I heard that the creator of the manga was so dirt poor that after the series took off like a rocket and the money was rolling into his account in droves his bank called him asking if he was laundering money or something
@Adept Marketing Solutions Game of Throne was already that popular in 2008-2009? Season one came out in 2011. The books were popular, but not THAT popular.
No but the core of the story was there by 2008 amd 2009. Trust me. The people into game of thrones before the tv show was released were rabid back in the mid to late 2000's. It just wasn't mainstream yet, and the Walking Dead comics were established before then too, which I think influenced the art style to a degree
He deserves it. All of it
@Adept Marketing Solutions That is wrong Isayama has stated himself that he had this kind of story in his mind since he was 15 y/o and was working on it way before its 2009 debute.
@Adept Marketing Solutions that's just blatant lie, stop spreading misinformation
I never thought you'd do Attack On Titan, this is an unexpected but pleasant surprise
He said last week he was doing it
The people asked and I have delivered!
He's being saying he would
Cut the kid some slack, he might be new to the channel or something
Gordon Ramsay ah no. Guy got here after 20 mins after they uploaded the vid. Hes obviously subscribed to the channel
*So basically It's The Pigs Fault if they just stay in their places none of this would have happened*
The pig is the catalyst.
The pig is humanity, the humans are titans. It's all about food and perspective. You cannot blame the pig for trying to live.

What makes this story even more convoluted that "Eldia" is actually Africa upside down, and that "Paradise Island" is Madagascar.
I always thought it resembled Madagascar.
It's not convoluted attack on titan doesn't take place in our world
There's so much symbolism in AOT that for the average viewer it would pass over their heads. From the two main areas Elida and Marley resembling Africa and Madagascar the cradle of all civilisation to the enslaved marleyans resembling Jews in the 40s to the Wldians oppressing the Jews being German and even the 3 areas Maria, Rose and Shina resembling Atlantis and its 3 walls in mythology
@@ifeanyiozoh7474 That may end up being true, but the world being designed in that way does raise a lot of questions. You can't deny their's a resemblance.
@Arruda You mean besides the fact that he literally took a map of africa and turned it upside down.
Honestly AOT is a crazy manga and it switches genre with each arc. Sometimes it's horror, sometimes it's militant, sometimes it's battle, it's a crazy ride that unfortunately not everyone enjoys. One of my friends loved the first season, but it switched focus from titans to humans and they lost interest and didn't really come back.
That is what makes attack on Titan great imo. It shows every aspect of what a civilization being purged with Titans would do.
@Upcycle Shoes you might not like season 2 as season 1, but trust me s3 is fucking great, and when s4 comes out ( this fall- maybe later because of corona) it will be the best season you've ever seen
I thought the switch was really smart
I think it’s because once the mystery of the titans is revealed a lot of people feel either content or disappointed in the origin of the titan
That's exactly what happened to me. Loved the first season, but when it changed the story arch to this confusing founding titan other nation stuff vs humans against titans, I lost interest.
This lore and story it almost impossible to explain in such a short amount of time, and despite me having to go back once or twice to understand, he does remarkable job of explaining the lore of the titans. Amazing
You should read the manga :)
Eh, he still some very vital information wrong
if ymir died at 13 years does this mean the titan curse of death at 13 years is a myth? she didnt die of old age she died because of murder
I think the curse is simply the result of Ymir dying 13 years after getting the founding titan and has nothing to with the manner in which she died. Plus we see Both Eren Kruger and Uri Reiss physically worn down and nearing the point of death themselves after having their titans for that time. Hence why they both pass their titans on to someone they trusted.
13 years counted after she became Titan Shifter. That was after Reiner group came into Paradis Island. Which means, Reiner, Berthold and Annie are older Titan Shifter than her.
Wait does that mean if a "Random" Eldian baby get power Transfer after one of the shifter dies they'll only live for until 13? Damn, that sucks balls....
The fact that she was murdered after 13 years IS THE REASON that the Curse of Ymir exists.
Regardless if he was murdered the premise of the curse is she died 13 years after aquiring the power of the 9 titan hence the there is still a curse .you could see it with eren Kruger after he turns back into a human he wipes blood at his mouth

@@29jemo Berserk fans says hi.
Ymir's backstory is the most heart breaking piece of manga i have ever read. it read it many months ago and still vividly remember every single panel of her story. its so traumatizing, visceral and real. It makes me even sadder to realize actual real life slaves back in history had it 100x worse and their stories are never even known.
It's a long story
You havent read berserk or gantz yet, i presumed.
@@vanillathesixth gantz is a little different I've read the whole manga

One of the greatest shows ever created.
Attack on Titan is one of my favourite show
It's the only anime I watch and I really like it.
With THAT story? Pass. Fucking magic cannibalism powers? Arbitrary lifespan limits?
I had NO idea that was the explanation behind the titans, and now I know it, I'm not interested in the franchise anymore.
Just a quick add, it not particularly the consumption of a person holding a titan power, but to ingestion of their spinal fluid that gives a mindless titan the ability to revert back into a conscious being. this being the case when Ymir we know ate Marcel and got the Jaw Titan ability, while the Santa titan in the beginning was not able to do so since it ate Eren whole (besides his arm).
He didn't even eat the arm. Just severed it
So could you in theory take a big cup of spinal fluid and create multiple of that titan
I swear to god every attack in titan analysis starts with that scene where levi chops off the beast titan into bits
Fun fact in real life the bigger the organism the more heat it needs to release that's why elephants have so little hair.
In AOT the bigger the titan the hotter they become.
That's why the colossal titan has no skin and gives off so much heat, he's like a walking nuke.
Rod Reiss titan is 120 meters, he was so hot that the trees next to him cached on fire in a instant.
I love it when fiction uses real world science.
someone corrected me in the comments that the reason why elephants have so little hair is because they live in hot zones, thank you!
Stardust crusader. Yeah but the elephants live in a hot zone, thats the main reason for the relative hairlessnes.Mammuts were bigger and they had a thick hair cover due to the climate.
Tell that to the beast Titan

