I will never forget the wonderful time we spent together when I visited you in the Pacific Palisades and met Linden. The biggest thing for me is knowing you are safe and not in the middle of this horrible disaster. Always thinking of you. Love from Arizona.
The people of Maui went thru the same thing, and it dropped out of sight. It’s devastating….Most were poor or island born. The media never spoke of them again after a couple weeks. Those people were forgotten, still are.
Yes, so sad for those people. Evil at work. The deep state wants to hurt we, the people, in as many ways as they can.
I remember them, they're still getting shafted. These agendas need to be smashed.

This is how I feel about my dear friends & neighbors in Southern California. But it’s concerning because 5 of my daughter’s classmates now young fathers are firefighters battling the fires. Their young babies, wives, mothers & fathers (my friends/neighbors) are worried for their safety. Let’s pray for the safety of all the firefighters.

I can't help but think about your son, Walker, who moved to Asheville, only to see it destroyed by a hurricane. Now he's watching the place where he spent his childhood disappear before his eyes. So sorry for you, your family, and your friends who are suffering in various ways from this disaster.

Wow, I am so glad I made such an impression. I was told today that by my neighbor that Renee kept it going very much like I had it when I left and I’ve been gone for years and oil five seasons and he sent me pictures in June it was just lush and beautiful. But I fear it’s rubble tonight

I was just watching Live Now Fox showing an aerial view of the Palisades. It is gone, except for a couple homes. If you think you are up to it, you should check that out. It is surreal, you are correct. I have no words. God bless those people.

That's great and so awesome you are still going strong. When fires come, you are mobile! Yes, he is fine, just out of work and likely his tools got burned up. They still haven't let anyone but residents with documents in and no one has sent me a photo. So I can't imagine even recognizing my block.

Kaye,I am so sorry to hear about your losses. Linden was beautiful. I have been in tears the last 2 days. I wasn't born in California and haven't lived there for years, but in my heart it will always be home. I started first grade and went through the University there. We lived in an English walnut grove, such beautiful trees, in a house built by Ann Blyth. I remember seeing snow-like ashes falling when the hills around us burned, but it never came near us. Still fire has always made me so sad for all the little creatures who can't run away. This is devastating. Praying for everyone.

Kaye, I thought all about you when I saw the fire. I have been watching your channel when you lived there while growing your garden. I'm so sorry you are having to relive what was a great time of your life but now in a horrific light. I'm so glad you moved back to Tennessee.

Consider yourself bless to have never had to evaluate your home, making choices of what to take and what to leave behind with a glimmer of hope they be back once you are allowed back into your home. CA not new to fires i lived through the Cedar Fire 2003 and another fire 2007 those consumed 10 times the amount of acre then this fire has burned through. The difference is that we had more spead out homes and land that allowed some to stand and others to burn without reason why. We also had water to put out fires. This fire 🔥 was just home after home just destroyed. Lack of water what so scary. Its so sad the amount of people who will have to recover and start over! Prayers for all !

You have been in my thoughts ever since the fire broke out and was splashed all over the news. I know it wasn't your home anymore, and that you have a new life in TN....but that was where Late Bloomer started, where I "met" you and your garden. I was a fairly new (ish) to growing food; had always grown flowers and such, but was dipping my toes in growing food about the same time as you. My heart breaks for everyone who was touched by this devastating fire.
So sorry Kaye I thought about you the second I heard of Palisades fire. I’m from Altadena me and family evacuated Tuesday. So many cousins and friends houses, old elementary school, churches, hiking trail all burned down 😓

This is heartbreakibg; Lindon, the fires, your mom passing. I'm so sorry for your losses. 😢 hopefully your friends will be ok, and their fur-babies as well. Prayers for all those people in the path of the fires. Grateful that you were fortunate enough to escape California and start your homesteading in Tennessee. And I am sure your former neighbors miss you too. The devastation is horrible. You are such a great orator ..What a memory you have ! .I recall all the way back to childhood here... mostly about animals and the landscape.... the world has changed so much ..perhaps someone with a backhoe will show up and build you an earth sheltered greenhouse in your garden ...I will try to geta photo of one a friend built locally ...hang onto your britches this year...

