In my opinion Korg Gadget is the most inspiring music making app on touch pads, I just love how immediate in creativity it is. However, this update from Korg is amazing, so many cool new FX (and very useful they are!) - I was dreaming of something like Sydney to make it into Gadget for my sample library....thank you Korg!
I'm loving the Sydney gadget! I bought the Santa Ana Gadget and Sydney since the update was free and neither have disappointed. I even wound getting the vst/au....although I find myself mostly on the ipad with gadget so far.
Feels like a primitive version of loopy pro. Was hoping to find something makes me want this gadget. Originally I thought Santa Ana would be the weaker of the two new gadgets. Nope! Santa Ana is really pretty amazing. Sydney feels like I already have this somewhere else on my iPad pro.
For use in Korg Gadget Sydney is a MUCH welcome addition (if you like uzing loops) - I might add the time stretching algorithm is brilliant! It doesn't sway all over the place (flaky quantize when time stretching audio loops) unlike the Akai Force workstation which I returned very soon after purchasing it.
Literally my thoughts exactly. Glad I didn’t buy Sydney, super average loop player in comparison to so many AUs (loopy and Drambo come to mind). Never thought I’d buy Santa Ana (as a guitarist myself), but now it really is the most enticing sampler gadget I’ve seen out of the bunch. To all gadget mega fans - dw - to each their own (I’m not much of a gadget dude, I use AUM… but I’m really glad the gadgets are finally AUs themselves so that’s why I’m here).
Could you tell please if is possible to set the instruments with a specific preset in each scene? I'm wondering if for the same instruments would be possible to have preset A in Scene 1, preset B in Scene 2, ... Thank you.
honestly I’m just happy about the new guitar gadget lol, it’s so realistic, especially if you use the pitch bend and tweak it. now I can add random guitar solos to things and it sound real lol
I try to automate the start point in Sydney. No automation showing. I think it can record it tho. Anyone tried this? I want to trigger a moving start point with CC automation for rapidly triggering areas in drum loops.
Isn’t a sampler supposed to chop samples? I can just bring samples into beat maker. Gadget is a lot like propellerhead reason .it took them forever to let in vsts korg is the same way. If I like korg I want to bring stuff into it not the other way around. And they need a gadget like koala sampler. Honestly I don’t like going out of what ever daw I’m using cause they all work differently and that’s what makes me choose which one I want to play with. I can’t get excited over a player and a gtr that you just trigger. When I sample I chop and do things to affectively change it up to create something new. I haven’t opened gadget up much & at this point don’t see a reason to update the app, this is just like I felt with the korg triton which is why I sold it and make way better music in studio one and maschine. I’m glad if u like it I just think they could do more so it’s a pass for me
great video! Unfortunately, loading own samples still doesn't work well. Although I have all the samples and rex files in the Korg Cloud folder, the samples are not loaded when loading a song, and they only finally appear after reloading the preset several times (if Gadet doesn't crash in the meantime). In Cubase I can load my own presets from Gadget, but the samples are missing.
I eagerly watch this video hoping I would learn how to do that most fundamental thing, i.e. import your own sounds. However it’s brushed over this aspect saying “here’s one I did earlier”. However nice video which is appreciated. Similar to the previous person I’m using it as a VST and after trying have concluded you can’t import your own sounds! Therefore it’s not actually a sampler as such but more a playback device.
@matthewmulvany I don’t use this on the desktop, this is an iPad video. However I don’t just skip over the import part, from 10.00 to 18.28 I go into great detail of how to import, load, create folders etc.

This will probably make it a lot easier now for me to get those blocs wave and groovebox loops into Gadget.
Nice demo thanks Doug 👍
Cool Gadget. Great video, Doug. What Spider said. 🙂
Hi Doug! For those curious, I think maximum sample time per slot is 10 sec.
I'm not sure if the sample matters but I'm getting 30 seconds per slot. I just subbed your channel, great content!
Great video - thank you & thumbs up!
👍🏼
I love it!💯 It's really creative
Nice, i just got the update.

Dope video, Doug. Maybe I'm missing something but the import samples don't work while Sydney is in A.U.M. 🤔
Hi Jim, yes that is true, Korg are aware of the bug, so it should get sorted out soon👍😊
@@TheSoundTestRoom Thanks, Doug
is the sydney cpu heavy on your ipad as well?
Why are my samples greyed out? Unable to import or preview.
Can you import your own samples into this sampler ?
Top job Doug 👍 this a must have for gadget
There’s a “Copy” command under “More” in Files. No need to duplicate the folder.
I always forget that, excellent tip👍😊
@@TheSoundTestRoom Yeah it’s daft that such a fundamental function is hidden away in favour of “Duplicate”, IMHO.

I just upgraded to Gadget 3 not really much going on in the way of new features or sounds Sydney is pretty cool did they take out Zurich?
Zurich is still there, and I think that AUv3 is a pretty big deal, also 5 new effects, met volume and a much improved user interface.
I try to automate the start point in Sydney. No automation showing. I think it can record it tho. Anyone tried this?
I want to trigger a moving start point with CC automation for rapidly triggering areas in drum loops.
That might work better using the loop slicer gadget (abu dabi) or using REX files on stockholm.
So it's really just a sample player, not actually a sampler?
Makes sense as they already have Abu Dhabi as a slicer/sampler

Each to their own, and that's cool, but the update is free, and that gives you many of the Gadgets to use as AUv3, it's all good😊

That is probably a bug, I would think that Korg will get it fixed asap.
