Lukeness has great trooper-focused videos which bring in a particular audience, I also assume his audience may skew younger, these results are a good reminder how much we are all in little bubbles even within collecting. But I can definitely get behind Savage as the winner!

We do talk a lot about clones. So, yeah, "Clone Madness," is a thing. More often than naught, they fly off the pegs. They go up in price quickly. Just about every Black Series collector has a specific unit paint job they want to see.
Oh there's no denying they sell. They almot always sell. It's very good for the line. But as a fan, there's more to Star Wars than just clones so in a way it's almost sad to see the interest in other areas of Star Wars go down as time moves on. -Justin

I wish Hasbro managed their own public wishlist like the Landspeeder Luke one on Reddit. Running wishlists are much more interesting than brackets. If you do your own brackets, you should copy what Lukeness did. Different communities want different things and this is exactly why Hasbro shouldn’t rely on individual content creators’ polls/brackets/lists. They should have a single source of truth which they manage themselves.

@@OutOfTheBasementthey need to have a running list like the Reddit one so you could get a better idea for overall demand. One-time polls don’t give as much info. It would help to be able to filter by what’s trending, the era the character/look is from, the specific movie/TV show/game/comic the character/look is from, etc. It’s bonkers that they don’t want this data themselves on Pulse. Relying on data from only selected communities/creators is not the ideal approach.

I am a TVC guy, but love watching these March Madness brackets. I was a huge proponent of Pong Krell in TVC. Make the unique characters. Open up the body types and tooling. Hopefully that expands the possibilities down the line. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this list. And thanks to Lukeness for running it.

I mean for years if you were a fan of the prequels or clone wars, you really had a lot of dry years while the line was filled with OT and sequel figures, with the occasional Jedi or clone. I feel recently the prequel and clone wars fans have been getting more figures and we just want to be caught up with the other lines, like when you think of the OT, sequels, and Mando, we really only need smaller background aliens and characters or new remakes. The prequels still have awhile to go before we get there.
Oh I 100% agree with you. But there's much more to the prequel era than JUST clones. Which I do think Hasbro is finally starting to realize. Anakin, Padme, Super Battle Droid, Droideka, Ki-Adi-Mundi, etc. Those are all preferable to yet more clone repaints. -Justin

Forgive me into the basement but I need to vent a little . It's crazy what people are voting for . It's just constant clone trooper after clone trooper after clone trooper . No offense to those thst like them but sheesh It's so annoying. This is why it's very annoying to collect black series. Because the our fellow collector's of the line just want the same thing over and over over and over . Meanwhile other fan just want Jedis . we can't get on the same page as a group of black series collectors . It's exhausting. And it's made me as a new collector for black series very very frustrated. I don't even have an Anakin or a obi wan or qui gon or Yoda or a rex etc because ya know why ? Hasbro doesn't make them very much because most black series fans are acting like black series figures are gi JOES!!! . IM VERY VERY CLOSE TO DROPPING THE LINE . I JUST CAN'T WITH IT Anymore . Im tired of waiting on an Anakin and an obi wan etc . This line is very unforgiving to new comers I literally have a few black series figures none of them actually important characters it's crazy like LOL YA KNOW??? . Give it time, these figures take so long to make and even longer from reveal to release sometimes that they are mostly making new version of the characters you want it just takes time to get through all the other stuff they’ve already shown off or pipelined. I’d say give it till end of next year before giving up on the line cause next year is the 20th anniversary of ROTS and if they somehow don’t do a new anakin and obiwan for that anniversary then the line is really in trouble.

Vent away, my friend! It's great for the RUclips algorithm, lol. I think I actually disagree with you on a couple things. The line is actually very "good" for new collectors because Hasbro is constantly rereleasing things and keeping popular characters in rotation. A newly sculpted Anakin is indeed coming. Same with a prequel Yoda. Anyone who jumps into the line today as a new collector can easily get a decent Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Stormtroopers, Clone Troopers, etc. -Justin

And Yeah re releases are great and they do that for sure but when was the last time that they re released anakin ? Or obi wan? and that's the older body molds . im referring to keeping new figures of very important characters that have new molds on the shelf. Gonna be honest, I’d be happy with either of these two. They’re like, some of my number one wanted characters in both RotS and clone wars.
Honestly, if you guys were to do a variation of this type of fan poll, there are total variations of characters that could totally be used if you were worried about 1/1 copying anyone.
Like, force unleashed Shaak ti is also one of my greatest hopes for the gaming greats line. Maria brood, Rahm Kota, Juno eclipse, and the ultra battle damaged Vader also comes to mind.
Clone wars or rebels bo katan are still needed since they’re completely different from the mando outfit.
The OG comic Jabba, Moses Bineed would be a kinda funny one. Make an easy color swap for the Lucasfilm publishing line.
Sebulba could include an Anakin pod racing helmet since the PM Anakin only came with the backpack.
There’s no Cere, Greez, Merrin, Tarim Malacos, or really anyone from the Jedi games besides Cal and Trilla. And we still don’t even have an unmasked Trilla.
No darth sion, which could totally just be a retooling of the shirtless maul figure. No darth traya… a character that’s 90% cloak and dress.
We don’t have any of the dancers from jabba’s palace, would kill for an oola or even a three pack of Rystall, Greeata, and Lyn Me in POTF homage packaging, maybe have a deep cut like Arica(Mara Jade in disguise)
We lack literally all of the guards from jabba’s palace.
Maybe an Appo from the comic series with the Kama and paldron.
There’s a lot of characters that could be added. And honestly… I will probably make half of them if Hasbro doesn’t.

