plastic is recyclable I've seen it recycled as a 3d printer - tinkerer you have lots of plastic waste it can be melted down and drew through a small hole to get thin round strands ready to be reprinted.
Some plastics are more recyclable than others. It comes down to the polymer type, colours and purity
