Thats something ive never seen being done in any media, they always use a persons dead name as a plot device, as a way to hurt the trans character or a way to show how the person speaking it is transphobic, but i'm glad this game never mentions it. its great.
levy ollie was the first name Tyler chose and was comfortable with. Trans people sometimes go through alot of different names because it can be hard to completely re name urself without getting comfortable along the way.
I thought Ollie was more of a nickname too. I'm just glad that even though we could see the dead name, people in-game didn't SAY it (the majority of the time, unless I missed something), like in the dialogue. Like you can show the trauma someone went through in the past without disrespecting their present.
I think Sam was upset with himself because he suggested they get a gun to protect themselves from bears, forgetting what they had gone through, which is likely why he said, “You damn fool” to himself and left upset.
I think he felt like a fool for taking care of the house for so long when no one lived there anymore.. or trying to still help when no one needed (the kids/the house/the mom) him. Also feeling dumb for helping the mom and "failing". In summary - helping when no one asked or needed him. Clinging onto the hope of being wanted.

This chapter of the game really resonated with me when I played it. You can see that like clearly people could see that Mary-Ann was suffering, and each person we talk to this chapter blame themselves for her ultimate breakdown. But at the same time, her death is still this unsightly scar on the community that they didn’t want to talk about for fear of implicating themselves. Sam blamed himself for not just supplying the shotgun, but pressuring Mary Ann to love him back. Eddy blamed himself for turning her into CPS and showing up on the day to tell her he had. And Tessa blames herself for a lot. For judging Mary-Ann’s parenting. For suggesting Tyler needed conversion therapy. For caring more about laundry detergent than the mental well being of her “best friend,” and ultimately, for reporting Mary-Ann as a neglectful mother. And it was powerful to see these characters have to kind of face a reckoning with that and own up to the ways they failed this struggling mother and her kids. The idea that the community let her down and then had to deal with the aftermath of her death was very interesting.
This is so well thought out!! It makes me wonder how the other characters (the ones we haven’t seen as much of) will respond, will they also blame themselves? Will they have more controversial views? I hope chapter 3 is just as revealing as this one!
The twins names were redacted because they were minors, not because eddy messed with the file. Not to say the dude isn’t shady, but it’s common practice to keep the names of victims who are minors out of the police report.

It's crazy to me how dontnod consistently puts out these amazing games do quickly. Julien really adds something too some kind intangible quality to a life is strange story that enhances it somehow.
Am I the only one who vaguely suspects that Alexander bloke as the "Mad Hunter"? He's a character who doesn't fit into anything so far, yet keeps reappearing. He's an actual hunter, has the gear and is an asshole to boot, so there's also that. I think the profile matches and his voice could be different either because the memories were years ago and his voice has slightly changed or because Tyler and Allyson's memories aren't all that reliable to begin with (which is something that the game has made a point of repeating). But even if he's not the Mad Hunter I feel like there's more to him.
I definitely think it's he's a distraction. With his love of hunting and anger issues I don't think that there's anyone more fitting to be the Mad Hunter. Which makes me think it's obviously too easy of an answer. I think it'd have to be Vecchi or the mysterious hot priest maybe. Slight Spoiler Edit: Kinda sad we didn't meet the hot mysterious priest but it tis okay.
A couple of things: It doesn't seem like Eddy tampered with anything in the files, minors names are usually redacted to protect their privacy, and we had already seen a previous memory of Tyler convincing Alyson to let him take the fall for what happened, its likely that no one ever knew that it was Alyson who killed their mom. Also, I think Eddy was being honest and that Alyson's version of the memory was correct, Eddy legally had to file a report and was just giving Mary Anne a heads up about child services (wether or not that was a good idea is probably why Eddy feels so guilty about it and didn't want to tell the twins), but it would make more sense that she was sad than angry :/
Not even 5 min in, but the story about the princess losing her title and treasure and hiding in the woods and the kids not having a second parent. Makes me think Mary-ann went into hiding from an abusive relationship and the kids were too young to remember and the I'm guessing husband had some sort of title and money and she gave that up for the safety of the kids. Because living out in secluded wilderness with 2 young children and one adult is dangerous. It also explains why she doesnt have an over the table job to pay for things like groceries. Wonder if the husband tracked her down and did some gaslighting bs dressed up as the monster to trigger a psychotic break. Because she is over the age of onset for most psych stuff so trauma would be the only thing that could trigger something.
spoilers for the end of the chapter: does that ending mean that alison's inner voice maybe tricked her into thinking she heard the mom say "im going to kill you" to tyler?? like how their voice also mixed up tylers words to make it sound like he was saying something he said earlier, to alison @2:52:00 ???
I'm floored by the Filipino representation that DontNod has put in!!! Can you name any other video game published by a AAA studio that gave you Filipino characters and glimpses into their culture?? It just feels so good to be seen, I was stunned when the Ronan twins were listing the authentic Filipino cuisine they've tried. It's kind of scary how accurate DontNod has been able to showcase them. A lot of Filipinos are generous and giving, as you can see in Tessa, but we are also deeply religious. I'm really sad to say that it makes sense that Tessa recommended conversion therapy for Tyler, seeing as that is still very legal and often encouraged in the Philippines. Rant over. I'm just so happy that we Southeast Asians get some rep. It just kind of feels like erasure when media only cares/talks about/showcases East Asia and the culture over there, when Asia is the biggest continent in the world, with so much to offer. This sadly leads to people saying that we in Southeast Asia don't even count as "real Asians." (Sorry for the super long comment. Yes I am Filipino so I'm SO sorry if my English is terrible.)