In voting in polls like this, I almost always picked new named characters. Think the only time I voted for an army builder type character over a named one was a Commando Droid. Just really want that in the line.
I am extremely happy that Savage and Shaak Ti were the final two tho. Those two are actually my top two most wanted canon figures.

Also Slave Leia over Kallus too! I need my ISB Agent lol. I’ve said this before, but I’m happy with Boushh Leia in my Jabba display. I’d buy a new Slave Leia for sure, but not as necessary, speaking for only my personal collection, of course.

I hate the message this fan votes are sending to Hasbro,and the amount of people collecting different clone repaints exclusively is starting to become a menace to the future of the Black Series line.I'm starting to feel like that if Hasbro would announce tomorrow that from now they will release different clone troopers only,this part of the fanbase would still keep the line alive for a few years at least.They could at this point just start a Haslab project named "200 000 units are ready",making the tiers "with a million more well on the way",put any price tag they want on it,and the very same people who didn't fund the rancor,because it was too "pricey",and let background alien characters pegwarm would fund that brainlessly.

I would love to see an Out of the Basement Poll of some type. Maybe a Christmas wish list? I think your audience is still pretty prequel heavy but not entirely cloners in the same way as lukeness. I think we should be able to vote on who the contestants even are to begin with.

Prequel characters ruled the day here. 41st Elite is the clone I’d be most excited for but lots of clones still needed in line. But HATE to see OT characters getting bumped. My favorites too.

Good to see these brackets getting some perspective. I'm subbed to Lukey N. and really like his content, but his majority following appears to be Clo-none obsessed... If, for some strange reason, "The Blo" took single channel polls as gospel, and let's face it, much stranger things have and do happen, then this is not exactly representative of the Kum-muu-nity as a whole. I'm hoping Mr Steven, who appears to be A: A proper collector and B: A normal human being will bring in some official "Hazza" poll that the suits will actually listen to.
And like you J, I buy every single Clo-none they make, so it's not exactly dislike, more of a need for balance.
I'm sure they wouldn't just look at one fan poll and make any massive decisions, but I do think they look at the characters and just how many votes a single character gets. Even if a character loses at 49%, that's still quite a bit of interest. I think it's overall a positive thing. -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement I can see that too. Just don't want any rash decisions being made on the spur of the moment. I think the best way forward would be to cancel all see-kwell and all pree-kwell figures, tvc McDonald's toys (and their hasgrabs) all the other 5 poa nonsense and concentrate on the remaining characters I got as a child and some more interesting goons and aliens until the OT is fully rounded out and completed 😉 👍 😀 Then we could start looking at the much less desirable areas, like the mainly dreadful shows and the odd clone.

I do like troopers, but, I don't army build (3 Appo's was my max, but, I made them individual.), which is why I'm drawn to unique designs. Phase 1 look like they were hit in the face with an axe, so they never appealed. Phase 2 and onwards, yeah. However, the last in hand figure I bought was a Bespin Han. I had an Empire Chewie and was bored with my TFA Han. Savage Opress was interesting, but, I'd have to go for a Padawaan age Maul to go with him, that would be cool!
You said that Rex was the most expensive, well, not in my go to store. He has SDCC Rex for £90, but, he has regular Cara Dune for £130.

Although the bracket style poll is fun, I personally think you should list 20 or 30 characters and allow everyone to vote their top 3 most wanted. My choices are Pong Krell, Comando Droid, and Savage Opress .

I agree! I love the clones and would definitely buy all the variants, however we definitely need more unique characters in the line. That’s why I was happy Savage won, and not just a clone who would be a repaint!

The only problem with the winners is neither of them are ones that I would buy without hesitation if I had them in my hand. I do think maybe separating troopers and characters in polls would be better for results

I very much appreciated this video. If you wanted to put together an OOTB March Madness-type bracket, I would happily participate!
* Allow people to submit lists of what figures they would like to see made and compile a bracket based on those lists.
* Limit selections to all-new figures or figures that need significant retooling. While there are clones who still need to be included in Black Series, we collectors need to let Hasbro know where we want them to invest their limited tooling budget.

