The edge don’t held up as strong as other super steel, But it’s very easy to sharpen. It’s not my most fav knife, but it goes where I go, if it is not in my bag, it’d be in my camp or truck. I trust it with my life’.

Awhile back i ordered a clone of this knife on Amazon in D2 steel, dark green micarta handles + brown HD leather sheath. It was only $69.99. It holds a razors edge a lot longer than most blade steels. Definitely better than 440, 1095, 5160, 420hc.

A quick summary of the Becker line: Bk 7, light medium sized blade that excels at slicing and stabbing. Ok for chopping but not ideal. Bk 2, short fat blade. Ideal as a compact demolition tool due to the extra thick blade stock. Not suited to chopping. Bk 9, large nine inch blade. Ideal for yeti beheadings due to the extra length and weight. Stabbing and slicing capabilities are on par with the Bk 7 while far exceeding it in chopping power.
I wonder when the meme about the slipperly handle will die. To test this, I covered my hand in oil and stabbed and chopped full force without a problem. The geometry of the handle sinks right in to the palm.
Great video. I had to break down and get the micarta scales for mine and it really made a huge difference. The wrap didn't feel good to me ... Ahhh Yeaa !!
I notice you have a problem with ka-bar grips. I do not have the problems you describe with the grivory handles. If you are going to modify the grips with adding rubber (which I think sucks) you may as well put the micarta handles on and test them. Despise the sheaths they come with. Problem with kabar is the upgrades needed. Micarta Grips and kydex sheath run about 130 bucks or more. That said, its worth every penny.
I'm telling ya instead of ranger bands try the Wilson's griptape they use for tennis rackets and baseball bats it has a real sticky inside so you don't have the sliding issue that you would get on a smaller handle with the ranger band and as far as the grippieness it's fairly similar. I would think the cost would be less too but I'm not certain on that................. .FUCK
Say Heah Tac'ie My People , Yeah, I really like the BK-2. But there still are some BK-2 with the pointy pommels which are a 1/4" shorter. I got the flat pommel and the 5 1/4" blade. The handle being slippery is bullshit. I never had problems with mine. Infact I have a friend that carved spoons with his. But this weekend I decided on taking my Rodent 5 with my Woodsnan Pal Premium Machete. and my newest Folding Saw my WoW Folding Saw, Yeah, its real fast, prolly the fastest saw I have once you get into the rythm. Because it cuts on the back stroke I also got the Scabbard with a extra saw blade. Yeah, Between my Rodent 5 and the BK-2, Hands down I would pick my Rodent 5 everyday of the week and twice on Subday. Tac'ie, Seriously Bro, Its awesome and worth waiting for. Infact when I had mine made, I asked to have mine made slightly thinner. I knew that would raise my Saber Grind and make it a better slicer and that's what I wanted, a knife that cuts good. Infact, Tac'ie, I'm more than happy with my Rodent 5. Infact it's one of my Fav. Belt Knives. I carry it in a G.R.E. Dangler Leather Sheath. I really love my Rodent 5 and I would strongly recommend everyone to get one. The Rident 5 is a tich larger than the Ratmandu, I have both. That's why I highly recommend it.,,.p

they are great knives....however when i recieved mine the handle barely fit my hand, looked bigger in pictures and reviews.....but i also have large hands, i wear a xxl in gloves
I've grown out of the thick knife faze and just seeing you use this knife looks awkward. I got rid of all my big knives, the biggest I have is my Cold Steel SRK which feels huge to me now LOL , can't imagine using that BK2

I got the same knife I took the coating off and k-bar told me that warrantee is now no good cause I took the coating off . But the coating comes off anyway . I will never buy another k-bar .
there is NO way i would chose this over my esee 5. The price difference is the handles that suck on this knife. My esee 5 is my top dog on my hip blade for hiking or camping. Junglas in my backpack.

Had the ranger band and hockey tape. Didn't like it so I did a home made stipple job with a soldering iron on my bk2 grips. It came out great.
I recommend the Micarta handle scales man. big Improvement in the grip Department. keep up the good work Brother Tac!

Nice test on a popular blade. I don't have one....yet but seriously thinking about getting a larger fixed blade.
Great blade tac might be a idea to take heat gun to the ranger band to melt it to the handle this will stop it from moving back and forth