At the end when young Alyson kept rehearing “I’m gonna kill you” (said by Mary Ann to the shadow man), was that somehow a reference to when Mary Ann tries to “kill” young tyler? Doesn’t she tell him “I’m gonna kill you” right before Alyson stabs her?
I think it means that Mary Ann didn't actually say that the night she died, I think their "voice" merely repeated it from the time Mary Ann was fighting with the mad hunter. Like when Alyson didn't want to go out onto the dock and Tyler told Alyson she needed to take responsibility in Mary Ann's death but he didn't actually say it. It was just repeated from the time he said it to Eddy. And if Mary Ann didn't say it then she might not have intended to hurt Tyler that night.

I left this comment on part 1 the other day, but I just wanted to reiterate how cool it is to see a major game with a trans main character. I'm a trans man myself, and I dont recall ever seeing characters like me or stories like mine growing up. I didn't even know what being trans was until I was an adult. It's just so cool to see how far everything has come, to see this kind of representation, and done so well, too. A lot of the situations Tyler finds himself in (with people not always looking him in the eyes, or stumbling over pronouns or terminology) is so realistic and true to my own experience, and I love that being trans isnt like his only story or personality trait.
Poor Sam... I feel bad for him. He just wants to be useful and he obviously had a thing for MaryAnn. Haven't finished the video yet tho so I hope I dont regret this 😅
This game is so beautifully done, when you have trauma one thing most people have to deal with is flashback or losing their memories and sometimes those memories aren't always good and can be triggered by any of your senses. As trans people alot of our childhoods we often deflect because for the most part we were super uncomfortable and couldn't truly be who wanted to be whther we were hiding in the closet to protect ourselves or our family or even just confused on how to speak up and out. I still love nostalgia but for anyone out there struggling with trauma and memory loss I just you to know your not alone we can stick up for each other and to all my Trans/ Nonbinary and genderfluid souls you're all so powerful and magical you bring me so much joy and hop keep it up Stay Strong Kia Kaha XX
this playthrough is so amazing.. its hitting me so hard. my mom went through some mental health issues and got into a relationship with a horrible guy. severing her relationship with me and my siblings.. than tried to leave him and he killed her.. i know its different but when she said you didn't have to do it alone at the grave to her mom it hit me so hard. regardless of that though this game was so beautifully made, I love the art style the story line everything 2020 needed this.

