What is any different than your last post covering the same thing? Why doesn't the filter meter work with the new filter like the old one after putting the label up in the fridge?
So the chip on the filter, just lets the fridge know that it’s a GE filter there. If you were to put in a new GE filter with a new chip, it would reset and just go for another time period. The time period is usually six months and it would tell you to replace it in six months whether you used it every day for six months or only used it for half that time. So when you buy a generic filter and put it in there if you did not have that chip, the water would not flow because it’s not detecting a filter in there. So that’s why you have to pull that label off and leave it in there so it will detect that there’s a filter in the fridge. Thank you for the question and have a blessed day!
