My review on the submarine model is that the submarine is unfit for mopping the house completely. The company recommends the machine only for cleaning spills and not for mopping My interaction with the company customer service executives advises, suggests and recommends that the submarine cannot be used for complete mopping of our home and instead can be used only for spills This is not worth a product for the cost Having such high brand value and carrying false claims as a mopping machine
I checked the price and it's about 50% more than I paid for the Dyson V11 Absolute in 2019... which already was far from cheap. I think I'll stick to the V11 and the inexpensive steam mop combo I've got.
I did a similiar thing. I bought a gen 5 at discount price and have a steam cleaner. Surely using boiling steam is more hygienic than using cold water.
I bought this two weeks ago from Dyson's website, through chatting option. Guy convinced me to buy this machine with 20% discount and free shipping, which I thing was not a bad deal. I request chatting because I confused with the same $940 price tag on both versions of V15 submarine. One is also;ute with full hepa filtration and one without, that looks exactly as same as regular last years v15. Of course I got absolute version.
Thank you for the informative review! I saw an ad today about the Dyson submarine and liked the idea, so started more research about it. I have a Dyson V10 and love it for everyday use! For mopping often use my Bissel Crosswave wet vacuum. About Bissel love the vacuum but needs cleaning the vacuum after and drying it before putting away, so most of the time use just a mop. The reason I bought Bissel, is to skip vacuuming before mopping the floor... Definitely, the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine is not for us. The main reason, is the attachment only mopping the floor without vacuuming.
You forgot to mention the most interesting point: the attachments are all model specific. I have the Gen 5 Outsize (or what ever - the bigger one) and they have identical attachments but the submarine is keyed to prevent swapping attachments. Also batteries are NOT interchangeable either. 😢
I hate thst it can only mop or suck. I have a dreame h12pro I have zero complaints I absolutely love it. I own a samsung bespoke jet for normal vacuuming and a dyson v10 if my samsung is having a deep clean. I often deep clean my vacuums. So I swap between my samsung and my dyson. And on all my hard floors I use my dreameh12 Pro. Can't fault dreame at all the battery life is insanely fantastic. Samsung bespoke yet again fabulous no issue and looks like a piece or art. And dyson is now 4yr old and still going strong can't fault it. I finally have a wet mop and vacuum thst all do the job supposed too. Why would j through out my working v10 to go for s submarine costing over £800 here in 🇬🇧. When it can only vac or mop . My dreameh 122vpro socks up anything I throw at it. I can vacuum wash and dry and recharge and self clean and dry all at same time. No dyson you have failed to convert me or even impress me.
How does the V15s Detect Submarine compare to the gen5? looks like the submarine has the improved filter that the gen5 has and the built-in dust wand, but it also has a trigger for power. Does it have the brighter light on the hard floor roller like the gen5? So, without the mop, is it a V15 or a Gen5??
Hi. I did not understand well about the compatible with V15 Detect absolute. I have this model and wants to buy additional tool - this submarine head. Is it ok? Thank you
It looks like the moping head can be used separately from the Dyson body after some minor adjustments. The head looks simple and easy to use and to clean comparing to other mops. I wish they start selling it separately or some china company copies it.
every DYSON I owned has failed in and out of warranty. Bought the hair dryer for my GF lasted 16 months. Id rater by a cheap knock off every year then spend the money with Dyson. England and electronics don't mix. think old jaguar and lucas lol So done with Dyson.
Me personally I would never ever buy a dyson again. We have the v10 absolute, and after 6months the battery was dead (was replaced under warranty). Just now, 5years after purchase, the motor broke down, the repair was >200$, and the guy in the shop told me that we were lucky because usually the motor lasts only 3-4years. Seriously? For a 800 USD device? My wife wants it, me personally I would have bought a normal vacuum instead, and not these overpriced planned obsolescence devices.
Just to let you all know that the runtimes shown here are not based on the average user in the home and after having the machine for several months!! I have a V15 and I only get around 18 - 20 minutes when using on carpets!! What is not mentioned anywhere here is that batteries degrade over time and so the user will not get the same run time they did when the machine is brand new. Run time as a handheld on Medium mode is 40 minutes when new and then reduces to around 33 minutes and this will reduce further as the battery wears. Another issue I have encountered is the DLS Dynamic Load Sensor does not work the same when the filter gets dirty, so result in the particle counter showing the machine picking up significantly less than when the filter is washed. The Dynamic Load Sensor stops detecting that I am on carpets as the filter gets dirty and so stays on the 'hard floor setting' resulting in poorer performance. So proves that Dyson do lose suction as the filter pores clog, just like how a bag vacuum loses suction as the pores clog. I feel that I have been lied to by Dyson all these years with their No Loss Of Suction claims!!