Okay before i get into this video, im posting my theory: the whole reason they live out in the woods is that Mary Ann is trying to hide from the kids’ father, and the evil dark sillouette is representing him, stalking their family. She became paranoid from that. At least that’s what i theorize, just wanted to write it out before being proved wrong or right lol
Alison doesn't want to know the truth because, if it's different from what she's believed all this time, it would mean she killed her own mother for no reason. Also, she has lived her whole life in this town, trusting and relying on these people and now she's being brought to wonder if they had a hand in the worst thing that happened in her life.
Things of note that are sus: -Sam helped build the barn that mary anne hid stuff under -the licence plates in the shack (p. just a red herring) -Tessa suddenly deciding to break ties with mary anne and mentioning how Mary Anne broke up one marriage when the twins were questioning her husband earlier about who their father really was - the two different notes from mary anne's former lovers, one clearly being Sam -The common fishing gear that apparently half the town owns, meaning that there could be multiple people who look like the mad hunter, maybe at least two people
WARNING:POSSIBLE SPOILER! in my opinion, tessa's husband is the killer. alyson and tyler shared a fake memory of the dead of their mom! he got an affair for sure with maryann, and he killed her to obtain a defenitive silence about this affair furthermore: *every character* in game got its fantasy figure...but not tessa's husband, and the mad hunter doesn't have its "real-life char" yet....
Honestly I don't think calling CPS in this case was bad. Mary-Ann was clearly unwell. If she had had time to recover while the kids were somewhere safe, things could have turned out so differently.

My guess is that the Mad Hunter is an actual hunter in the area who was terrorising Mary Ann as she was trying to protect the forest. Would explain Tyler’s desire to be a ranger/conversationist. When Mary Ann went out with the gun on ‘the night’ it was actually a final attempt to get rid of the hunter. Sam was in on it, he mounted the gun for Mary Ann, that’s why he felt bad when he saw it. Also, maybe Tessa did drug Mary Ann with some of the free food she had given her
The part when you’re choosing between memories made me want to go with MaryAnn being sad rather than angry. Because they mentioned it happened the same night as the “attack”, and in the last EP when MaryAnn was holding the gun, she had smudged mascara like she had been crying.
So omg I love how supportive of everything Julien was about this game. LOVE it. In my playthrough I didn't go with Michael and Tyler's relationship simply because I felt like Tyler (whom I adored) could find someone who loved and understood him without dating his sister's best friend. I don't know...As a sister with older brothers, I would be pissed if they did that to me lol. Either way, though I loved how invested he was in this playthrough.
I love watching Julien play these types of games and seeing his reactions and everything.. But watching him attempt to do the puzzles is always SO frustrating. I'm left screaming at him through the screen, because he completely misses the clues that will help him, and then eventually ends up solving the puzzles by accident. Like the door puzzle in the last episode and then the fuse box puzzle in this one..
So here’s my idea. So we established earlier that Tessa is the pelican, Sam is the bear, and that Eddy is the moose. WHAT IF they have duel personalities in Mary-Ann’s mind??? Think about it, she went from being what seemed like “normal struggling mom” to “mentally struggling mom”. So from what I can put together, Tessa is the pelican AND the Moon Hag. What is the Moon Hag depicted as? A Sea Lion. Where do you find pelicans and sea lions? THE SEA. Plus she is always wearing shades so she is being shady for sure. Sam is the Bear but he’s also the Ice King. The Ice King is always out as someone who is great and kind and “in charge”. Sam seemed like he used to be all of those things and some things he still is. I think she would always state the good sides of him because I BELIEVE a love affair was once present here? It also looks like it’s noted in the book under chapter, “The Bear and the Princess” since it’s been noted Mary-Ann made herself the Princess. Eddy is the moose, I kinda caught this early since he always calls Aly “Little Moose”. I can’t really decide who he is maybe the frog? “The big frog earns the right to speak” “the big frog is punished”. Like who doesn’t want to piss off their siblings? Lol 😂 or maybe he’s the Ice Troll for the same reason 🤷🏻♀️ I 100% DO NOT agree with the Tom theory! He seems oblivious for one, but also, he said in the phone call before the ran, “I have to go to a meeting”, then Michael literally poked his head in and said “they are waiting for you at the meeting” (or something like that) and who doesn’t look at their phone and read the time KNOWING they have to be some where and go, “I’m late, I need to run!”. So no, do not agree. And Alexander is the Mad Hunter AND their father. Like look at the evidence!!! His car on the way over had a bunch of hunting stickers. Most of them violent and growing up in the Midwest, only crazy ppl (mad) would have super violent things like that. I come from a hunting family and if someone did that our entire clan would be judging them! Also, voices match. And he was in the store speaking with Michael. I’m sure he saw an exit as soon as the twins went to talk to Tom and got out. I wonder though if him and Tessa are working together though because the shape of the previous Mad Hunter in the memories were taller and more slender. The one that started the fire was “short and stout” if you will, and who else fits that body type? TESSA. Another reason I think Alexander is the MH, he’s been weirdly following them around. I think one the boat he said he was passing through. If he was passing through why is he still in town??? Now here the other one and hopefully no one breathes fire at me, He’s their father because he is white. At first I was like, what if Eddy is the father but... eww, and also Eddy and Mary-Ann are siblings unless this is some weird “Flowers in the Attic” storyline. But look at the facts, everyone is Native American except like 3 ppl. Tom, Sam, and Alexander. We established that Tessa and Tom are together. Tessa would have probably been the one with the gun if he was the twins father. Case closed. Sam and Mary-Ann started their love affair way after the twins where born. I think he says when he met Mary-Ann in chapter 1 and it isn’t until that time. Case closed. Alexander is white, Mary-Ann is Native American (I think Tinglet Tribe). The twins don’t look as Native as they could look given the other men in Mary-Ann’s life where Native. Plus he wanted to take the kids away from her (in the memory) and he just so happens to be on the ferry going to where they are. (Not a big deal but like, it’s Alaska. Land and Moose. Not a ton of humans taking all the land, but I could be wrong) He also seems overly interested in trying to have a conversation with Tyler and trying to scare him on the boat a little. Eddie and Mary-Anne aren’t related remember they referring to Eddies mum as Carol and that she helped Mary-Anne find a place to live there and it’s common in indigenous cultures to refer to your elder as uncle or Aunty as Alyson does because she was adopted in. But yeah Mary-Anne isn’t Native and in the Tell my why FAQs it’s actually tells you only two characters are native and they are Michael and Eddie.

