This is quiet amazing. Can this system be deployed in a shallow river with rock outcrops as well as scanning underwater features? Does the drone also capture the image of the water surface simultaneously?
Yusuf, is the question about mountain river? Not sure that echo sounder on the rope will work well here. If the water is clear, I would prefer to use green laser (Riegl bathy LIDAR or something similar). Capturing the images simultaneously is not a problem, but better to do that in separate flight from higher altitude.
There is a displacement between the drone's GPS and echo-sounder, but those are eliminated in post-processing. For more detailed information please visit integrated.ugcs.com/bathymetry or send a message to ugcs@ugcs.com

Can this solution be used in near shore ocean areas, namely the surf zone? Woul this system be able to deal with the waves and the general turbulence, or is this a solution that is just for laker or river environments with calm water.
It works in the surf zone. It is one of the standard application scenarios. Heavy housing keeps the sensor vertical in waves. You may contact me and I'll send you a case study and link to data samples.
@@alexey-sph-engineering How can I exactly reach out to you ? My company is currently looking at ways we can incorporate this into our near shore bathymetric applications.
Using a boat is the traditional approach for bathymetric surveys - but the usage of a boat is not always possible - for these extra situations a drone can be applied.
@@sphengineering Hanging the Echosunder like that i think it's not good idea consider the difference in horizontal position between the echosounder and the RTK rover. Hanging the echo sounder using a rope can cause the echosounder to swing due to the influence of water and the speed of the drone.
@@penananuba At recommended speed the sensor will be behind the drone for less than 30-50cm, which is pretty acceptable for bathymetric surveys. Also, that lag can be easily compensated for in post-processing.

This is impressive 👌🏾
thank you!

cool
First view, first comment, first like!
Is there a fixed distance between the drone's centerpoint and transducer? It is an impressive innovation.
transducer is on the rope, so the distance is more or less :-) fixed
there may an error in mapping the depth coordinates as the sonar and drone are not at the same location.

Amazing
Hello Alexey,
What model echosounder was used in this demonstration?
Echologger ECT400 with our data logger

Why not to just some sort of a drone but like a boat? Is there any product like that in the market?
Using a boat is the traditional approach for bathymetric surveys - but the usage of a boat is not always possible - for these extra situations a drone can be applied.
How do you compensate the position error between drone and transducer
most customer's ignore it as it is pretty inside of standard accuracy requirements for bathymetric surveys. But you can account it in post-processing.
Hugh jump in bathimetric survey !!!
Cuanto sale el equipo completo? Ustedes venden?
Quizás te interese la fotobatimetría
Why not use telemetri instead of using echousounder?
Could you clarify your question or idea, please?
