  • So today we have a special one, with singer, songwriter, piano extraordinaire, multi-instrumentalist, solo artist, and Tedeschi Trucks Band’s own, Gabe Dixon. Gabe tells me all about growing up in Nashville, his family of music appreciators, as well as highlights from his own musical journey from childhood to adulthood. From camp talent shows to playing with Paul McCartney, to landing his own record deal and later joining TTB, we cover a lot!

Wow thanks for having Gabe on, he's such a perfect addition to the TTB family and I actually have a musician friend who knows Gabe from living in Nashville

I live in east TN now…my daughters and family take at least one road trip away every year, we went to visit friends in Denver in 2022, went to the TTB concert on Sat-Sun at Red Rocks…not even half a show and a rain, sleet and hail storm arrived. Went back the next night to see the full show, best damn decision we made, I love Red Rocks.

Such a fantastic interview. I had so many favorite parts but above all, Gabe telling us about Kofi visiting him in a dream is the thing i’ll be thinking about til the end of time. Keeping the spark going ❤

Great interview - love hearing about Gabe's process. Kofi would approve! Yes, Kofi used to practice with the cardinals, imitating their sounds!

Great job Adam! Very insightful. I was at the Warner the 2nd weekend following Kofi’s passing. It was clear Gabe’s playing was going to be “different” but the talent was obvious. His role has really broadened over time and he’s a treat to hear play and sing. Enjoyed hearing from him regarding how he got fully integrated into the band.

Yes exactly he has brought his own element to the band. Those shows after Kofi’s passing were intense and emotional for sure.

Tedeschi Trucks were in Australia in 2016 at the Byron Bay Bluesfest. Saw them twice there. Brilliant. Have tickets to see them in Sydney next week. My favourite band.

Just another point to verify what was said about the number of songs played. In 2016 when we saw them on successive days at Byron Bay, the two sets were very different. And yes most of the audience saw them on both days.

Saw them in Sydney on Saturday night - fantastic show. I didn't realise how good Gabe's voice is. Saw them last in 2016 at the Byron Bay Bluesfest. Didn't think they could improve - once again I'm wrong and happy to admit it.