Then I’m like maybe Tom? Cause like, he seems to keep his mouth shut and he kept the secret about Tessa calling social services. He’s also a political leader in the area, and ppl in politics are always hiding secrets. But then I’m like... wouldn’t it be crazy if it was Aly??? Im i the only one who can kinda understand the fact that they did get socialservices called on them? I mean everybody says Mary-Ann was unstable, and we continue to hear it from the twins in the whole first chapter pretty much that she wasnt the greatest. Im not saying a parent should get their kids taken away due to having a "crisis" or a hard time with money, not at all. Just that if she did have the severe type of mental sickness where she finally broke and chased her kid with a gun, its more understandable why people would get worried about the kids? However I do think people around her could do more to help, but as they said she did shut them out.

I have this idea that someone else in Delos has the voice (The Secret Keeper) they may not have liked Tyler - and so they used their voice to make Mary believe Tyler was the mad hunter, to try kill him. Eddy is suspicious in that he is absolutely thorough in his police work so he would have noted any discrepancies, but the story worked in his favour - He CHOSE to keep Aly, and paid grants for Tyler to stay in Juvie. Perhaps hiding them from any other family they have. Also I don’t have much evidence but Alex (The ferry hunter man) is too obvious of a choice to be the father and mad hunter, my theory is he is related to Mary or a main character, perhaps a brother - and like the storybook, Mary changed her name at some point.

Am I the only one who vaguely suspects that Alexander bloke as the "Mad Hunter"? He's a character who doesn't fit into anything so far, yet keeps reappearing. He's an actual hunter, has the gear and is an asshole to boot, so there's also that. I think the profile matches and his voice could be different either because the memories were years ago and his voice has slightly changed or because Tyler and Allyson's memories aren't all that reliable to begin with (which is something that the game has made a point of repeating). But even if he's not the Mad Hunter I feel like there's more to him.
I definitely think it's he's a distraction. With his love of hunting and anger issues I don't think that there's anyone more fitting to be the Mad Hunter. Which makes me think it's obviously too easy of an answer. I think it'd have to be Vecchi or the mysterious hot priest maybe.

