Thank you for the review. I bought the fly cheek headguard and was considering buying the super bar x
Great review yet again. Thank you. I need to wait for a better exchange rate. 😳⏳
X line looks considerably bigger side by side, prefer the look of the leather version. Great thorough review!
Thanks for doing this!!
Just ordered this based on your review! Fly should definitely partner with you to some degree, no one else reviews their products as thoroughly as you do. Thanks again!
Just brought a leather one in the black and red, great review mate 🥊🥊🥊
Does the bar touch your nose? or is there gap between nose and bar? thanks
You also have to bare in mind that the Premium Leather version is made to order and takes time to be made vs the X Line is normally in stock
Great review as always 👊
Great review, cheers. I must say I'm torn between these two..
Is the face protection bar supposed to actually touch your nose? If not how big should the gap be between your nose, and the bar?
Really appreciate your reviews man. Got my fly x headgear and gloves for sparring and the addispeed for bagwork and im Really happy with my gear. Dont think it can get better. I had issues with my headgear moving when i would sweat but just needed to tighten it real good and solved the issue. Have you tried the new boxeo TM torres medina gloves?
Glad my reviews have helped and you are enjoying my channel
Not tryed Boxeo Tm yet
You should check them out and do a review on them. Most comfortable and on weight mexican style gloves ive tried. And I personally hate mexican style gloves like reyes
Thanks review! How much this super bar? And if i buy this, what size fitable for me? I used M size winning
Also another thing I’d like to point out you can ask for a buckle and your name put on it and things like that but only on the full leather one
Thanks for your amazing videos! :D
Yes you are correct the chin is exposed in facebar headguards
And the bar does impede your vision more than say a cheek headguard
I’m very used to using a facebar head guard so I am able to block uppercuts but definitely a more difficult shot to block with a facebar
Are they the same dimensions? Because the X looks considerably bigger with a larger gap for the eyes
I use m on my title cheeck protection headgear. Idk I need to change it up to a L for this headgear… lmk your thoughts, my cap size is 7 1/2
Do you find that the bar touches or presses on your nose with the fly superbar headhear?
What do you think of the new Elite SHG-210 cheek headguard from Phenom? Looks very very similar to the winning FG-2900 I thinking of getting it as it is only 125 quid and quality looks very top notch.
I have one to review not tested yet but I agree with your views
I got the Fly Super Bar X in Blue and Gold it is fantastic best value for money
Hi mate do you think I should get the fly superloop leather and use it for both sparring and bag work or get the fly superloop X along with a bag glove to use separately. I’m on a budget of £400.
Great channel btw
Definitely 2 pairs
@@Fit2Box cheers mate love your channel by the way. Could you give a reccomendation for bag gloves below £150? Thanks

Hi and thanks for the review, very informative. I received mine today and the nose bar actually touches my nose. Is that how its supposed to be or should there be a gap between your nose and the bar? thanks for your help.
Squeeze the sides to create more nose room
Have it on and forcefully press the sides of the head guard that will change the shape of the metal cage inside
It can be changed many times
@@Fit2BoxThanks so much! it feels better already. Take care
@@alett88 you should be able to get a near perfect fit for your head
Don’t let anyone wear your headguard
As it will change the shape from your head
The more you use it the more it will shape to your head
I have problems with my nose and it can't take shots. I wanted to ask you, do the blows to the nose come more lightly or do they not come at all? You would be doing me a great favor by replying, thank you
If fitted correctly then you nose is protected
As I always say the headguard should not be part of your defence
Improve your hand defences head movement and footwork to reduce blows received
A bit off topic . What are your opinions of the rival RS100 sparring gloves . I have watched your video on them but was wondering if you’re opinion has changed ?
This was my my most recent video on them my opinion of them hasn’t changed since then
ruclips.net/video/7IJpraEY_rI/видео.html
@@Fit2Box I recently purchased them from a friend in the green and gold . Only used for about 25 2 min rounds . He didn’t like them I paid 110 pounds for them . The retail was 180 I think
@@ashman4473 what didn’t he like and do you like them?
@@Fit2Box they were too small when he had hand wraps on and they were tight around his thumb . But he has massive hands they are 18oz. Yes I like them a lot they are very comfortable and smooth when punching if that makes sense
@@ashman4473 sounds like he needed 20oz
The metal buckle doesn't look like it will be that comfortable against your jaw without a pad there? I ordered one, I hope it won't be a problem when I get it.
Have you received it? Also how’d you know what size to get?
I just need nose protecting headgear that has great visibility
@@WholesaleJewelleryAustralia and I don't have it yet. It should be arriving here this week. Subscribe to my channel because I will do a review video on it
Do you recommend a face saver or head guard with cheek protectors for a someone just starting to spar?
