Tip : instead of using cotton, use pointer of any sketch pen coz it's harder than cotton(made up of cotton itself) and it will give you real experience of drawing
just be careful to not mess up the screen

You have to get some water and get the pen to it and its work?!
If it's not a metal pen it won't work and you have to touch the metal parts. It works fine for me. In fact, I wrote this using my home-made stylus, lmao.

You need a metal pen or aluminium foil so the electricity from your body transfers to your screen,so conect the foil with the cotton and when you use it make sure you touch the foil😉❤

U can make a stylus pen by holding a paint brush by its metalic part..it also gives a realistic feel by doing digital art with it u can use a thin brush for details and thick one for filling and stufg

Metal pen or a metal wire(for plastic pen) is required . Static current of our hand is needed so METAL is a must.

Metal pen is important?
Late response, but yes, it is. Capacitive screens need the electric charge from your hand to work, so that's why metal is necessary. It's also why the pen works better if you wet the cotton, since water conducts electricity.
Aaron is right also, But if you don't have a metal pen what you can do is get a pencil or a pen and put cotton on top of it and wrap aluminum foil around it and secure it with tape and there you go! A stylus

2.u need to get cotton
3.shape it like a cone
4.u need to wet it and dry it up

Pen should be metal or cover it with an aluminum paper. Theory is elec should pass from ur fingers to phone through the stylus pen. So u should put a drop of water on cotton too bcz its not conductive . Try it