A couple of things:
It doesn't seem like Eddy tampered with anything in the files, minors names are usually redacted to protect their privacy, and we had already seen a previous memory of Tyler convincing Alyson to let him take the fall for what happened, its likely that no one ever knew that it was Alyson who killed their mom.
Also, I think Eddy was being honest and that Alyson's version of the memory was correct, Eddy legally had to file a report and was just giving Mary Anne a heads up about child services (wether or not that was a good idea is probably why Eddy feels so guilty about it and didn't want to tell the twins), but it would make more sense that she was sad than angry :/
Not even 5 min in, but the story about the princess losing her title and treasure and hiding in the woods and the kids not having a second parent. Makes me think Mary-ann went into hiding from an abusive relationship and the kids were too young to remember and the I'm guessing husband had some sort of title and money and she gave that up for the safety of the kids. Because living out in secluded wilderness with 2 young children and one adult is dangerous. It also explains why she doesnt have an over the table job to pay for things like groceries. Wonder if the husband tracked her down and did some gaslighting bs dressed up as the monster to trigger a
psychotic break. Because she is over the age of onset for most psych stuff so trauma would be the only thing that could trigger something.

I'm floored by the Filipino representation that DontNod has put in!!! Can you name any other video game published by a AAA studio that gave you Filipino characters and glimpses into their culture?? It just feels so good to be seen, I was stunned when the Ronan twins were listing the authentic Filipino cuisine they've tried.
It's kind of scary how accurate DontNod has been able to showcase them. A lot of Filipinos are generous and giving, as you can see in Tessa, but we are also deeply religious. I'm really sad to say that it makes sense that Tessa recommended conversion therapy for Tyler, seeing as that is still very legal and often encouraged in the Philippines.
Rant over. I'm just so happy that we Southeast Asians get some rep. It just kind of feels like erasure when media only cares/talks about/showcases East Asia and the culture over there, when Asia is the biggest continent in the world, with so much to offer. This sadly leads to people saying that we in Southeast Asia don't even count as "real Asians."

At the end when young Alyson kept rehearing “I’m gonna kill you” (said by Mary Ann to the shadow man), was that somehow a reference to when Mary Ann tries to “kill” young tyler? Doesn’t she tell him “I’m gonna kill you” right before Alyson stabs her?
I think it means that Mary Ann didn't actually say that the night she died, I think their "voice" merely repeated it from the time Mary Ann was fighting with the mad hunter. Like when Alyson didn't want to go out onto the dock and Tyler told Alyson she needed to take responsibility in Mary Ann's death but he didn't actually say it. It was just repeated from the time he said it to Eddy. And if Mary Ann didn't say it then she might not have intended to hurt Tyler that night.

I left this comment on part 1 the other day, but I just wanted to reiterate how cool it is to see a major game with a trans main character. I'm a trans man myself, and I dont recall ever seeing characters like me or stories like mine growing up. I didn't even know what being trans was until I was an adult. It's just so cool to see how far everything has come, to see this kind of representation, and done so well, too. A lot of the situations Tyler finds himself in (with people not always looking him in the eyes, or stumbling over pronouns or terminology) is so realistic and true to my own experience, and I love that being trans isnt like his only story or personality trait.
Poor Sam... I feel bad for him. He just wants to be useful and he obviously had a thing for MaryAnn. Haven't finished the video yet tho so I hope I dont regret this 😅

This game is so beautifully done, when you have trauma one thing most people have to deal with is flashback or losing their memories and sometimes those memories aren't always good and can be triggered by any of your senses. As trans people alot of our childhoods we often deflect because for the most part we were super uncomfortable and couldn't truly be who wanted to be whther we were hiding in the closet to protect ourselves or our family or even just confused on how to speak up and out. I still love nostalgia but for anyone out there struggling with trauma and memory loss I just you to know your not alone we can stick up for each other and to all my Trans/ Nonbinary and genderfluid souls you're all so powerful and magical you bring me so much joy and hop keep it up Stay Strong Kia Kaha XX

this playthrough is so amazing.. its hitting me so hard. my mom went through some mental health issues and got into a relationship with a horrible guy. severing her relationship with me and my siblings.. than tried to leave him and he killed her.. i know its different but when she said you didn't have to do it alone at the grave to her mom it hit me so hard. regardless of that though this game was so beautifully made, I love the art style the story line everything 2020 needed this.