Both Savage Oppress (TBS) and Pong Krell (TVC) would be amazing additions to their respective lines, same if we revert the polls. I would be more interested in Savage because I decided to prioritise Sith Masters and Apprentices for my TVC shelf outside of cool characters and definitive OT releases.
I think if Clones and some Mandalorian designs become a priority, it may affect not just the character availability but it may cheapen the overall line and that goes for TVC as well. Definitive representations and availability of core characters are still lacking.
And considering how good of a job (NOT) Hasbro has done with accuracy on some of them, then it would be for naught.
If I had to choose I'd definitely go Savage! But you're right, both would make fine additions. -Justin

The final two would be awesome figures and I hope we get them in the next year. It’s still wild that has 1 Rex got so far. I’d rather have old man Rex from rebels before phase 1 but also a rerelease/retool of phase 2 would be the best. …and Pong Krell would be so wild and amazing

Not only is it cloner obsession, it's Clone Wars obsession. Out of the top 16, only 2 were not a part of the Prequel Era (Max Rebo and Huttslayer Leia). Out of the top 8, half of them were clones.

Could not agree more with your statement about the overboard obsession with clones Justin.
I will be honest and say I didn’t even know this poll was happening despite being subscribed to Lukeness’ channel.
I won’t say much here other than these results are indeed “wacky” and I would certainly be advocating for a better balance of OT characters even being on the bracket. There is a major bias towards the clone wars stuff here just in terms of numbers of characters on the bracket.
Oh and Lobot for sure is the correct pick there. Not even a question….

I am behind Savage as a winner, but Pong Krell got robbed! I do agree, it should have been more focused on "newer" characters and character molds. With the new 3.0 Clone body, I have a feeling that a majority on the list as far as clones are concerned may get made, but some of the clones got pushed WAY too much.

I find similar issues with a vocal minority of Lego Star Wars collectors. Clone army builders seem to have dictated a lot of the product releases in recent memory and I myself am not a prequels guy.

As King of the Cloners, even I was astounded seeing Pong Krell and the commando droid lose to clones. I definitely think a lot of this has to do with the much younger audience Lukeness’ channel attracts. If you guys did a similar thing the results would surely be much more favorable to the OT, and I would be raging at Lobot beating out Pong Krell 🤣 -Tommy

Why would we get a lobot, ROTS Anakin, Max Reebo or a retooled Obi if people just want more troopers with different color stripes on them, why would hasbro do it? Love troopers but we have been getting too much clones repaints lately IMO.

See the Transformers had the same problem with g1 literally for years nothing but G1 but when the War For Cybertron trilogy came out we pretty much got a whole reboot for the toyline, yeah the first two years were pretty much g1 but once we got into the Kingdom line we started to see Beast Wars characters in the line many if wich haven't had an update in years , Then came the changing of the guard as the old team left for projects and a new team came in during Legacy Trilogy as the transformers fans went from seeing nothing but g1 to seeing a good mixed of other characters from the broader spectrum of the Transformers multiverse like Armada to Victory to Transformers Prime to G2 and to Animated and I really do think the star wars team needs to do what the transformers team is doing because whatever they're doing is definitely working out for them .

Like I said, Clone Wars brain rot has taken hold. Clone Wars is wonderful, but I think the line suffers from an exaggerated demand for clones and Clone Wars’ characters. I think Star Wars is too vast at this point to focus so extensively on just one tv series or type of character.
Luckily we have things like Anakin, Padme, Super Battle Droid, Droideka, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Hammerhead, etc. on the way! Even some EU stuff like The Last Command 4-pack. -Justin

Personally, sure, i'd want him to win just because he's a clone; they're all special bois to me, i'd be just as delighted if Phase 1 Rex had won than the 212th Airborne Trooper. But Howzer is special - he's the first time a clone woke up and went against his orders. Not because he's immune due to being deffective like the Bad Batch, not because his chip got removed like Rex, not because he was a by-the-book-clone like Wilco - he went against orders because the orders were wrong. Did it knowing full well not all of his brothers would do the same, and he paid for it. He's not just *a* clone, he's a *hero*.

To be fair, I think Howzer winning over Neo makes sense. People have more of an attachment to Howzer because we've gotten to know him in the Bad Batch. Neo is a clone who the majority wouldn't even know exists. I didn't even know he was a named clone commander until I watched this video.
I get your reasoning, but Neo is such a nothing character to most people.

They will NEVER make Oola it's such a waste of a slot to even offer her as a choice. Do you think that if they were ALLOWED to make Oola by Lucasfilm they would have let the rancor campaign fail? No, they would have thrown together a quick render and offered her as a tier. They didn't and it failed, even considering the hashtag no oola no moola, they knew, and they couldn't do it because disney/Lucasfilm won't let them.

I wish we got a great Grievous in the beginning or an update was announced because the one we got is so small, weak and flimsy that I’ve had to use a stand for him. It also doesn’t help the Bandai model kit one is pretty costly too 😕
