    ------------------------------------
    This video shows the last stage to have the armrests covered in leather. We will see how the glueing procedure is done in parts, putting the leather cover in its correct position to have a nice look.
    It is possible to change the design with more cuts and sewings, in order to make this cover easier, but in this case the customer wanted to follow the original design and I had to do it.
    I hope you find it useful!

    This is beautiful. The biggest problem is finding the customer that will pay for the time it takes to make them. This man has this technique down to a science!!!! Its a pleasure to watch him work.

    Wow Cesar- huge amount of work for 4 arm rests. I can't believe the detail and steps that go into that. Really fine work, really great craftsmanship there. No wonder getting a car reupholstered is so expensive- it's SOOOO much work! I watched it at 2 times the speed and it was still painstaking work! Very impressive- I was going to take an upholstery class to re-do the interior of my 1990 Porsche C4- now I think I'll pay someone like you to do it. Going to school to learn that much work would probably only be worth while if I was doing multiple cars- it would be difficult to justify for just one car considering how much work went into just 4 arm rests! Kudos'

    I now understand the costs of having an interior re upholstered. The amount of work that went into this and the attention to detail was awesome. Very nice camera work also. I truly wish I had the talent to do something like this, because I have a car that I can not afford to have someone else to do, but one component of that car is to take armrests such as these to customize the interior. I was amazed at just how much was involved in this project. Truly a talented individual. I tried to cover a console with vinyl and a spray glue and failed badly as the glue just would never dry or hold the vinyl. Leather looks much better, but can this be done with the vinyl you designed the pattern with? What type of glue are you using? I assume that a regular sewing machine would not be able to do this correctly? Thanks again so much for taking the time to show how to do this type of project. This was an awesome tutorial and very detailed video.

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  8 лет назад +4

      +Gabe G In fact, some procedures are implicated in certain works that look so simple at first sight...and only some people like you have the sensitivity to appreciate that something else is involved in.
      Do not discourage, if you have failed on doing some upholstery project...try to find what was wrong...perhaps, you are not following the right procedure or some material/product is not adecuate for it.
      Trial and error, is the best master, we have in this earthly life.

    Wonderful workmanship! Thank you for sharing your beautiful craft!
    I'm curious, would you normally remove the original layer of leather? I would have thought that it makes it more bulky leaving it on. But it looks great at the end.

    Es un arte esto del trabajo con los cueros ¡¡¡felicitaciones!!! pero tengo una duda este pegamento que usa no se suelta con el calor generado dentro del auto por el sol? o que tipo de pegamento se usa?

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  8 лет назад

      +Alexéi Morán Chávez Gracias por ver los videos! ...el pegamento amarillo/cemento de contacto que usamos es a base de solvente (thinner), el cual es muy volátil...una vez bien seco, quedan las partes adheridas muy fuertemente y es bien difícil que se despegue...es muy importante que al momento del pegado no dejemos burbujas de aire, porque este aire se dilata y puede ocasionar ciertos levantamientos en esa área.

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  3 года назад +1

      Para quitar la grasa, suciedad o algun residuo de pegamento uso el líquido que usan los zapateros y le llaman 'lavador'. Me parece que es la 'bencina' que usan los relojeros. También utilizo 'gasolina blanca'. Antes de hacer la limpieza probar estos líquidos en un pedazo de piel para verificar que no lo despinte.
      Los pegamentos que uso son los amarillos. El mas fuerte es el 5000, luego el 3080 y el 2000. ruclips.net/user/Cechaflo