She became paranoid from that. At least that’s what i theorize, just wanted to write it out before being proved wrong or right lol

Alison doesn't want to know the truth because, if it's different from what she's believed all this time, it would mean she killed her own mother for no reason. Also, she has lived her whole life in this town, trusting and relying on these people and now she's being brought to wonder if they had a hand in the worst thing that happened in her life.
Things of note that are sus:
-Sam helped build the barn that mary anne hid stuff under
-the licence plates in the shack (p. just a red herring)
-Tessa suddenly deciding to break ties with mary anne and mentioning how Mary Anne broke up one marriage when the twins were questioning her husband earlier about who their father really was
- the two different notes from mary anne's former lovers, one clearly being Sam
-The common fishing gear that apparently half the town owns, meaning that there could be multiple people who look like the mad hunter, maybe at least two people

My guess is that the Mad Hunter is an actual hunter in the area who was terrorising Mary Ann as she was trying to protect the forest. Would explain Tyler’s desire to be a ranger/conversationist.
When Mary Ann went out with the gun on ‘the night’ it was actually a final attempt to get rid of the hunter. Sam was in on it, he mounted the gun for Mary Ann, that’s why he felt bad when he saw it.
Also, maybe Tessa did drug Mary Ann with some of the free food she had given her

The part when you’re choosing between memories made me want to go with MaryAnn being sad rather than angry. Because they mentioned it happened the same night as the “attack”, and in the last EP when MaryAnn was holding the gun, she had smudged mascara like she had been crying.
This was so fun definitely made my housekeeping job more interesting!

So omg I love how supportive of everything Julien was about this game. LOVE it. In my playthrough I didn't go with Michael and Tyler's relationship simply because I felt like Tyler (whom I adored) could find someone who loved and understood him without dating his sister's best friend. I don't know...As a sister with older brothers, I would be pissed if they did that to me lol. Either way, though I loved how invested he was in this playthrough.

I love watching Julien play these types of games and seeing his reactions and everything.. But watching him attempt to do the puzzles is always SO frustrating. I'm left screaming at him through the screen, because he completely misses the clues that will help him, and then eventually ends up solving the puzzles by accident. Like the door puzzle in the last episode and then the fuse box puzzle in this one..