What??… not another Dyson product that cant deliver?! [Bissell] and [Shark] have entered the chat… God, it’s like the whole Dyson robot thing all over again… and again!! 🤡🤡🤡
So basically the mop attachment can be sloted into a wand, into a 3D printed handle with batteries in it connected directly to the power teminals and it would have the same effect. No wonder they dont sell it separately. Seems almost trivial to get it working without a Dyson. That is unless it doesn't operate without communicating to the vacuum (they are doing some communication which allows the vacuum to stop its suction)
I would love to know how it works on dark gloss hardwood floors and the smudge/grease marks that inevitably show up everywhere. If it handled those I would definitely buy.
I don't find anywhere to buy the Submarine + Absolute model (the blue filter one) Even the link in the description points to a violet one, without Absolute.. And also I want to understand if I can use detergent for the mop facility?
I just bought this today. I think the mop attachment is meant to replace traditional stick mop and bucket and its not meant to be used for picking up large dry debris (something that you wouldn't do with a mop anyway). Vacuum first, mop after. In case of spill spillage, pick up big chunks with tissue and then use this (just like how you would do with a manual mop).
I like it, hoover first then mop. Normal mops just slop dirty around. Your review didn’t assess mop vs submarine with a dirty floor, that would be interesting !
So ignoring the mop function is it comparable with the v15 or the gen5 ? It appears to be the v15. Given the gen5 is a step up from the v15 this would be a step backwards for vacuuming
Do you have a video on how to detect if your battery is going on the Dyson? I have had a Dyson for 5 years and I think the battery is going but I’m not sure and I don’t want to spend 150 bucks on a battery if that’s not the issue. I have done all their tests that Dyson recommends online and every time I do a test the result is different so I had to come to vacuum wars with your vast knowledge of Dyson vacuums to ask. Thanks in advance 😊
Thank you for the report! great video. Just one question, please, do you need to be pushing all the time the action botton so that the machine works? or you push it just once and then the machine works all the time? If you need to be pushing, maybe the finger gets tired. Thank you so much.
I love and hate the soft roller. I love the laser that shows all the unseen dust and how well it cleans; however, the AMOUNT OF TIME TO CLEAN THE SOFT ROLLER HEAD IS NOT WORTH MY TIME USING IT!!! Having a long hair dog means the mechanical parts of the soft roller bar constantly gets clogged with MASIVE amount of hair and the two little floor wheels gets jammed with hair every time. Also the plastic gear on the soft roller tens to self disintegrate due to the high torque. Since I am the only person who do the cleaning maintenance, after the vacuum is used in the house I will have to spend another 20~30min just to clean the entire soft roller for next use. I am packing it away regardless how good of job it can do to save myself slave over the maintenance nonsense for now. Since the Motor Head is equally efficient as the soft roller on hard surfaces tests while much easier to clean and can go unto the carpets without switching heads, what I would LOVE to see Dyson do is simply put the laser onto the Motor Head itself and maybe even make it a bit slimmer to be able to slid under more lower opening areas. Motor Head with Lase + the Submarine Head + Low Reach Adapter I think is what most household would ever need; otherwise, I may just go and get few vacuum robots and forget about owning a Dyson!
Am I just crazy, or is this not actually that expensive? I just found them in Australia for 1350 AUD which is 890 USD. Australia is very expensive in comparison to the US too
I read on their website that Dyson recommends to replace the wet roller every 6 months, but the only accessory listed for the submarine is the whole head assembly at $250. Will they just sell the actual roller so it's affordable to maintain?
I feel duped and bamboozled and taunted by Dyson. why would Dyson debut an attachment and only make it compatible with one of their older models. I splurged and went for the Dyson Gen5 detect, where is the gen5 mop attachment? ? ! Why would anyone want to get the latest most expensive Dyson when the older models are still the ones having all the fun and getting all the attention? Talk about betrayal. I’m salty about this. Also why even call it a v15 if it’s not compatible with v15 models that predate this release. you’re just asking for a wave of chaos, confusion , and customer complaints. And lastly, bring back the neon pink acccents colors. This latest copper scheme seen here and on my v12 slim is UGLY A F!! did I mention that im salty?
So all it does is provide power from its batteries to the head through its prongs then. Does the electronics turn the suction off or is it making the loud noise even when only turning the rollerbar?
Also anyone found a good use for the Particle Count Graph on the display? I guess the first or second uses can be informative but you'd just get used to suction going up or down when the same is achieved. I'd like to see people's uses for it. It'll be interesting.
1300 for an electric mop... And you need to vacuum first before use... I think a robot vacuum with a mopping feature seems to be a better option on a daily basis... Unless you want sparkling clean result...
