- When PC Kevin Tozer and his four-year-old German Shepherd, Floyd, is sent to help with a raid on a house which the police think is being used as a cannabis factory, his bosses give him back-up, in case the drug dealers make a fight of it. The dog team they send is PC Tozer’s father, John, and his German Shepherd, Charlie. John and Kevin Tozer are certainly London’s only father-and-son dog team and they may well be Britain’s only ones too. PC John Tozer is 58 years old. His German Shepherd, Charlie, is eight. Police dogs retire at the age of eight, so that means PC Tozer must find a replacement. Herbie is 13 [12] months old, also a German Shepherd, and the future for PC Tozer. Can Herbie make it through basic training to join London’s dog squad’s elite ranks? The raid on the cannabis factory doesn’t result in any arrests. No-one is home, but the Tozers help in the seizing of £50,000 worth of cannabis plants. As Charlie works out his final days before retiring from the Met, his handler gets involved in a mystery when someone reports an attempted armed robbery on a convenience store. Charlie finds a man locked in a storeroom, who isn’t armed, and the story ends with both the raider and shopkeeper under arrest. Suspected stolen goods were found in the shop. PC Kevin Tozer, meanwhile, gets tied up with men with knives. Firstly, he and Floyd have to persuade a young man to drop the knife he’s threatened his mother with and then they become embroiled in a car chase involving a man who is reported to have threatened a woman with a knife. Tozer and Floyd subdue the man, but no knife is found. As their German Shepherd’s play happily together, John and Kevin Tozer reveal why they never compete with one another at work - they are both simply the best!

It’s pretty awesome how the police stood up for the dog and arrested that guy. There’s no reason to go after the animal like that. Everyone’s just doing their jobs. Such sweet animals but such badasses. This show is awesome! Great find!

They will. My uncle is a police officer in the U.K, when a police dog retires, the force's first option is for the dog to live with their handler as a pet.

They should make stab proof vests for dogs (why not, they’ve got people ones)
They have them by they are quite expensive and most police don’t have the budget for them

here in the USA, a police dog's training, etc, costs about $40,000 - 120,000 a year or so, depending on where the department is, etc. threatening a police dog here will get one arrested, too.

My brother dog has a badge and a vest and no criminals want to get bitten by him because he has such a strong bite he is probably 4 or 5 years old but he loves to work and he is a very high driven dog and my brother will never choose any other k9 to work with

We may think it is mad behaviour but it takes a lot to get them to realize they have worth

My dog is a staffy and he gets SO protective of me when people he's never seen before come around. He would always sit on me or next to me. He will not leave my side. I think it's cute

Love how when he said police dog Charlie was 3 months away from retirement and the dog immediately snapped his head in his direction looking like, " human you did not just say that." LOL. Head turn was timed perfectly

Sometimes I feel the police are basically kindergarteners for adults. That man at the train station just couldn't help but throw a tantrum like a crabby toddler. Had he just cooperated, he'd been in and out there in five minutes with a friendly 'sorry for the inconvenience, have a nice day'.

Any grown man that threatens his mother with a knife should be put down like a rabid animal, for many reasons.
1 - You're a grown man, and Mommy still means enough to you to drive you that crazy.
2 - You need a knife to even think you have the upper hand against your mommy.
3 - If you're that weak, you'll never benefit society in any way.

Extremely unprofessional move made by the cops there, he had every right to be angry as he had done nothing wrong, and he was leaving the area so there's no need to escalate the situation to an arrest.

That stops illegal growers from selling their products to other people who want it and who are willing to pay a lot of money for it but it’s a problem because it’s a never ending business that people are doing it illegally and don’t have a license to sell it and they can make a lot of money selling their products for their personal gain and not caring if they kill someone because all they see is green $ in their eyes
