- The plaintiff says the defendant is her mother, who she loves, but she doesn’t like her stepfather. She claims he was physically and verbally abusive to her mom, and he was convicted after the plaintiff testified. She says her mom crashed her car. The defendant says she doesn’t remember if her husband was ever convicted, and she claims the accident was not her fault.

whether she did time is neither here nor there. She still went through the system of being arrested, having picture taken ,searched and fingerprinted not him. Also it was said that he went to jail for fraud nothing to do with domestic violence and abuse

It might be because of the abuse in the home. She probably was looking for love. Her mom is so battered and very passive. She probably was in a position to guide her. The mom was too busy dodging his abuse. This is sad. I’m glad the daughter defended her mom. I don’t condone violence however this was self defense totally.

Story of my life smh. She definitely didn’t take up for her daughter.
To be honest. That’s what a lot of battered women do. I still to this very day remember my dad raising his hand to strike my momma. What you don't understand is that she probably wants that freedom but isn't confident enough to act on it and prolly has stockhome syndrome. I once saw a story of a woman who called her father to defend her from her violent husband. The father killed the male and the daughter became a WITNESS for the PROSECUTION!
I see this all the time too. A friend of mines has a sister that was involved in a domestic violence incident and their brother got killed defending her against her baby daddy. My friend said he doesn’t talk to his sister anymore because she stayed with the man after he murdered her brother!

Boy can I relate to this! I had a stepfather whom I had to put my hands on 2 separate occassions because he had pissed my Mom off. Mainly I was protecting her. She married him so he thought he could tell me what to do but the main thing that irked me was he always picked at me. My Mom never did anything about it. I was extremely glad I was leaving for college because I was premeditating how I was going to kill him.

Me too. She seems like she’s showing early signs of dementia, not cognitive of where she is at times. My mother had the same look. She was in accidents that she didn’t remember until I had a diagnosis. Scary for them to drive. Could be from the abuse…

Yeah you are right I did the same thing myself the other day only because it would have threw me way off course and I didn't know the area but it least the bus driver sit still for me to make a illegal left turn in front of him but if he would have took off when the light turned green me and my girlfriend probably would have been injured. Mothers try to keep the peace in a household and end up sacrificing everybody in it but the abuser! When the children start acting out, the mothers always want to force the children to accept the decisions made by the abuser as law of the land! Stockholm syndrome is very difficult to remove from someone who has been conditioned to accept it. Judge Mathis should also provide counseling for those who find themselves in his court showing these basic signs as this could save the lives of those involved.

Its not always easy to leave an abuser they literally create a trauma in someone’s life .
