I tell you a secret as an unicum: even if you aim well, you can and you will bounce and even if you load gold, you can and you will bounce.. just because you load gold it won't mean you will pen everything everywhere
Also if you dont want to play certain tanks which are lets say meta you are in a world of pain

The reason its stats are so weak is that it has a hidden feature that allows you to switch to the enemy team and win, should your team capitulate.

fun fact: this tank has the hull armor of the celere sahariano, which was supposed to be the italian version of the crusader tank. more scpecifically, after the italians fought against the crusader tanks, they wanted to make their own version of it, and made celere sahariano to combat those british cruiser tanks

actually they wanted their tanks to be fast way before ww2, their doctrine specifically required medium tanks to be fast enough for exploitantion, the only reason they were not as fast as british tanks is weaker engines (and they already knew they weren't going to be fast enough due to faceing BT-5s in spain). the issue is they didn't have an engine that filled all the requirements they wanted, and they didn't want to copy or import a foreign design.
and development of the medio celere (and the celere sahariano that followed from it) started after they faced the T-34 in 1941, not the cruiser tanks in 1940. and this can be seen with the fact they added sloped armour before they changed the suspension system, and increases speed by use of a more powerful engine, while still useing M14/41 style suspension. meaning they were copieing soviet tank design not british.
aditionally the suspension system used by the sahariano, while initially seeming to be based off the christie suspenision systems of the T-34 and british cruiser tanks (and often mistakenly claimed to be so by many english sources), it is infact identical to the italian style torsion bar suspension first seen on the L3/38. additionally the blueprints of the sahariano sho torsion bars. aditionally it has return rollers. the vehicle thus has nothing in common with the crusader other than being a medium tank intended for speed, but the same can be said for the M13/40 and M14/41 (and M15/42) these only fail due to the limitations of the italian industry (and the nationalism of italian leadership).
they were intended for africa, and thus the british, but not the cruiser tanks specifically, but because the added speed was not percieved to be useful in the italian mountainous terrain. which is why it was cancelled after the loss of tunisia.
some interesting facts about the vehicle tho, it orginally had a 47/40 gun. but this was already considered to be obsolete. at the time, the 47/48 and 57/54 were being tested as possible replacements. but when it was desided 75mm guns with HEAT would be better, a new turret was ordered for the sahariano that was never designed before the project was canceled (or atleast the designs have been lost).

If you notice how on the second game as he’s driving back to defend his base his mouse shakes around crazily for 3 seconds, on stream that was him seeing the T29’s name and he freaked out and it was beautiful!

I appreciate the information. I was thrilled to upgrade to the 90/62, started getting 1.5k damage games. Put the stock gun back on and loaded gold. Had my first 3k damage game. Keep up the hard work QB!

Nice vid, confirms exactly what I had discovered already (Hong Kong server where I play got the Italians a little earlier): this thing is tragic and no match for a T-29 if you play free-to-play. The only good thing is it's armor, but that may change as soon as more players figure this one out.
Playing this as a pseudo medium helped me a lot. It has lower mobility than the tier 7 italian medium but makes up for it in dpm and effective turret armor using the gun depression. It’s honestly a fun vehicle, i am pleasantly surprised :)
I personally think that i would use the upgraded gun just cuz it has more penetration. The rate of fire loss aint that big deal for me cause im not usually the most aggressive heavy player on heavy flanks
Saying that 240HP damage per shot reminds me of when i had 180HP Damage on my T-43 on tier VII

the Veterans name makes total sense, one of a services members favorite places to go off base, the food trucks. Looks like he really liked the taco trucks, must have been stationed in El Paso

The session I had day one with this was awesome. 31 games 71% wins. Averaging about 950xp per game. Over 6k WoT rating (which is unheard of for me haha).
It just really works for some reason, it bounces a lot (even though it probably shouldn’t). 2600dpm (fully kited out).
It’s honestly the only tank I’ve played in a long time that I can honestly say was fun and enjoyable.
I see so many people memeing it, saying it’s worse than the tiger P and all that but I really don’t understand why. It just works (no Todd Howard).
Watched the Twitch stream today. It was refreshing to see that if QB doesn't focus, he too can have less than stellar games. Course he didn't get to 62% win rate without the ability to outplay almost anyone one on one, so once he did focus he was back to winning. I never stop learning from QB.
Been Loving my t-29
Thanks QB. My plan, grab the T29 and hunt some P.88 before I take Chuck and his Santa's Girls crew out for the grind. Every tree has a DW-2 heavy to punish you. Mine is already loaded up with extra gold. As to the consumables, my first rack of equipment is more survival-oriented, Hardening and Configuration, along with rammer. Like you I see this grind being less painful hunting mediums, and with either gun, sniping isn't really an option. So the crap view range will have to be worked around. I have plenty of blueprints to step up after grinding the modules, so I won't hesitate to burn them at the earliest opportunity.

