This makes sense. The game is very well designed and has some pretty intricate level building. If players could just fly and skip all of that, it would really defeat the purpose. It’s really cool and makes a ton of sense to reward the player with a feature like this towards the end of the game when they’ve experienced most of what the devs had to offer, so skipping over traversal puzzles isn’t a loss.
@@3dgelord187 well that is one example that should be followed. a 3rd sequel for guerrilla to fix that experience. speaking of games like zelda there, perhaps gow ragnarok probably be thinking about their own possible magical flying mounts next? @@3dgelord187 See, but BOTW is a different beast entirely. In most games, including Forbidden West, puzzles and traversal are created to have one real solution, so if you can bypass that solution, then the puzzle becomes obsolete, but with BOTW, the puzzles are completely open ended, with somewhat vague goals that you can use a hundred different tools/environmental elements/physics exploits to solve. No puzzle in BOTW has a single solution, so the fun goes from “how do I solve this?” to “in what way can I solve this?” There’s always a stupid easy way to solve all the puzzles in BOTW, but those can be time consuming, however, if you’re good and understand the game’s systems, then you can challenge yourself to beat puzzles in faster, in more complex ways, so if BOTW2 chose to give flying mounts in the beginning, I don’t think that would break anything, as freedom of traversal has always been a calling card of that franchise. If they want to challenge the player, all they have to do is say “no flying in dungeons/shrines” and you’re all good.
@@CaptainPilipinas I don’t think they’d ever add a flying mount to a GOW game, maybe a flying “section,” but because the GOW games are essentially level based, not open world, flying mounts wouldn’t feel quite right, but then again, Ratchet and Clank is level based and they added flying mounts to certain levels, so who knows? I just don’t find flying mounts in linear games all that engaging.
Thank you SO much for not baiting people into watching 5 minutes of no content to reveal that you have to wait until X and there is no trick to it or certain location to go to. I appreciate that!
That was very helpful. I was indeed wanting to fly as soon as possible and thought it was all about cauldrons - so you saved me some frustration for sure! - Thanks!
Really excited to get the flying mount, thanks for the heads up games radar that we get these near the end of the game, will keep an eye our for that quest 😃
It figures they would story lock this mount till the second last story mission in the game. I’m just 50% complete on the campaign, been doing tons of side quests & activities as I work to reveal the map. Just got to the coast, the ocean & waves look fantastic as does the entire game, jaw dropping in fact playing on PS5 performance mode :)
This is why they make NG+. It kinda chapped my ass that we got the Shield weaver armor near the end of Zero Dawn but it's understandable. Having armor that OP for the whole first playthrough takes away alot of the challenge. If we could just fly everywhere right away it would take away ALOT of traversing the environment and discovering new things.
> It kinda chapped my ass that we got the Shield weaver armor near the end of Zero Dawn but it's understandable Not to mention you could still use it during The Frozen Wilds and they even added enemies that could overcharge it (Control Towers).
And more importantly, if there's anything resembling a new game plus mode. You'll probably be able to start summoning Sunwings after you reach The Daunt

Im in the 'Skydrifter Overide' quest im stuck at the point where the objective log states 'Craft the item' . Now what? I am at the base wherw my compas icon directed me to go but when inside, it just tells me to go back outside..? How the hell do I 'craft the item'?
It felt like playing part one all over agin . Where's my original weapons? Why can't I overwrite the sane machines from previous games ? It's like Aloy forgot EVERYTHING .
The game actually has blockades preventing you from going to far to soon while annoying its actually understanding because story wise they dont want you to go to far too soon but man wouldnt it be something if you could you would flat out break the game 😂
This is just like AC Valhalla when you get Thors Armor set… Its too damn late. Its understandable but they should allow that in the middle of the storyline.
So if I want this early I cannot!! I HATE games where they give you something really cool close to the end or at the end of the game with barely anything to use it for!!!!

I cant even imagine how this would be in new game plus. Immediately being able to take off once you hit the main area will be nuts.

Gatdamn towards the end of the game, well that sucks, cause I needed it to get on to this tallneck
If they can just do a patch or update that makes flying much faster and swifter…I’d be a happy man

Can we fly other machines? Or only the pterodactyl looking ones?
The sunwings yeah but only when there is sun as they need to sun to load their wings.
