    Thank you so much for this - fascinating. I was a kid raised there and by the 70s when I was young, I think some of these churches had already gone. It's a reminder of how great Gorton was until systematically destroyed by the council.

    I've been buried in Gorton Cemetery for 35 years, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I'm looking forward to my funeral there.

      They call it the doctors cemetery, because they bury their mistakes.

    I lived opposite the baptist church and went to St Marks in the 1950s

    I was christened at St Marks plus it was the church where Man City started off

    One of Ian brady and myra hindleys victims is burried in their Pauline reed