I'd agree with the consensus... play this one, like you play the P43.bis - aka as a medium. It's okay and the rounds shoot faster than the P43 with good DPM. You not going to puncture actual armor tanks without the gold and the stock gun is better in every aspect - aside from lower pen.
The general shape of this tank reminds me of the Valentine.
The fact that I needed binoculars to get full view range on a heavy medium plus the bad power to weight just cripples the tank becoming a med/heavy.
Exactly why I like the KV85, you have options depending on how you feel like playing on the day. I think I'll enjoy this tank.

@@battlev1nce467 only the hull armor is better for the tiger p, the tiger 1 is much better in every other way. Waay better gun, better mobility, more hp, more gun depression, better track health.

In short, it's utter garbage. I would recommend to upgrade the tracks first or enjoy the turning radius of an oiltanker.
I grinded it yesterday, this warps the experience a lot and makes it look better because you face mostly other P.88, having to grind this against Tigers and IS's is a whole other story.
Do these tanks come with traditional complain about everything Italian commanders?

I used blueprint fragments/free experience to go straight past it to the Tier VIII. I still prefer the Bisonte to the standard Tier VIII, about to try the T9.

When I looked at the armour profiles of the Italian heavy’s I was like Hank hyperventilating in the elevator
I was 1v3 against a T29 and two Carros in a 703 II yesterday, and I mopped the floor with them. The Carros couldn’t pen, and while they had some funky angles, the base armor isn’t good.

I LOVE The way QuickyBaby admits that he is a "Pay To Win" player. Players who are willing to spam gold rounds, fast track their tanks to the top equipment and pay for crew training are Part Of The Game. I get so tired of seeing people in chat crying about it.
I really like it, the gun handling and mobility isn't bad. Except that HP pool. It's very bad at trading, you're relying on other heavies or mediums to distract and spot for you, imo.
Seems like a VK3002 D in heavy version with italian armor like p43 Ter. Bad pen but the DPM is amazing

Hated it that tank too. Had a few good games but sold it asap, luckily I never played it stock.
Playing it stock was pretty miserable, but I am enjoying it now with the top engine and gun.
I've been playing against 4 carro's every match for last 2 days! Now I understand that as a medium why all my shots were not working! First me and high dpm, that's my London if tank

The bigges drawback of the Carro P.88 is that it uses a 90mm gun. If it had an option for a 105mm it would be much better.

I got the upgraded gun so I didn't need to spam the goldz ;) Just hide longer before you pull the trigger, like you will do in the tanks to come in this line. And the tank is not for the gogogo type of quackyboyz, give it time and it'll be a nice tank to play. Hardening, rotation and binocs works for me.
I love the carrot even though a lot of people seem to say its bad.
I don't know why, but it seems to work for me. Maybe because most of my games have been at tier VII as there are a lot of carrot pees in match making at the moment. Against tier VII the armor works well and even the stock grind wasn't that bad. Sure, it felt like TOG at the start, but after upgrading it, it doesn't feel that bad.
Hi, can you help me. I heard from Quickybaby, the best first T10 tank is Obj. 430U, I know it had been nerfed, is it still good?
This tank could have been alright if it had a higher top speed and higher view range. Tha way you actually could play it as a medium/heavy hybrid.

SO THATS WHY THE OTHER CARRO WERE SHOOTING SO MUCH FASTER THAN ME! i have 5 skill crew and food/equipment yet the carros i were facing still reloaded like 1-2 seconds faster than me, because im using the top gun xD
Fun fact: If you want to hide the fact you've got a stock turret, you can just throw on the HP buff equipment, since it gives you the exact same HP increase.