I think cheek protector
Hey fit2box when you tried on the medium did it fit too tight?? I am also a 22.5 and I’m wondering how a medium might fit because I have the large
@fit2box
How is the large for you
@@Fit2Box the large fits me well on my temples when tightened all the way but still slides a bit once I sweat in it, like I said I’m a 22.5 so do you think I should stick with the large or make the exchange for the medium? I know it’s hard to see seeing as we’re only speaking thru RUclips but any advice helps Fit2Box I appreciate all your reviews and your consistency in replies 🙏
@@jeremyenriquez2250 maybe the medium will be a better fit as mine doesn’t move at all
If the bar touches my nose is that because the size is too small? I order a medium overall it doesnt feel too small but it does touch push up on my nose a bit. Ive tried pressing to make it fit better but it doesnt really budge. My nose btw isnt really that large.
I’m on the cusp of medium and large
Both fit but large is a more comfortable fit more nose space
Should the Fly facesaver headgear be snug in the cheek area? I went off the size guide and got a Large. While it fits around the head when laced all the way, it isn’t snug around the cheeks. I wasn’t sure if that’s normal for facesavers given the cage, or if that’s a sign it’s too big
Does it move?
Is it comfortable ?
@@Fit2Box It is comfortable, but it did move last night during sparring
@@_HomerR needs tightening as my doesn’t move
Thanks for this video. I ordered size L and my head is 58,5. Did i choose the right size?
Same as mine 👍🏼
My headgear arrived. For rhe first look, it touches my nose. Is it a problem? Im not sure i need an xl, or i have to make it to m head, to fit. Or test it.
@@braschbence have you pressed the sides to give you more nose room
The alloy cage is strong but can be shaped with some pressure
Thank you. I'v not tried yet. I will let Ou know!! Thanks very much!!
Sometimes it`s nice, sometimes not. If i move my head up, than it touches. But i have to try it in a sparring session. I just affraid, if it hits my nose hard, when a straight shot comes. But it fits my head good, so i dont think, the XL could be the right size. Should i try to bend more?
Just to let you guys know the new fly head guard premium line has a plastic thing like winning, the strap at the bottom has changed, was very happy with that, they made the Change !
Talkin about the head guard with the bar
Me too !!
i wonder can the gloves touch your eyes in sparring?
The Superbar X is still sold out in L as of now, but the M is still in stock. I'm wondering if you think I'd be able to manipulate one in M to fit my head (my head is roughly the same size as yours, around 22.5 inches)
For extra reference, I wear L in the FG2900, but I tie the laces all the way down so that there is no gap at all at the back of the headgear to expose the back of my head.
@@keanan5360 you could maybe get away with the medium then
@@Fit2Box Hmm, how would you compare the sizes between the Cleto Reyes traditional facesaver and the Superbar in L sizewise?
@@keanan5360 I’m 22.5 in, and have a medium and a large FLY X Superbar. Fit is good on BOTH. 👍
@@jeffc7502 Which size do you prefer? Should I go with the L to have more room for error/adjustability?
I ordered 1 week ago from germany i dont get any massage till today? Do they have delivery problems?
No I don’t think so
Don’t worry
Very good company to deal with 👍🏼
Can you do weight in grams
I think I’d love to get this headgear but the lace up on the back makes me hesitant! Every time we spar I gotta have someone lace me up compared to just using Velcro!
Edit I bought the headgear bit shaky when sparring it moves and me nose has been getting busted when it gets hit it pushes against my nose!
maybe not ur size@@Connergoade
I fit in size L winning full face what size would you recommend for fly ?
Same - large
Im split between the fly superbar x headguard and the fighting face saver headguard idk what to pick😅
www.fit2boxchannel.com/face-bar-headguards
what is the best way ti treat synthetic leather at the moment I give my Superbar X and fly Wraith X a wipe down with a towel to get rid of the sweat can I use leather protector spray to treat the synthetic leather?
Well the leather cleaner won’t sink into the synthetic leather like it does the animal skin
So a wipe down with a anti bacterial wipe and a towel will be fine
@@Fit2Box thank you mate much appreciated
What size did you order in the white Superbar?
Got mine in large my head is 22.5 inch
The X facebar has a clip style buckle now instead of belt style.
Do these headguards have an aluminum cage or plastic/rigid cage?
Have you watched the video ?
How can I tell my size for the fly headgear
If you go on their website the sizing will be on there
Where can I get them? Website seems to be sold out
I think they have recently had a restock
Which is better, this one or a winning type?
www.fit2boxchannel.com/face-bar-headguards
theyre both the same right? the white one and black one?