TBH, just... use a mop IMO so much easier to use IMO their model name is so confusing that I accidentally bought the total clean detect thinking it has a hepa filter??!!!! and the quick thing.... wish I watched this first.
$1000 and it sucks. They need to offer a device that can vacuum , mop and dry at that price . I love my Dyson vacuum but absolutely hate that I can’t clean my entire house while on high. Please do better Dyson.
Too gimmicky. A manual mop that will do a better job mopping than this, cost $20 and does not require electricity. When it wears out, just buy another for $20.
The million $ question is; Did you actually try the submarine on the other Dyson's? To me it looks like the attachment uses the vacuum for power only. Is it like this LED light attachment you can add to the system, and the motor-head attachments doesn't work? I don't get how this can be "programming issue"...
This model can turn off the motor so that it only provides electricity to the floorhead without any suction. Older models can't do that so they will stall out and turn themselves off
We have recently purchased this vacuum; hubby bought it. I find it too heavy, I don’t like that the trigger needs to be held the whole time, which causes hand strain for me. Most of all I find it won’t reach under furniture that sits low on the floor, and as we have hard floors that’s where lots of dust and hair gathers.
Agree. My mom can't use it because it is heavy and you have to use the button to work which for old people or young children might not work. It does t pick any debris. For dry debris, you have to vacuum, fpr wet debris you have to clean yourself by hand first so people with dogs, babies, mud.....I recommend against it
My review on the submarine model is that the submarine is unfit for mopping the house completely. The company recommends the machine only for cleaning spills and not for mopping
My interaction with the company customer service executives advises, suggests and recommends that the submarine cannot be used for complete mopping of our home and instead can be used only for spills
This is not worth a product for the cost
Having such high brand value and carrying false claims as a mopping machine
I checked the price and it's about 50% more than I paid for the Dyson V11 Absolute in 2019... which already was far from cheap.
I think I'll stick to the V11 and the inexpensive steam mop combo I've got.
I did a similiar thing. I bought a gen 5 at discount price and have a steam cleaner. Surely using boiling steam is more hygienic than using cold water.
$1000 for a new attachment? 😂😂😂😂 no thanks
We hope you enjoy it!
I tried and was not offered a discount. 😞
v15 oceangate edition
Thank you for the informative review! I saw an ad today about the Dyson submarine and liked the idea, so started more research about it. I have a Dyson V10 and love it for everyday use! For mopping often use my Bissel Crosswave wet vacuum. About Bissel love the vacuum but needs cleaning the vacuum after and drying it before putting away, so most of the time use just a mop. The reason I bought Bissel, is to skip vacuuming before mopping the floor... Definitely, the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine is not for us. The main reason, is the attachment only mopping the floor without vacuuming.
check out the Roborock Dyad, it seems to be like the bissel crosswave but has a self cleaning function. Haven't used any of these myself, just saw it
@@shellderp Thank you for your recommendation! I need to check it out!
You forgot to mention the most interesting point: the attachments are all model specific. I have the Gen 5 Outsize (or what ever - the bigger one) and they have identical attachments but the submarine is keyed to prevent swapping attachments.
Also batteries are NOT interchangeable either. 😢
Thank you
Are you serious?? What the actual fk kind of anti consumer trash is that
Could you test it on a more textured floor? Like tiles that are not completely flat (plus how well it cleans the space between tiles).
It doesn't clean the space between tiles. I have to use the steamer on regular flat floor to clean some more because they are still dirty
Why the hell couldn't they make this an addon for the Gen 5 instead of releasing a whole new model?
Would love a comparison between this and something like the tineco s5.
Tineco will win hands down!
I alway's vscuum before I mop, no matter what system i use.
If dyson comes out with a great and easy to clean full sized (not just a moping attachment) washing vacuum I would buy it,
They won’t. Dyson aren’t investing in the full size corded format anymore
Get the Numatic/Henry George. Much better than any piece of garbage Dyson. Big Green Clean Machine from Bissel for Carpet.
We have 4 cats and 2 dogs in 3 room flat 60m² 😅 that's why we bought V15absolut detect year ago. Best vacuum which we had 🙂
that's 650 square feet for Americans
Video starts at 3:20.
3:49 Ah. I was hoping I can attach it to the V11.
Thanks for the detailed info, friend. It is very helpful.
I vacuum so often my v15 almost never detects particles.
Dang! How many times do you vacuum in your house!?
Hi. I did not understand well about the compatible with V15 Detect absolute. I have this model and wants to buy additional tool - this submarine head. Is it ok? Thank you
add: My head of filter is violet
This is no better than the mop attachment on my LG CordZero that simply rotates two damp pads.
It looks like the moping head can be used separately from the Dyson body after some minor adjustments. The head looks simple and easy to use and to clean comparing to other mops. I wish they start selling it separately or some china company copies it.
