looking a bit sorry for themselves. In your case, I would have them outside, where they can be naturally pollinated during the day, and maybe even at night. Too. Unless there's a risk that they may be knicked. Sorry my knowledge of chillies is limited to next to nothing. Thank you again for sharing. Until next time, take care.
Hi again Bryan. Nice to hear from you again. Yes I thought maybe I need to leave the scotch bonnet chilli out overnight but it can get a little chilli (pardon the pun!) overnight even in summer here so didn’t risk it but it’s doing nothing presently so I think I’ll take your advice and leave it out all the time. If it dies I’ll come to NZ and pinch one of yours 🤣
@@cruisingontheborder hey mate, I'd gladly share mine with you. Btw, I've hunted high and low in my local garden centers, for Scotch Bonnet plants, but no luck so far. I'm sure they exist down here.?? Moving on.!! All the best.
Hi Christine. If you mean the person I am sat with at the table in the beee garden then no, that’s our friend Pete. If Chris Mears was also in the beer garden I didn’t see him sadly. X
Yes sadly we do remember that. It’s hard to believe when your here as it’s such a peaceful town with a really nice vibe. The town pulled together fantastically after the incident and I think it drew everyone closer as adversity often does.
👍👌❤️🇨🇦, love the scenery
Hi wow we agree the K&A is stunning. We’d love to go back there, maybe next year 👌👌. So pleased you enjoy the video. Great comment 💕

Great part of the UK and the villages were wonderful to see. My wife’s ancestors came from the Goring and Mapledurham area.
Hi Keith.
Interesting to know your wife has roots in the area we are in . We are currently in Henley on Thames which she no doubt has visited? 👍❤️

I grow peppers, Carolina Reaper, and the Ghost Pepper
You got to know how to use them or you will set yourself on 🔥 fire 🔥
Wow, not even heard of those two. Maybe a little too hot for us and we like spice and heat. Thanks for the comment.
