Here in India, I observed that since last 2 years entry level jobs which pay around 300 dollars a month, their job descriptions are getting more and more elaborate, they want 5 years of experience for entry level pay, they want us to manage 3-4 different departments, create own strategies and execute them, work on weekends. Example in E-Commerce you were expected to only handle 2 departments at most 2 years ago, now all the E-Comm companies want employees to handle all tasks including customer support, sales, marketing, website dev, logistics, inventory while paying the same or even lesser wages than 2 years ago. Basically in 2024 the entry level workers are actually doing the same level of work which managers used to do 5 years ago but at entry level wages! And its getting worse day by day!
People are hopeful. There’s still pockets of wealth all around America doing fine, but you drive 5 miles south or east and it’s depressing. It feels like the economy is shrinking.

I've been there. Just sent you a supper thanks. It aint much and wish it could be more. It would have but I recently had to deal with my dads funeral and have to help one of my sisters with a leaky roof. That's life, more costs that benefits. At least for us at the tail end of things.

I disagree. Entrepreneurship relies on in-demand skills and/or significant investment. It's not that the average person can't start a business because they are 'dumb', it's because they don't have the above. In demand skills cannot be learned unless industries train people. They don't, so the average person doesn’t have the opportunities to upskill. Sure, you can 'learn anything online', but let's be honest, those skills are no longer in demand. What are you gonna learn, coding? Those jobs are being outsourced to India and AI.
Think about it, in the cowboy days everyone had a business. Blacksmith, hunter, locksmith, plumber, cop, textiles. Whatever. So the average person can start a business. Problem is most of these skills are no longer accessible to average people because of corporations.
Thanks!

I don't think people realize just how bad it's getting. They are in total denial that the system is collapsing around them.
No you don't think
They still think everything is fine

The exceptions to the rule are people who grew up doing the family business so they got their 10000 hours in a skill before 20 years old.
Dude it’s all about bank loans. Skills are needed but close access to printed fiat is the game.
