- The Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is facing growing pressure, after his party took a battering at the polls in the local elections.
The biggest upset, saw Labour's Richard Parker snatch victory in the West Midlands from Conservative mayor Andy Street -- a result described by Sir Keir Starmer as phenomenal.
After a partial recount, 1,508 votes was all that separated the two candidates.

Oxford is doing really really really well at the moment. I grew up there and in the last few years it’s improved SO much. Cowley Road used to be such a sht hole and now it’s actually nice. There’s way less traffic, everywhere is cleaner

I'm sick of political promises which failed eg. The winter of discontent, Blair spinning immigration, Brown destroying company pensions and of course the mining unions failing to accept 90% of their demands.

Labour mayoral success 😡....south Bristol has been under labour and a labour local mayor for long enough...theyve ruined our area...council housing in delapitated conditions, roads and sidewalk potholed violence increase....all the while OUR LABOUR mayor pockets thousands, goes on expensive holidays and puts much needed funds meant for the people into his own little ventures....im not keen on Conservatives but after living with labours local choices for a good few years now id be more than happier to have the whole character cast from Alice in Wonderland take charge with mad hatter as mayor.... everyone complains...well STOP voting same old same old....its time to vote someone....ANYONE other than either of these two parties.

Richard Parker was born in Bristol and moved to the West Midlands in 1985. He has a house in Bromsgrove and a flat in Birmingham.
Andy Street was born in Banbury. His family moved to Birmingham when he was an infant and later to Solihull. In 1985, he moved to London and later to Milton Keynes, then Kent, returning to Birmingham around 2011. He now has a home in the West Midlands and shares a home in Snowdonia with his life partner.

If half of that vote goes against Labour party candidate because of Kier Starmer stance on Israel/Palestinian war in Gaza than 75 of Labour party MP will lose seats even Workers party or like minded independent candidates don't win. It does matter who'll be beneficiary of protest vote but Labour will be on losing side for sure. Labour party can be biggest party in next general elections but they will not have 325 seats.
