The main problem is weather conditions and end usage demands, electric vehicles work for most daily usage but fail in many fringe circumstances. The performance really suffers in cold climates as well. Like having an ev in a rural area in the north is an inferior option compared to an ice vrhicle
Almost every country has electricity accept Africa. Even Africa is getting electrified. Also with solar panels electricity is no more a problem. Yemen a third world has one of the largest share or solar in it's grid.
Depends on your budget and your commute. I would look into plug in hybrids if you can afford it. Electric I would currently only recommend if you live in a place with a lot of public chargers in the surrounding area
You forgot one important detail. For all these 100 years we have been improving electric cars. We have improved motors, improved electronics, improved batteries. And after 100 years of development, internal combustion engines are still better. Oil is much more efficient, cheaper, emits less pollution than lithium, has thousands of times more energy per kilogram of weight. We are switching to electric cars not because they are better but simply because we have no choice, because oil is running out. You should research more.
@@nicomotor ICE still runs to charge batteries in hybrids! I hate when people say, that hybrids are any better. Hybrids are made for sport, because it is op to have electromotor on each wheel for a race. No way u should buy hybrids, they are the worst ever! Pure electric cars are technically more efficient and may produce less pollution in the future.

I was gonna say the same thing as I live in Colorado mountains
What about ev car with a petrol or diesel generator?
Why rely on batteries alone ?
It does exist. There was even a mazda crossover with a rotary generator. But its still like an ICE engine since youre still burning fuel.
I still think HEVs are a better use case scenario in third world countries rather than PHEVs.
Why is that? You don't need to charge a PHEV. The only advantage the regular hybrid has is cost

So, if I was in the market for a car today, should I get a gas, electric or hybrid car?
Depends on your budget and your commute. I would look into plug in hybrids if you can afford it. Electric I would currently only recommend if you live in a place with a lot of public chargers in the surrounding area
If you take a lot of long trips, but would like some of the benefits of EV's, get an EREV or PHEV. So you can use gas when needed.

How is oil more efficient? The MPGe for electric vehicles is so much higher than ICE bc an electric motor doesn't turn 70% of the fuel into heat.

@@andreycamper5863they have much better mpg then internal combustion cars though

?!
PHEVs and EREVs are better than HEVs.
Agreed. They're way simpler
