I'm free to play and I still preferred the stock gun. Its pen is a little low especially compared to the upgraded gun, but its still perfectly usable for tier 7. The DPM and accuracy make up for the lower pen.
I always use the accuracy boost for 500k that gives me 20% better accuracy in the end and use a commander that also has an accuracy perk. Then you have 30% better accuracy and that hits pretty hard. I personally like the first gun but the second one is my favourite. I get tier 8 enemies too often when I play this tank. I mean some can be fight easily but others not. That is why appreciate the second gun. But I need to figure out how to really play this tank when it comes to the positioning
Seems like the first gun would be nice with two loadout mechanics. You load mostly apcr for tier 8 and 9 matches, and load a bit more AP for the rare case when you meet equal or lower tier tanks
3marked this tank with the topgun and NO gun rammer. In my mind I had to play it only as a support, sneaking shots and giving spots, biding my time between reloads. Thinking about going back to it and changing the style after this video :)

It's never too late to do a review of the tank, I must say, this is one of the most underrated heavy tanks in my opinion, it has good armor, good gun, good DPM, good speed, everything is good if RNG doesn't troll you :D

I firmly believe that the 240 alpha damage and 5-6 seconds reload is the perfect sweetspot for Tier 7, even with low penetration.
I am an above average player, 1700 wn8 with a mix of sometimes very good and sometimes very very bad games. But with vehicles like the Carro 88, T25/2, VK 30.02 D and T28 HTC I was able to constantly hit at least 2,5k+ damage E V E R Y game. Lowest winrate is 58 on the VK and highest is 70 on the HTC (all over 100 games played) and even the games I lost were usually very very successful. Leo was very good, too.
The base gun may have very low pen on the Carro, but the higher dpm and much better accuracy will allow you not only to win many trades, you can also snipe a lot of damage on weaker targets. and you still pen weakspots on every Tier 8 turret.
When I played this tank I just used the stock gun and it was no issue.
i never like using premium rounds if I can help it so used the top gun, found it worked fine.
Skilll quick question is this equipment good for 703 ll? 1(slot)Vent 2 Improved aiming 3 coated optics? I am not using Vertical stabilization becouse of excellent soft stats. Or do you suggest somthing els?

I finished the grind using the stock gun instead of its top gun because it just had a better feel for me.
Best way to play the tank is to use the sell button. It's completely forget able mediocre.

I played 29 battles so far with this tank. I've used the stock gun only. :)26/17/2 is my ammo loadout. The standard pen is enough most of the cases. my moe is on 62%.

This is a bit weird - I'm on the EU server and I just looked at this tank . In my system the first gun ( the Cannone da 88/47 ) has 0.43 dispersion but quite clearly I see 0.4 dispersion in the video also it has longer load time ( 8.2s ) and longer aiming time ( 2.6s ) - it's clearly much worse. Any ideas ???
If your looking at the stats in the tech tree thats with only 100% no bonus. So think of the exrras, 5 for bia, 10 for vents, 10 for extra rations. Thats why you see different stats. Different crew and loadout, aswell the extra bonus from equipment...
You're most likely have stock turret on.

I actually like this tank over some other t7 hvies. love seeing baboon as low tier. shows me how to play the game!

Btw, 107mm on kv-2 for 300 in less then 9 sec.😉.
This thing is painful to drive. Not bad, but it is not an enjoyable experience. Skipped half of the Progetto grind yesterday with the free Italian fragments from the holiday ops.
I see 2 times battle on Abbeym second time i watch chat and what the hell is t10 doing, next i watch his stats, OMG... 58% WR and 2700WN8 WTF?

Was better as a med, but the t-34-85 was better. Shit as a heavy tank if was a decent med. Its just like the vk 45.01A, decent tank.

this tank is very good, NOT tier 8 :)
While the Carro doesn't necessarily suck, the fact remains (and you mentioned it) that it doesn't lead anywhere worthwhile. And though it doesn't suck, it just isn't good enough to earn itself a permanent slot in my garage even when I have something like fifty open slots. Why be driving the Carro when you can be driving any one of a number of better heavy tanks at tier?

Horrible Tank overall:
- the armorprofile of the t1 turret is a complete joke, t2 turret got some good autobounce angels but still horrible "weakspots", basicly any t5 medium can pen at those
- without decent crew the tank moves horrible slow in all situations and even a skilled one makes the tank feel average
- between the two guns the choice is kinda "you want the bad one or the expensive bad one?", handling bad, penetration values bad, alpha bad
- module placement cripples the engine every 2nd shot and the ammorack every 3rd, at least thats how it feels
Skip this tank to save yourself a lot of pain even though it costs a lot
I can't stand this tank. Super slow and that gun (the full-spec one)......................