This seems to be the sweet spot of this branch, i persume.
Slow as wet week so very unforgiving if you pick the wrong flank. Cannot trade with other heavies due to poor alpha and no armor, cannot compete with meds due to speed and view range (you will be outspotted by almost everything even with optics). Spawl liner is almost a must as without it you lose 1 or 2 or more crew members each and every time arty splashes withing 20 meters of you. You can make it work in a tier 7 game but anything higher and you'd better pray your team is great and carries you.
The first gun does not work at all when you play against tier 9s or even 8s. Even if you use premium ammunition, you won't pierce the lower plate on an 112 or an E75 from 10m. Also, you struggle with piercing a turret of an enemy P.88. When it comes to the second gun, you still struggle with piercing a lower plate of a Defender/Object 252 using premium ammunition (240mm penetration).
Premium fact: In the Preview of the Month: February 2021 in WoT Asia site, word "Premium Shop" appears in 8 of 9 events.

This "heavy" tank has the same frontal armour, pen and alpha damage as the P43.ter medium and it only has 150HP more. Its obviously in the tech tree as a blueprint/XP sink.
to be fair this tank has a good armor profile, but still it’s pretty weak against higher tiers
Fun fact when i unlocked the last gun i had way better games. Seems like ir has some hidden stats or something. Snapshoots like the previous gun never could. I was suffering to grind this shit like most people, but when i unlocked the last gun and tracks it became one enjoyable tank to play. 3k dmg and 5 kills ace tanker game.
I need 20k more exp to finish this grind. It has been very painful and not a tank I will be looking back on fondly.

I really don’t like the decisions that WG made when deciding the specs of the upgraded gun on this tank. An upgraded gun should have better dispersion, aim time, penetration, and DPM than the stock gun, unless the upgraded gun has more alpha, but in this case with both guns having the same alpha, it makes no sense that the only advantage the upgrade gun gets is better penetration, but you have you give up a DPM, dispersion, and aim time. Makes no sense. An upgraded gun, should be an upgraded gun, not a worse gun.

I never even bothered with the top gun. The stock gun is way better if you are ok with shooting premium. I actually had a lot of good games in it. But the Pregetto 54 is all around a lot more fun.

man i swear. each team has about 4-5 of these. and im grinding the M6 that cant pen them on the stock gun (not even gold pens their front) so it kinda sucks
This Tier VII vehicle is a transitional step from medium to heavy tanks. Its game-play is more like that of the mediums, but with better armor to help you feel more confident in close combat. This is a versatile and maneuverable tank that can attack and retreat quickly, allowing you to make a notable contribution on any map. It’s also the only new Italian heavy that doesn’t have a modified autoreloader :/
heavies shouldnt have the view range to spot lights or hidden meds, its just a shame this is only the case at low tiers.

Yes I feel the Carro is quite bad and after a couple of battles I free exp through it
The hardest part is not how good or bad is the tank, the match making is putting us 80% of the time with 2 tiers above which are shooting with heat or apcr, 90% of the players on tier 9 and 10 are shooting apcr and heat..
Guess I'll stick to the P43 bis for now =(

Italian tier 6 has 240 alpha and 2000 dpm!
I'm at the terrible tier V atm: A tier V version of the T-28 without alpha, without accuracy, without armor and it has a huge silhouette. Not having any fun in it but at least it's fast. xP
Tier IV was atrocious too. Funny enough the tier V that leads to the mediums is much more enjoyable.
Use the optics! trust me, I already got 3 ace tankers..
I've seen these out for two days now and I'm not impressed. Each morning after I finish my daily missions I get into various tanks that I don't play too often, just to remind myself of how they play. Each time I came up against a Carro I was in a lower tier medium and had no problem taking them out. My tier 6 VK30.01D ran circles around two of them and took them both out with enough hit points left to take out their one arty as well. Aggressive players with fast tanks will do well against the Carro!
Smack the side with yall KV-2s because there are a LOT of these around.
the T8 one's side is also pennable for the KV-2
Have fun grinding this pasta tank and feel sad as KV-2 takes your HP to the garage :)
I have been having so much fun playing against them because their armor is so squishy and the sides are just a godsend to the KV-2.
If it gives anyone perspective as to the side armor, I one-shot one of these yesterday in my KV2.

I'm going to try it with a Camo Net and play it as a Medium like you suggest since it's stationary Camo rating is high for a Heavy- if I get one. WG is making a lot of cash on the premiums. This is an Opt Out Tank. GL...
This tank might be better with a Turbo mounted on it.
