@ That is the big problem. Conservative hypocrisy is so apparent to everyone except they themselves, and I think it's largely due to legitimately not seeing a lot of people as actual people. They'd deny it, but I think it's really the only way for such blatant double standards. For them, it's tantamount to calling them a murderer for eating a hamburger; objectively, something had to die to make that hamburger, but it doesn't register on the same scale. Now, I'm not saying we should or should not go vegan/vegetarian. I'm not saying people who eat meat are bad. That's a different debate all together. What I am saying, though: for the average conservative, a good part of the population are just hamburgers.

Right??? I grew up keepin 80+ chickens and sitting at the kitchen table prepping seedlings in lil peat pots to be replanted when Minnesota Winter let up and the ground thawed. I hauled 5 gallon buckets of water to pour in the goat trough. I helped my mum rebuild an old ice fishing house into a new coop so the birds had more space and a choice between 2 coops and the barn for where to sleep. I milked pygmy goats on a stand my father designed and built for my mother. I've harvested tomatoes, beets, beans, pumpkins, birdhouse goards, and corn. Learned how each needs to be cleaned to keep for as long as possible before use, with pumpkins being the WOOOOORST cause they harvested in autumn and needed a bath with 10% bleach to 90% water. We used a kitty pool and my fingers felt like ice every year cause in Minnesota Winter Is Always Coming

I once sold Aflac for a while. With hard work within a few months I landed a big contract with a Japanese restaurant that had 2 locations in my state, 3 in a neighboring state and 1 in another state. I met with the male owner who signed off on the contract. I was given a big advance by Aflac. But when I started to sign up their workers, many were not here legally and didn't speak English. After signing up the workers that I could at 4 of the locations, the owners wife who did payroll didn't implement the program. I luckily had a lot of individual clients but I still ended up losing my car with about 15 payments on it because my other clients money went to Aflac to pay back the advance I had gotten. I thought about calling ICE on the restaurant, but quickly realized that it would hurt the workers, and the owner would just get more workers to replace them. Wash rinse repeat. Luckily I was able to switch careers because of my college degree, but it was what it's been for years. The big aspect of WW2 lend lease and America being the Arsenal of democracy is that in order for Britain to avail of this assistance she had to divest herself of all her Gold reserves and most of her industries shareholdings which were bought at bottom dollar by Americans thus bankrupting the UK. Rationing continued in the UK until 1953 because she was basically broke.
Europe had to wait until FDR secured a 3rd term as president in 1941 until the USN took on protecting shipping in the western atlantic from Uboats. The real kicker came in Dec 1941 4 days after Pearl Harbour when Hitler declared war on the USA, a mad move which saved the US from having to declare war on the AXIS.

Guess what dipshits, everything relies on logistics and the price of fuel is heavily factored in. Moreover, your side has been foolishly chanting for the mass importation of workers flooding the supply making it cheaper for corporations (the only true beneficiaries of these policies)--reducing the bargaining power of workers and unions directly. And here you are again, establishing a false dichotomy that slave labor is needed to keep prices low. These people should be investing in machinery and paying people a proper wage to do the same work. But noooooo the idea of making corporations pay more expenses is evil.

It really is baffling that farm owners are so anti-immigration. It basically translates to them proudly shouting, “I hate my hard working employees that I barely pay! Won’t someone please come along and arrest them all!”
I genuinely don’t understand what they thought they stood to gain.

Well, it's fafo time.

Not just deportation. Tariffs. So when we slap big tariffs on China, guess what they're going to do? Put huge tariffs on American soybeans and pork and everything else our farmer need to export.
So then Trump will have to give out billions of taxpayer money to farmers which will in turn drive inflation back up, on top of the huge price increases for food caused by not enough workers.

I was raised on a farm. It’s hard work but so rewarding. We couldn’t have farmed as efficiently without the seasonal help from temporary Mexican workers. They were invaluable and good humans.