It's heartbreaking. My daughter lived 10 miles from the fires. Her and her friends were able to get out to Arizona. Thousands of people lost everything. Sending light and love to all. I am sorry for all your hurt and pain✨️🌻

Sorry to hear & see these fires continue. Mid '70's my dad moved us out of the foothills to wisc after 4 evacuations in 1 season. Tragic. Clearing under brush should be allowed.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine going thru a fire. The state really needs to clean up the over growth and do controlled burns so Cali doesn't have to keep going thru this. I know how bad the Santa Ana winds can be.

It's so sad what happened, just awful. I can't imagine all the feelings that come with all that loss! The area was doomed due to no water in the hydrants. I can't imagine no water in hydrants, very unlawful. People should sue the city, maybe they would wake up! You lived there and have ties and memories, so yes it would have some meaning!
I keep looking at the news updates, and I'm just stunned by what I see. It's so far beyond my comprehension, I don't know how to react. I like what you said, near the end, though, that we need to keep looking forward. Isaiah 26:3 is one of my favorite verses, and it certainly applies to the current times....

I’m so sorry you have lost your beloved neighborhood and town. This happened to my family through the Tubbs fire in 2017 in Santa Rosa, Ca. My brother, friends and neighbors all lost their homes. I lost two previously owned homes before the fire hit. We raised our children there, all the memories and familiar sights gone. I felt like a living ghost in my own hometown. It took 2 years for people w insurance to rebuild. The neighborhood and town has since then been rebuilt. We personally still live in a tiny home rental on the outskirts of town forced from the fires from our rental at the time. - Many prayers for you, your neighbors and moving towards the future. Like you I also have 2 Grandchildren on the way. God still provides no matter what. God is good and He will Prevail over all evil. 🙏✝️🛡️
I was in Santa Rosa in '17 at National Heirloom Expo right before the fire! That was horrible and very suspicious. YES HE WILL.
This has touched so many people, a good friend of mine lost her home in Malibu from all this. She was right on the ocean. She is the kindest person and i love her. Ive seen some real mean comments about "rich" people. What is this hatred for people who work hard and do well for themselves??its all brain washing!!! They arent bad people!! We know others that are on the verge of evacuation in the Hollywood hills. Lots of my daughters friends from high school. All we can do is pray and support them however we can. We've offered to take pets for friends who may have to leave their homes. We all can do something. ❤

My sincere condolances Kaye for your recent losses. 🕊 I've followed and enjoyed your programming since before you left california. SO many wild fires here. As a native californian, I feel such empathy for all. My birthplace of Paradise Ca was destroyed by wildfire in 2018 as well as great expanses of woodland and communities in fires afterwards. That was also following a time of great personal loss to me. My heart breaks for all affected. 💔 I just can't fathom the times now. I will retreat to my garden for solace. Take care.
It seems so much sadness is happening to so many people. My son is a pastor in California and lives in Santa Maria which is north of Southern California. He and his family love California in spite of the high cost of living and the political nature. I've visited a few times and they always take me hiking or to a museum or the beach. Praying for all who lost homes. Praying for you also with so many things happening in your life. Blessings.
Thank you, Karen. There may come a point where they can't get fire insurance and they decide it's time to leave. I know many of those burned out in the Palisades will reach this conclusion.

I can't imagine the pain this nightmare event has caused you and so many people in California. It does not look like 2025 will be much better than 2024 but we all have to move forward with whatever challenges the world sends our way. It's going to take years to recover and in some areas that may not be possible due to the toxins released into the air, water and soil by the fire. I was born in CA and lived there 59 years until 2019. I have friends and family who've evacuated because of the fires. I do not miss the fires, that's for sure. They are saying on the news that a lot of people had just had their home. insurance canceled by state farm.. My prayers are with you and all your friends and California..

All part of the plan, it's just sad what has happened, its just like Maui, turn off the water have everyone get out 1 direction then block the road! My mother passed away in 2012, and I still find myself wanting and even starting to pick up the phone to tell her something. The problem is, that I have maintained this for years after studying forests and wood types. I ended up going down a rabbit hole because I was interested in forestry and forest management and how to grow different wood types. That is when I realized that wildfires are caused by not maintaining the forest so that it doesn't burn. If it is under land management it must be maintained especially if people visit, travel to, or live near forests and government land. Then government and the forestry service need to manage the forest. If they can't find people who want to do it then instead train and pay people a livable wage to do forestry service. Because hello!!!! fires are God's way of maintaining the forest.
They never prioritize until too late. Even now, Newsom is trying to pass the buck. The buck stops with the Governor, I got news for him.

Yes, they had some water but not much. A few houses, not mine, were saved in my neighborhood till the water ran out.
