I can still remember those Saturdays so long ago when my friends and I rode our trusty steeds ( our bikes) to the State theatre in Kalamazoo to be part of the Roy Roders Riders Club and see Roy do the right thing and battle the bad guys and do it with style.Llittle did we know then just how much we were learning from him about morals , values and ethics that would serve us later as men and fathers. Happy Birthday Roy. We miss you.

What a great song to describe Roy Rogers as "The King of the Cowboys". Love the arrangement with the steel guitar. A class act in every way. Good job Dusty!

This is a wonderful song. Even though Dusty doesn't ever call his dad by name, you know who he's talking about. I have watched 75 of Roy's 88 starring films. He was such a great actor. Trigger is positively gorgeous! Dale was a perfect partner for Roy, it's too bad she didn't join him at Republic sooner.

I remember watching the episode of The Fall Guy where Dusty sang this song and I almost cried. Dale Evans and Dale Earnhart died the same day yet we never saw tributes to her. It was all him which was a shame. Dale and Roy were my heroes as a child. I loved Roy Rogers and his golden palomino Trigger. Happy Trails to You.

@COWBOYMACLEOD Dusty has a great voice. I will admit I was surprised he has such a nice voice and I've heard him yodel just like his dad did. As far as the best cowboy ever - I always put John Wayne in a category of his own. He didn't sing and he didn't go around mainly chasing crooks and roping cattle like Roy and Gene did. I have always loved John. However, he wore so many hats that I personally don't say he's the greatest cowboy of them all - he's the Duke of course. - Paula