I think the only issue is that the hole is blocked and the vacuum would give an alert. Just a firmware update, really.
every DYSON I owned has failed in and out of warranty. Bought the hair dryer for my GF lasted 16 months. Id rater by a cheap knock off every year then spend the money with Dyson. England and electronics don't mix. think old jaguar and lucas lol So done with Dyson.
Any other electrical mop & vacuum would have received a crushing review for not picking up even the smallest of debris
Anyone else’s heart drop seeing the spider hairball around 5:30? Happy Halloween everyone
I’m surprised you didn’t review or advise on using soap in the Dyson and what you would use as a “neat” soap
can we get a new test that rates how easy it is to clean the filters/whole machine?
Yes, I agree. The difficulty of cleaning out vac mops is not shown in the majority of reviews I’ve watched.
Finally they released a new a new version of v15
it will be interesting to see a review of the Roborock Dyad Pro as well, as it has the most interesting specs out of all Mopping Vacuum Cleaners
What??… not another Dyson product that cant deliver?!
[Bissell] and [Shark] have entered the chat…
God, it’s like the whole Dyson robot thing all over again… and again!!
🤡🤡🤡
Never consider buying anything anymore until i visit your channel. Thanks so much for all you do ❤
You are so welcome!
I wonder if it is okay to add liquid floor cleaner soap to the water in this attachment.
I.dont think it does. I have toddler spit and breastmilk drops on the floor dried out....and it doesn't clean them up
I don't find anywhere to buy the Submarine + Absolute model (the blue filter one) Even the link in the description points to a violet one, without Absolute..
I don't know you, but the mop didn't properly clean my screen, in fact I can see it is still dirty.
The fact that it doesn't suction while mopping makes it kind of odd. The tineco I have vacuums while mopping and that makes all the difference.
I like it, hoover first then mop. Normal mops just slop dirty around. Your review didn’t assess mop vs submarine with a dirty floor, that would be interesting !
I’ve tried both the Tineco S5 and the Dyson submarine and the the Tineco blows the Dyson out of the water
So ignoring the mop function is it comparable with the v15 or the gen5 ? It appears to be the v15. Given the gen5 is a step up from the v15 this would be a step backwards for vacuuming
I have a cheapish steam mop for these tasks so combined with my v15 classic I see no advantage to the submarine
Waiting for a review of Tineco One floor S7 Combo when it hits the market. Hope you will have a chance to test it.
Vacuuming before mopping makes a lot of sense, like sweeping before mopping.
Is anyone else dizzy trying to keep up with what Dyson does what and what is a better one?
We try to help!
You do a goddam great job. Hats off to yas.
Unless you want sparkling clean result...
so, it's a mop you attach to a vacuum making the vacuum, a mop....This is the vacuum equivalent of the Dyson Face Mask...terrible execution.
TBH, just... use a mop IMO so much easier to use IMO
their model name is so confusing that I accidentally bought the total clean detect thinking it has a hepa filter??!!!! and the quick thing.... wish I watched this first.
You should buy and review the shark stainstriker carpetxpert carpet cleaner and shark stainstriker portable sot cleaner
Great, like I need another Dyson. They do a good job on re-inventing themselves.
Why the F*** did I buy Eufy Mach v1 ultra?!!!!! When this was coming out! Hope they say it's not as good lmao
I really wish they had made a mopping attachment for the new gen5detect.
Can we please get a new best vacuum video focusing on pet hair
$1000 and it sucks. They need to offer a device that can vacuum , mop and dry at that price . I love my Dyson vacuum but absolutely hate that I can’t clean my entire house while on high. Please do better Dyson.
Too gimmicky. A manual mop that will do a better job mopping than this, cost $20 and does not require electricity. When it wears out, just buy another for $20.
Still awaiting your review of the J9+ roomba combo!
I order It now fore 5 minute ago. It be nice😊
The particle counter is a hox... I expected that Vacuum wars would check if this gimic is actually doing anything...
Older models can't do that so they will stall out and turn themselves off
@@alex9621 Thank you.
really excited for this review ngl
great!
For dry debris, you have to vacuum, fpr wet debris you have to clean yourself by hand first so people with dogs, babies, mud.....I recommend against it
No money, no fanny.
Since there is no suction to the mop head why make it exclusive to the V15s submarine? The power leads are there to provide power to the rollers like their other heads. It just makes no sense to me, I would buy just the head to use with my V8 Animal. Come on Dyson get it together now!
The v15 vacuum is good but the parts are cheap, especially the submarine attachment, which looks like a prototype. Definitely not worth the price tag and would never consider the first or second iteration of a product.
So silly that they didn’t make the new attachment backwards compatible with V15. Programming issue my ass.
