Once a person can I understand Igbo you will be able to understand 85% of Igbo language in any Igbo town. An example Afa/Aha = name. It just a matter of making intelligent guesses. Every language has dialects. I have to admit I am not in support of IPOB's approach but I commend them for helping the communities of Igbanke. Long long ago, Ibos lived West of the Niger river with everyone else. Spearheaded by the Binis who have had an insane abhorrence for cannibalism, a proclamation was made prohibiting the practice i.e. cannibalism. Many tribes refused to give up the practice of cannibalism and so were chased out with ferocity. Most of these tribes were chase into the Congo region but a few of them did not go as far. They were banished to the empty forest East of the Niger. These are the Ibos of today and that is why they remained isolated in that forest for most of their existence.

He said a few of them claim might something else, but that real Igbanke people recognize their igbo heritage. I never knew that until we became friends. Then i followed him home to Igbanke when he lost his Dad. It was a shock to me bcos their tradition Igbo like us in the hinterland with minor changes. Wher they speak i follow very well. Why are we in Nigeria that hate us this much? When Arabambi attacked Peter Obi because of Julius Abure he said that Peter Obi is supporting him because Abure is Igbo on an international tv yet they will not allow us to be together because they are targeting our territories. They sent some of their people from Ile Ife into our territory to infiltrate us. They are the ones called the Bini people today. Please Nigerian people leave Ndi Igbo alone. Some Anioma towns have some Bini influence for example Eze Chime that many towns in Delta State North ( Anioma ) are direct descendants. Eze Chime was married to the daughter of the Oba of Benin. So that is where the Benin influence comes into play but Eze Chime himself was originally from AROCHUKWU in present day Abia State. That is a big Fulani lie. The truth is that the Igbos are the largest ethnic group or tribe in Nigeria in terms of numbers. Do you know thaf the Fulanis are just about 5 million in Nigeria? They packaged themselves with Hausas as one and started calling it Hausa/Fulani to gain numbers even though these are two distinct tribes with complete two different languages. The north is not one, there are more than 200 tribes in northern Nigeria. We were lied to, to believe that the entire is one tribe called Hausa/Fulani.

Arguments are not facts. Agbor and ika and indeed Igbanke are not Igbos. So to talk of denial is neither here nor there. Deny for what. Our ancestry is Edo. Simple. And why all these foraging by igbos from the SE. If it is truely altruistic then they can state their "fa😊cts" and leave it there. To keep rubbing it all over and insisting is so silly as if they on a mission to capture territories by guile. Rubbish all. And very irritating.

Our Edo language always says for time immemorial...Gie no ze Ika ha ze Ika, ge no zu Udo ha ze Udo... In English, it simply means, (we) allow those in Ika to speak Ika and those in Udo to speak Udo, we are one under one ancestor !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This saying has been there written on stone in our Edo idiom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO ASK!
Igbanke is under Orhionwon Local Government of EDO STATE, but we speak Igbo, SO? That is your answer right there my brother, you are an Edo descendant, fool! The EMPIRE went up to Ghana, Dahomey... So, you are confused because you speak Igbo DIALETE but you forget your ancestors! The Onitcha people are mainly from Edo and are undeniably so said Obi of Onitcha, go ask.
So, all the little pikin are short of their history, there is no history in school, and therefore DEVOID of their actual culture, can anyone blame them, NO!

IF YOU ARE FROM BENIN YOU MUST "SPEAK BENIN LANGUAGE VERY FLUENTLY" AS YOUR MOTHER AND FATHER TONGUE 😝 LANGUAGE WORDS LIKE MAMA, PAPA, "THAT IS THE LAW OF NATURE IN THE UNIVERSE" PLUS THE BENIN CULTURES,TRADITION, YOUR NAMES AND VALUES MUST BE A PART OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES. SO IF ANY OF THESE THINGS I MENTIONED ARE NOT PART OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, THEN YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD A 🤥 LIE 🤥ABOUT WHO 🧒 YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE.

@@christineanderson7360 Far, far fowl! Nonsense, nonsense, nonsense. Go check again what I initially commented and think and analyze what I said! When we CONQUERED people there, they already have their language by we PUT our LEADERSHIP and make them PAY HOMAGE TO US THE EDO WITHOUT CHANGING WHATEVER THEY SPEAK! We were not like the French who conquered and had the people speak French! Mumu, Ozuo, you are too small to tell me history and the nuances!!
