This video shows the last stage to have the armrests covered in leather. We will see how the glueing procedure is done in parts, putting the leather cover in its correct position to have a nice look.
It is possible to change the design with more cuts and sewings, in order to make this cover easier, but in this case the customer wanted to follow the original design and I had to do it.
I hope you find it useful!

This is beautiful. The biggest problem is finding the customer that will pay for the time it takes to make them. This man has this technique down to a science!!!! Its a pleasure to watch him work.
OLD LEATHER SMITH here. Excellent. Patience, Patience, Patience. That's what it takes with this project and SIR U have IT!! GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃
Wow Cesar- huge amount of work for 4 arm rests. I can't believe the detail and steps that go into that. Really fine work, really great craftsmanship there. No wonder getting a car reupholstered is so expensive- it's SOOOO much work! I watched it at 2 times the speed and it was still painstaking work! Very impressive- I was going to take an upholstery class to re-do the interior of my 1990 Porsche C4- now I think I'll pay someone like you to do it. Going to school to learn that much work would probably only be worth while if I was doing multiple cars- it would be difficult to justify for just one car considering how much work went into just 4 arm rests! Kudos'
Astounding level of detail! This kind of work is worth a fortune! The finished product is impressive, and worthy of super cars.
I really appreciate your kind remarks!
Sehr aufschlussreich.
+Peter Kroen Thanks for kind remarks! ...BTW, upholstery handcrafting labor hand is not so expensive in Mexico.

Wow 🤩 doing one was hard enough, but 4 times, Yikes 😱. I’m sure it would have taken me one month LOL 😆👍🏾
Hermoso Laburo Maestro!!

perfect demonstration by the numbers! Thank you
+tapia79r4p We have used two kinds of sewings to do these armrests: sewing machine lockstitch plus a handsewing technique.
good job to the both of you GRACIAS
+B Galvan You´re welcome! and thanks again for following us on this channel!
I now understand the costs of having an interior re upholstered. The amount of work that went into this and the attention to detail was awesome. Very nice camera work also. I truly wish I had the talent to do something like this, because I have a car that I can not afford to have someone else to do, but one component of that car is to take armrests such as these to customize the interior. I was amazed at just how much was involved in this project. Truly a talented individual. I tried to cover a console with vinyl and a spray glue and failed badly as the glue just would never dry or hold the vinyl. Leather looks much better, but can this be done with the vinyl you designed the pattern with? What type of glue are you using? I assume that a regular sewing machine would not be able to do this correctly? Thanks again so much for taking the time to show how to do this type of project. This was an awesome tutorial and very detailed video.
+Gabe G In fact, some procedures are implicated in certain works that look so simple at first sight...and only some people like you have the sensitivity to appreciate that something else is involved in.
Do not discourage, if you have failed on doing some upholstery project...try to find what was wrong...perhaps, you are not following the right procedure or some material/product is not adecuate for it.
Trial and error, is the best master, we have in this earthly life.
Wonderful workmanship! Thank you for sharing your beautiful craft!
I'm curious, would you normally remove the original layer of leather? I would have thought that it makes it more bulky leaving it on. But it looks great at the end.
These armrests were wrapped in plastic vinyl. This vinyl is melted in molds to give the required shape.
@@Cechaflo ah, I did wonder that just as I posted. Thank you so much!

Se me hace mucho mejor.ruclips.net/video/sMfvDElAEmw/видео.html

Hello Mark, It is so nice to hear from you! The old email address was deleted, sorry.
nice joob (Y)
+Driton Toni Thanks for watching our videos!
thank you for the video. just out of curiosity, did you hurt your index finger on your dominant hand or lose feeling in it? because I noticed you don't use it much.
You are welcome to the channel! I was at the point of losing my index finger. Fortunately a doctor rescued it, but it doesn't have the bending movement.
Cechaflo oh gosh I'm sorry to hear that. But you are very skilled at what you do. I wish you success!
Thanks for your words! This misfortune happened when I was doing a different job than upholstery...so do not worry(lol)
@@Cechaflo how long have you been doing upholstery? I'm a jeweler and barber and really appreciate your level of craftsmanship. Definitely a job for someone with patience.
@@mwj5150 Hello, I did upholstery when I was a young man at the end of the seventies and several years of the eighties.
I left this trade for a very long time, more than 30 years and came back lately as a hobby posting youtube videos at home and trying to specialize in leather materials.
Thanks for kind comment and for watching these videos!
What kind of pliers are you using to go to Staples?
Pull the staples
I use dental surgical pliers or long nose pliers :www.ebay.com/itm/Orthodontic-Weingart-Slim-Plier-Dental-Surgical-Steady-Utility-Tooth-Braces-Tool-/182222453355?_ul=BO

I'm also located in Mexico, and I use the same glue for my leather and vinyl projects!
Hello . using a glue
+Sasha Kosta Hello Sasha, yes, a 'yellow glue/cement' was useful to attach the leather cover to the plastic armrest...for a 'better adherence' and 'easier process' is advisable roughly sand the surface of the plastic armrest...I didn't do it...anyways is well attached.
+Cechaflo We in Kazakhstan have not seen any glue. Where are you from ?
+Sasha Kosta shoemakers use the 'yellow glue/adhesive' ...I am located in Mexico.
