Honestly, I'm quite sad about how Audi discontinued the R8 line. These cars have always been so fun to drive and look so good while doing it. I'm glad you got to review the send-off!
How would you have wished for them to discontinue it?

But the EU (and especially germans) is at fault, people vote left and they got a humongeous inflation as a result and further restrictions in everyday life, like manufacturers being forced to discontinue cars further increasing development costs of newer ones.
Germany got their new man at power on december 2021, since then the Euro tanked 10% and inflation is at its highest point since 70 years.
There are other senseless decisions, like shutting off every nuclear power plant to then proceed to buy electricity from france that produces it with NPP.

R8 is the most successful base in GT race series in last 15 years. So yeah, it is legendary car alredy.

As per Audi Media for the release of the 2022 Evo II GT3 update. And yes, I can't think of any major GT3 race or series, where not one Audi won.
@@ASTRODBoy It's the most successful car in the 24 hours of Nurburgring and Spa since its introduction in 2009, among other feats. But those two races are the big ones.

I bought a Suzuka grey R8 V10 Performance Quattro one year ago. 620 PS, fully specced with the same recaros from the video. 2020 model with 21.000 km. Directly from Audi Hamburg for 145k €. Drove 20.000 km on it in one year. Sold it yesterday for 138k €. Best 7k ever spent :)

12:03 - Looks like there may have been a calculation mistake with the tachometer. When the car shifts into the 7th gear, the digital needle moves too quickly to 7500 RPMs and then slows down.
Was just going to post the same thing..... Very odd!

Im 14 and this is my dream car. Never thought they would discontinue this masterpiece😭I just hope there are some combustion cars left when I get older.
I’m 16 and same the fact that me and the car are the same age just makes things sadder 😢
It’s also my favourite and i shed a tear watching this, everything feels so beautiful and im so sad that by the time I’ll buy one it won’t be on sale as new but this is an worth send off to this legend ❤️

The Audi R8 has always been my favorite car… I wish it wouldn’t have been discontinued. The sound and performance is amazing, and it looks menacing (ever since Tony Stark drove it in the first Iron Man movie)
I’ve always respected the R8 but never wanted to own one but this is a game changer. I’d absolutely love to have one of these! Amazing in every way ❤

Tachometer software bug? Shifting at redline in 6th seems to drop the displayed rev count much lower than actual, then it plays catch up.
When go in 7. gear rpm go so fast until 7.500rpm, then rapid slow down but km/h goes the same, from end of 6. To end of 7.

Honestly, Audi has made a good decision to kill off the R8 right now. Because it would've been insulting to see this car be electrified.
Either die as a naturally aspirated hero, or live long enough to become a lifeless electrfied EV.
The RPM Lag in higher gears is annoying. But also this car is absolute perfection.

OPF delete should start being a thing. Glad both my high performance cars are 2018 models, i.e. pre-OPF. The R8 is sweeeet though.

On a Belgium Podcast about F1, they had a factory GT driver from Audi, he is job less because Audi pulled out of GT racing, but the COE/management who did this (he was an electric car believer), is fired. Don't know the philosophy of the new one, but there is hope for Audi GT
