My favorite thing from this is the symbolism of the father, and a little from the mom, pouring out money towards GG. Like they're physically offering all this immense wealth, and a solid future taking over the father's position. GG wanting none of that, but a different life. Then finally, GG seeing his star, his brighter wanted future, with the father not seeing it himself, but seeing it in his son's eyes.
Moral of the story is basically that only you can determine what success is. In the story you can see that Gildedguy is very successful at his job (he has many accolades pasted onto his work board) but at the end of every day he feels empty, he's just going through the motions on the path of success that his parents laid out for him. It's not that he resents his parents for it, his parents probably don't even know what it is he really wants to do, but the stagnation is gnawing at him. Gildedguy, the creator not the character, is very good at turning what is essentially a conversation into an action scene. When he eventually rejects his career and current way of life, Dad gets upset and tries to refute Gildedguy's claims by mentioning all the great things that can come from a good career and a very stable income. Things he knows to be true because that is how Dad lived and how he became happy. In the flash forward sequence halfway through the fight Gildedguy envisions everything that his dad is putting forth, but knows at the end of the day he'd still be unhappy and unfulfilled if he took that path. After the fight, when all the cards are on the table, Gildedguy and Dad look at all the workers and retirees who are very happy and enjoying all that their life has to offer. It was never that Gildedguy was denying the benefits or the happiness that everyone around him felt, it just wasn't for him. So Dad sees Gildedguy off with a smile (and a good bit of gold) and that was that. I can only assume it's a very personal story for the creator. He probably took a lot of real life experiences and put them to the drawing board for this one.
The long story short of this story is that, in the first scene, he was being asked to pick what career he'd want to have, but none of them fit his dreams of being an adventurer. So he had to choose between either the hard hat (being an overseer, like his dad) or the welder thing (artist/ worker of his dad). He chose the welder hat thing since it seemed the more interesting of the two, and he just did that work for 3 years, basically bored and soulless but very rich. He eventually takes to night time painting to stay not bored, and somehow makes magic paint that sees the future. Later, he tries to escape from the building to the green star (which represents his hopes of being an adventure) and his parents try to stop him with money. Eventually, his father sees his dream (the star) but only in his eyes. He may not see it himself, but seeing it in his son is enough for him, so he lets him go. After a while of adventuring, he comes across an old sword, which he puts magic paint on to make it that cool red sword that extends. After some more time, the paint on the paintbrush dries up and breaks off to become the magic pen he uses. He then eventually reaches the location of the star, beneath the town that the rest of the stories take place in. Fun fact: The star is called "The Stellapent"
Before he even reaches the town, he finds the Dojo, fun fact: Hyun’s Dojo, the very same people that helped and supported Gildedguy IRL, and the MANY different animators like Oxob, Jomm, Camilla (Creator of Jade from the second story), And many others, to reach these heights of Animation that we see. Which is why after Gildedguy found the Dojo, he gets even better equipment to start off on his journey, and got a workplace to started painting his own stories to show us viewers (or at his own world’s case, readers) for each adventure and fight he comes to experience.

Before we had a Shonen fight between two stickmans who lived similar weas and now is about Gildedguy's Seinen origin whicg is moar filled with symbolism and in a nutshell... Because this chapter has a lot of details such as the other Storys gildedcabro did of him He could choose a alternative route thanks to the slimy green paint which got in his eyed and now that he has a principal quest, he can go on a Happy disasventure to live a haha life and not the life his Father wanted him to live (even if that was a already gifted life)
I love watching people react to Gildedguy so I'm glad I found your channel. Anyways, a new story just dropped if you didn't know already :D. However, it does need some prior context before watching. Gildedguy tried to explain it the best he could but some people were still confused in the comments, so just a heads up before you watch it. I can try to explain it to you if you want. However, don't be intimidated, because it has a really good message and amazing animation ~ Here's some context (bit late, but better late than never XD): This story is set in a place called the "Life factory", a self sustained place of peace where people can live for their entire life. The Boss manages it (shown by the yellow hat). The start was Young Gilded going through Path Selection - When someone comes of age, they have to choose what job they want to do by selecting a hat, like a ceremony. But Gil didn't really want to choose because he wanted to be an adventurer (hence the drawings he had at the start). He felt pressured to be a Boss (like his Pa) but didn't want to, so settled for being a painter instead. He burns his drawing because he's giving up on his dreams :( When he walks out, his Pa is a little disappointed because he wanted Gil to join him, but is happy for him as he joins his friends. Fast forward later, when Pa offers money and the hat to Gil: Pa wants to give a promotion to Gil so he can earn more money and be happy. During the climax, Gil fights his Pa because he wants to leave the Factory and pursue his dreams. But his Pa doesn't want him to because he wants his son to have a stable and safe life in the factory, and literally throws away his wealth to keep Gil there. The star disappearing was because only Gil can see his dreams (symbolised by the star) while his Pa can't, but lets him go and supports Gil because he sees the spark in his son's eyes. ~ Yeah, I really love the story in this one.
