In Canada our radio stations have to play a certain percentage of Canadian music - now I feel like I can never tell when a song was only nichely popular in Canada or if it was popular everywhere 😭 (Avril is Canadian)
Was not that big of a hit in the US, only charted at 24 but in Canada, Europe and Australia it was a very big hit. Although it did reach double platinum status in the US (2 million sales)