So here’s my idea. So we established earlier that Tessa is the pelican, Sam is the bear, and that Eddy is the moose. WHAT IF they have duel personalities in Mary-Ann’s mind??? Think about it, she went from being what seemed like “normal struggling mom” to “mentally struggling mom”. So from what I can put together, Tessa is the pelican AND the Moon Hag. What is the Moon Hag depicted as? A Sea Lion. Where do you find pelicans and sea lions? THE SEA. Plus she is always wearing shades so she is being shady for sure. Sam is the Bear but he’s also the Ice King. The Ice King is always out as someone who is great and kind and “in charge”. Sam seemed like he used to be all of those things and some things he still is. I think she would always state the good sides of him because I BELIEVE a love affair was once present here? It also looks like it’s noted in the book under chapter, “The Bear and the Princess” since it’s been noted Mary-Ann made herself the Princess. Eddy is the moose, I kinda caught this early since he always calls Aly “Little Moose”. I can’t really decide who he is maybe the frog? “The big frog earns the right to speak” “the big frog is punished”. Like who doesn’t want to piss off their siblings? Lol 😂 or maybe he’s the Ice Troll for the same reason 🤷🏻♀️ I 100% DO NOT agree with the Tom theory! He seems oblivious for one, but also, he said in the phone call before the ran, “I have to go to a meeting”, then Michael literally poked his head in and said “they are waiting for you at the meeting” (or something like that) and who doesn’t look at their phone and read the time KNOWING they have to be some where and go, “I’m late, I need to run!”. So no, do not agree. And Alexander is the Mad Hunter AND their father. Like look at the evidence!!! His car on the way over had a bunch of hunting stickers. Most of them violent and growing up in the Midwest, only crazy ppl (mad) would have super violent things like that. I come from a hunting family and if someone did that our entire clan would be judging them! Also, voices match. And he was in the store speaking with Michael. I’m sure he saw an exit as soon as the twins went to talk to Tom and got out. I wonder though if him and Tessa are working together though because the shape of the previous Mad Hunter in the memories were taller and more slender. The one that started the fire was “short and stout” if you will, and who else fits that body type? TESSA. Another reason I think Alexander is the MH, he’s been weirdly following them around. I think one the boat he said he was passing through. If he was passing through why is he still in town??? Now here the other one and hopefully no one breathes fire at me, He’s their father because he is white. At first I was like, what if Eddy is the father but... eww, and also Eddy and Mary-Ann are siblings unless this is some weird “Flowers in the Attic” storyline. But look at the facts, everyone is Native American except like 3 ppl. Tom, Sam, and Alexander. We established that Tessa and Tom are together. Tessa would have probably been the one with the gun if he was the twins father. Case closed. Sam and Mary-Ann started their love affair way after the twins where born. I think he says when he met Mary-Ann in chapter 1 and it isn’t until that time. Case closed. Alexander is white, Mary-Ann is Native American (I think Tinglet Tribe). The twins don’t look as Native as they could look given the other men in Mary-Ann’s life where Native. Plus he wanted to take the kids away from her (in the memory) and he just so happens to be on the ferry going to where they are. (Not a big deal but like, it’s Alaska. Land and Moose. Not a ton of humans taking all the land, but I could be wrong) He also seems overly interested in trying to have a conversation with Tyler and trying to scare him on the boat a little. How do we know he hasn’t been stalking them their whole lives?! I mean it’s a lot and no one is going to read this all, but like hear me out. I can’t be the only one who has this theory! 🤷🏻♀️😂
Who do you think the secret keeper could be?? Could it be the dad? Also remember twins runs in families, so surely there will be someone else in the area with a twin - and this may reveal who the father is.
Eddie and Mary-Anne aren’t related remember they referring to Eddies mum as Carol and that she helped Mary-Anne find a place to live there and it’s common in indigenous cultures to refer to your elder as uncle or Aunty as Alyson does because she was adopted in. But yeah Mary-Anne isn’t Native and in the Tell my why FAQs it’s actually tells you only two characters are native and they are Michael and Eddie.

Then I’m like maybe Tom? Cause like, he seems to keep his mouth shut and he kept the secret about Tessa calling social services. He’s also a political leader in the area, and ppl in politics are always hiding secrets. But then I’m like... wouldn’t it be crazy if it was Aly??? Like, she’s hiding something whether it’s repressed or not I think she knows more about the past than she is letting on. But maybe the next chapter will confirm some theories 🤷🏻♀️

Im i the only one who can kinda understand the fact that they did get socialservices called on them? I mean everybody says Mary-Ann was unstable, and we continue to hear it from the twins in the whole first chapter pretty much that she wasnt the greatest. Im not saying a parent should get their kids taken away due to having a "crisis" or a hard time with money, not at all. Just that if she did have the severe type of mental sickness where she finally broke and chased her kid with a gun, its more understandable why people would get worried about the kids? However I do think people around her could do more to help, but as they said she did shut them out.

I have this idea that someone else in Delos has the voice (The Secret Keeper) they may not have liked Tyler - and so they used their voice to make Mary believe Tyler was the mad hunter, to try kill him.
Eddy is suspicious in that he is absolutely thorough in his police work so he would have noted any discrepancies, but the story worked in his favour - He CHOSE to keep Aly, and paid grants for Tyler to stay in Juvie. Perhaps hiding them from any other family they have.
Also I don’t have much evidence but Alex (The ferry hunter man) is too obvious of a choice to be the father and mad hunter, my theory is he is related to Mary or a main character, perhaps a brother - and like the storybook, Mary changed her name at some point.