How anyone could think AoT is shallow baffles me
I think the Chimera Ants from from HunterxHunter would make for an interesting video
The fact that this was just 1 colony that the humans dealt with is scary. They came from the black continent so more are definitely out there.
And as strong as they were, when hearing about other creatures from the Dark Continent, the ants could have been weaklings in comparison.

It's sad how some people won't give this series a shot just because it's a Japanese Anime, it's like there is some stigma associated with watching anime.
Yeah this anime is a work of art
Yeah it's because 90% is really really bad. AOT is an outlier in this genre and it's a masterpiece
I even convinced my boyfriend to watch this series and he never watches anime but he LOVED this one
you have cringe cosplayers and fans to thank for the stigma...
@@AA-ed6ek give me a recommendation that is of the same quality? brilliant storytelling with phenomenal animation & ost
The manga got very complicated after Eren found the truth of the world. I had to read it twice to fully understand the manga.
I think the "Rules" of the titan powers create a PERFECT situation to cause drama and tension in the series. Sure the powers are OP but with the 13 year curse, the power requires you to basically FORCE someone to become a next titan shifter which is a death sentence, because even if you DON'T, the powers go to someone else, and in a war you can just trust some rando person with the power because that person MIGHT BE YOUR ENEMY. The second being the royal family being the only ones who can access the full power of the founding titan, because then you end up forcing people to have children to continue the bloodline and will then end up sacrificing them all to make sure somone retains the power, the the only way "out" of this cycle is possibly a "Destroy the world" button in the form of the Rumbling.
First anime on this channel! :D
hopefully not the last
Bcs there is so many weird creature that can be explained, like Kabane from Iron Fortress of Kabaneri.
I was actually dissapointed with the plot at the end of season 3 or 4 idk netflix confuses me, Who knew they were the enemy all along and the titans were just humans

It's a very high IQ series
Hoid's Homie a good story doesn’t need to be high iq.

Pure titans didn't exist until after Ymir's death when her body was eaten by her daughters
This was very informative but I’m not gonna lie, I’m still confused lool
I'm actually kinda pissed since this is the first time I'm hearing that an isolated organism in a freak occurance allowed a species to be weaponised against itself instead of the usual AoT summaries saying Ymir made a deal with the devil to make titans.

I fully support making a few short video's detailing each of the Nine Titans!
AoT is a great story that has left an impact upon me few stories have ever done. It has really showed the futility of vengeance; how a cycle of revenge is pointless at best and omnicidal at worst. So I'm really happy you made a video about this.
This Anime Series/Manga Reminds me of the Roman Empire, How it Became a Once Powerful empire that Rule A Huge Amount of Land To the Fall of Rome and Is Now a Shell of What it was, a Powerful nation which now Lost its former glory
That's the story of every civilization ever, including the ones who have survived till today.
The lore of this series is amazing and very complex. I'm all caught up on the manga and the amine, but since the story is so dense, it's easy to get lost. This video was very helpful in breaking down the history.
I absolutely love Attack on Titan. This Anime took me by surprise when I first saw it. Bravo. Do you think you can do a video about Tokyo Ghoul and Death Note?
For tokyo ghoul better review the manga the anime is trash
For tokyo ghoul i watched the anime out of order (1st season then Re then Re 2nd season then actual 2nd season). U have no idea how confused I was about the entire plot. Atleast the fights were cool tho.

it's why it is one of my favorite manga of all time. It changes, as any manga should to avoid becoming dull and reptitive but it does so and keeps you glued by answering just ENOUGH of your questions but still leaving more to be answered so you're hooked to the end.

thanks for making this video. @Dragon Flame I agree. I know a couple book series who’ve been on hiatus for nearly two decades. Some folks says it’s good that they’re not rushing it. I can understand two/three years, five if you really push it, but 20 man? You either have nothing else to go on or have lost interest.
Very well explained in a quick way

You should do "Ajin Demi Humans" its a very interesting premise
AoT is truly a masterpiece bc it is a kind of Historical reference as its idea is the same in deep History that is not taught to the majority
This is crazy!! I just finished rewatching this last week!
Well done, the only explanation video that I actually understood!
I'd really like to see your take on the BETA from the Muv-Luv franchise. Strange but interesting race of aliens.
Baldian3 Especially since the creator of AoT was inspired by Muv-Luv Alternative
Erwin was my favorite, he was such a good leader😔
He was a good Character but I'm glad it wasn't Armin that died
Speaking of Armin he doesnt take his titan ability seriously he just laughed it off, its ok if he cant handle that kind of ability
If he got the colossal titan Marely would have regretted ever invading the island
Erwin was my favorite too. Up until i saw Reiner from 4th Season. I will not spoil anything but Erwin is much better than Armin. Armin is a bit of "pussy". He is improved in the last season but he seems to be still a "pussy".
You open with one of the most epic fight in the series nice
