  • Christmas preparations continue. Sorting through, unfolding and refolding vintage Christmas wrapping paper. Much of the vintage paper is thin and extra crinkly. At the end, I handle some unique packing paper that's thick but crinklier than brown kraft paper. That part is inspired by PoisabloomASMR, whose water damaged newspaper video has changed my life. 🥰 Check out her video here: • ASMR Page Smoothing & ...

I especially love it when crinkled paper is smoothed out on a soft surface (like a mattress). 🤤🤤

🤭 . . . thank you!!! You couldn’t know this (and you may not believe me) but you are my inspiration for starting my channel. I had watched Maria almost ten years, among others, but never ever thought I had anything to contribute to the community. I just enjoyed being entranced and relaxed especially when stressed. Then I encountered your channel about a year and a half ago and noticed something unique, not only in what you do but in what you say about what you do. You link ASMR to nostalgia. And that’s what I’ve always believed, even if I never articulated it that way to myself. That’s the first time I thought I might actually have something to contribute-my nostalgia for the 60s, for my childhood-and I figure there are a good many people our age who could be transported back via those early childhood triggers too. So I took the leap.
Thank you so much for visiting my channel and for your encouragement even when you didn’t know. 💚💚

@@MidModMeridianASMR wow! That is quite a tribute. And I am almost speechless….You definitely have something to contribute. So many people love the 60s and 70s. Since you are so creative, I would not limit myself to just the 60s. You could probably do well depicting the 50s and the 70s or even the 40s. Why not? Just takes a little research.
I started my channel quite by accident. I didn’t think anybody would look at my videos and I didn’t put them up there for that. It was just a space saver for me so I didn’t have to keep my creations stored on my phone. There were very few people making the kinds of videos that I wanted to see. But the few that I found like ASMR girl and a few others, I fell in love with. I formulated my theory about ASMR before I even started my channel. My triggers were all in my good memories and I knew that very well. So when I saw that people were talking to me (Which was a shock) I was absolutely sure of what I wanted to do. Create my own memory triggers. For myself. Not for anyone else. Later it became important to me to create other peoples memories. You never know what’s gonna happen. Sometimes I still shake my head wondering how this all happened. LOL

You’re right. You never know what’s going to happen, but you find the blessings as they come to you.
I started out with the 60s in mind because I already had most of my props in my home. I’ve since invested in a few more unusual things (my postal scale), but I had a good foundation of things collected and inherited.
Other mid century scenarios, though, are definitely in my future. Would love to do 40s through 70s. But I’ll have to let my channel grow more before making a few new investments. I’m getting ready to retire which will give me time to make videos more often. I really love doing this. I didn’t know what my post-retirement hobby was going to be even a year ago, and now . . . I am happy as a clam. ☺️
