    I love how Abracadabra has all these attacks named after card games played with the French suited deck, then there's just "Reverse Card". If Moon of Mahakala counter attacks got names would be perfect for that attack.

    Gomorrah the most volatile of all the infernal summons. And Bayonetta 3 was supposed to be his Redemption after that betrayal in the second game. To be fair her watch broke at the end of this game so the contract with him was nullified

    • @UmbranLumen
      @UmbranLumen  Год назад +40

      To me, it always seemed like the Umbran Watch was merely the source of their power to be able to control summoned demons, not the contract itself. This would explain demons like Malicious, who don't follow the contract after it is made. Either way, once it broke, it was over as she had no power to hold Gomorrah.

    • @StarrySkykes
      @StarrySkykes Год назад

      Gomorrah is raw primitive power. If Bayo lose control over him, Gomorrah unleash his true nature... So its useful Demon but dangerous to hold too.

    Weaving Dress has a small likelihood of referring to a dress ship, which is a (typically leading) ship decorated with flags in commemoration of some kind of event. Considering the dress shape the tentacles make, it's probably just referring to that and isn't some kind of obscure pun.
    Also, "Brush Dumper" is called "Burashu Danpa" in Japanese. "nn" is one of Japanese only isolated consonants without a vowel attached, so it is often used to replace an "m" against a consonant in when converting something to katakana, but this also reveals the possibility of it being a misinterpretation of the word where it's actually meant to be "Brush Damper", meaning something that has a reducing or inhibiting effect. Brush could just be referring to long grass typically found near bodies of water, which fits with other attack names being related to bodies of water.

    Ignis Araneae: The weapon's Demon Masquerade is based on Arachne. She used to be a normal human woman until she betrayed the gods and attempted suicide. This caused the goddess Athena to curse her into a spider after hanging. Arachne is also a common enemy in Devil May Cry 3, of which Bayonetta spun off from that series.
    Tartarus: Puppet shows were common in Renaissance age France, and used to entertain children. It makes sense in context of the weapon and Abracadabra since this is French Rosa and Bayonetta we're talking about. After this video, I've come to realize the quotes heard by Bayo and Jeanne whilst engaging in it's finisher are "Un, deux, trois! Welcome to the happy puppet show!" I don't know French that much, so I learned something new.
    Abracadabra: The name is usually said by magicians during tricks. It parallels to Bayonetta(Beta 4)'s uniform, despite relating to thieves. The Demon Masquerade form with the red and blue colors, and Miticantculi being twins could initially reference Agni and Rudra of Devil May Cry 3. Same goes with how bats usually form in packs when secluded in caverns, before heading out to hunt prey when night arrives.
    Cruel Altea: The lion leitmotif is understandable since the weapon was inspired from Voltron. Altea was also the name for an alien species allied with the main cast in the anime and 2017 Netflix reimagining(animated by the same studio behind Avatar The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, Studio Mir) Legendary Defender. Labolas could also allude to either the panthera or canis family of animals reincarnated as the demon, albeit with some slight variations.

    Two things
    1. I feel the guns masquerade rage lacks oomph, like when it ends I always feel like it's missing one big last hit or something.
    2. As a fun fact of all the masquerade rages the robbit libido deals the least damage (when all the hits connect) of any masquerade rage. Its damage is the same if you have a damge buff though (such as the one you can get from holding leg attacks)

    • @vanilla8956

The form changes are my favorite, with references to monsters and cultures- Fun Fact: Abracadabra’s bat split form references Rokurokubi, a vampire in Japanese mythos. Gomorrah and Phantasmaraneae : Japanese Kaiju Movies and the legends of Jorogumo y Tsuchigumo
    Baal and Malphas: Winged egyptian goddesses such as Ma'at and Isis, bird headed egyptian gods such as Horus and Ra, and the frog headed goddess Heqet
    Umbran Clock Tower and Mictlantecuhtli brothers : European Architecture , European Marionettes , and the association with bats with darkness and vampiric humans turning into bats.
    WarTrain Gouon : This one is a little different , but it showcases the advanced technological knowledge of the Umbra throught Inferno, this can be connected to how Ancient Chinese military figures are characterized for their war strategy , this a why a war machine like demon was chosen, fitting this area.

      @@UmbranLumen It may only be my speculation but at this point it’s really no secret that Kamiya is a massive nerd of old movies, anime and especially tokusatsu properties. Viewtiful Joe and Wonderful 101 have shades of Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, Bayonetta takes inspiration from a lot of Magical Girl stuff from Sailor Moon to Cutie Honey tho leaning more on the latter, and his upcoming Project GG seems to be his love letter to Ultraman I would suspect.

    Poison is completely different from venom.
    Venom destroys cells while poison affects them in many different ways. Such as rashes boils, and scars. Venom stays inside the animals body like hypodermic syringe tube with stinger, teeth or spikes acting as the needle. While poison is usually covers the body such as the poison dart frog or poison ivy/oak. Fun fact if you touch poison ivy or oak you have short window to wash off the poison without suffering skin damage though it might also depend on the poison. Venom on the other hand if your bit or stung your gonna need an epiPen which are very expensive or antivenin which is rare and also very expensive in the thousands. And not all antivenin work with all venomous snakes. Also some snakes can be both poisonous and venomous. With the above attributes. Also ingesting poison can lead the death just as venom can but attacking you digestion system instead. A very unpleasant one at that. Like if you swallowed poison ivy oil your inside neck would tighten up and inflammation causing breathing issues not to mention your stomach reactions to the poison

    • @UmbranLumen
      @UmbranLumen  Год назад +1

      I was mainly referring to it in a casual sense since people typically call venom poison. It's not accurate, but language does that sometimes. Maybe the move should have been called Poison Cycle lol