Have you watched the video?
Hey there, does this head guard protect the eyes?
👀 yes
The bar on the leather version doesn't stick out as far
When wearing it I haven’t noticed it so it’s not a significant difference
How do I figure out what size I should get if I’m ordering
See website for size guide and measure you head and match to size guide 👍🏼
@@Fit2Box thanks boss 👍🏽
When getting hit hard does the bar go back and touches your nose ?
Not if fitted properly or your defence is as good as mine 😉
Haha. I just got one but the bar is so close to the nose even after bending it to my face that I’m not sure if the bar there will do more harm then good.
@@vinovino9640 did you get the correct size for you
I wish it had a plastic clip like Winning instead of the metal buckle
Me too
@@Fit2Box i just ordered a Fly Xline Superbar in the new Gold and Black colorway they just released to match my premium Black and Gold Fly Superlace. I just got a Winning FG-2900 based on your recommendation and I love it but I also want a facebar just in case
Do they slip around on your head?
Not when fitted correctly no
Superb review of what appears to be two great face-saver headgears from FLY. For me, the buckle closure on the chin-strap is a deal-breaker. 🙁
If FLY were ever to bring back a mini-clip closure on the chin strap (as was used on their original X-Line cheek protectors and also on their previous genuine leather version), I'd jump on them in a heartbeat.
Again, thanks for another great review, Simon!
With love, appreciation, and respect from the USA.
Yes I must admit a durable plastic clip chin fastening is definitely my favourite fastening
Thankyou for your support!
When i bought the fly hesdgear i thought they still use the clip closure cause they still use the same picture in the website. Was pretty dissapointed since i don't like buckle closures but still a good headgear in general
What size is did you get the black one in? I ordered small yesterday but I think I possibly might’ve made a mistake.
My head is around 20.6inch circumstance and I want the best visibility possible and for the headgear to not be moving around 😭
My head is 22.5 inches I have large in headguards although I can also fit in medium
I find large a little more comfortable
I was kicking around getting one but the regular headgear already gives great nose protection.
Can you tell me what size in the FLY Knight X headgear you have and what is the circumference size of your head?
@@jeffc7502 I wear a 7 3/8 hat size and I wear a large. There is no lace space in the back of the head gear. In other words, you can’t see the back of my head when I wear it. Basically I have a small large heard, or I’m a really big medium. I hope that helps.
@@jeffc7502 * I’m in the States so I’m using American units and not metric units, in case you’re in 🇬🇧
@@carbonfiberfan Thank you, and that is quite helpful.
If I am correct, 7 3/8 is the equivalent to 23 1/8th according to the size chart on FLY’s website. The FLY headgear Large range falls between 22.5-24, so if anything (since you really can’t tie the laces any smaller), this would suggest that the small end of a size Large is more likely close to 23 in (although Simon’s 22.5 in head fits the Large as well).
In sum, from what I gather, it sounds like FLY’s size chart is pretty accurate-although it’s worth noting here for other readers that it is NOT the same equivalent (but close) as the Winning size chart.
With that being said, I find the medium Winning FG5K to fit me much better than the large FG5K (which is too bulky IMO), but the FLY SUPERBAR X in a size large fits me very good.
Thank you again for your helpful response! 👊😉👍
@@carbonfiberfan My reason for asking was I am wondering if a medium FLY Superbar would work well for me (if not better than my large), as I’ve always felt that-comfort permitting of course-the smaller the target (in this case the overall headgear size), the better!
What size is your L or XL
Mine is large
Can you do a review on the fly x check guard ?
It’s in the pipeline
I had to choose which to do first this or the cheek version
This video won
Can you see uppercuts with them I really don’t want a broken nose when I start so maybe this is my best bet to get?
I would go with a cheek headguard and develop your skills rather than rely on the facebar as part of your defence
@@Fit2Box does it still protect your nose from getting broke? What’s the difference
@@Hondafn well the protection of a face bar is very good but the bar does give you less vision so it’s a trade off
Protection for vision
Much better to work on your hand defence
Head movements and footwork than expect the facebar to protect
Do these actually stop you getting nose bleeds?, or does the bar hit you nose when someone hits you?
If fitted properly then it should prevent hits to the nose if it’s loose then yes you have a punch and a bar hitting your nose
@@Fit2Box Thanks, I just tried the winning face saver on tonight and the bar was touching my nose, I also tried the cleto Reyes tradional facesaver on and there was a nice gap between the bar and my nose, nice and tight aswel.
@@ObbardProductions with winning you can apply pressure to the sides to bend the aluminium cage inside to give you more nose room and a better fit
Don’t do this with the Reyes as it is a nylon bar and will snap
What is this size in video?
