Hey Sean, I'm guessing if you rode this 113 times it was at least a decent ride, right? Trying to get a sense how good this really was. I'm sure it was a lot different in 1998 compared to 2007 though

The 113 laps were a mix between both rides. I think I took more rides on Lola as it was the more intense side of the two. Back then the ride was pretty easy to re-ride. The laterals were quite strong and those first generation Gerstlauer trains gave bruises on riders legs because the sides weren't padded and were round. When The Legend opened up at Holiday World, it had the same restraints. It was very notable at Stark Raven Mad that year that riders really disliked the round bars that hit the side of the legs. They were fine for airtime but laters were a different story. The next year, Holiday World had the bars modified to have a flat area for riders legs, making for a much more comfortable experience. Kentucky Kingdom didn't do that with their bars, if I remember correctly. The ride had gotten much rougher and I never saw it with more than a few riders in its later years. Then again, I only visited the park one time when it was Six Flags and that was its opening year for that brand. I never went back until they got Storm Chaser. I am glad I got to ride it so many times when it was in it's prime condition as I know there would be NO way I would have done that in the condition of the last ride I took in 2000.

@@SeanFlaharty Thanks for the info, and that it did in fact use Gerstlauer trains. I thought so, just couldn't find confirmation

@@AirtimeThrills Yep, They were G-trains. I believe the very first wooden coaster to use them. The main reason was because PTC stopped selling their trains to CCI due to payment issues.....or as the story goes. CCI was in need of wooden coaster trains so they hired Gerstlauer to make them. I have a short video coming out soon that I recorded in June of 1998 where I watched Lola test over and over. It opened about a week later if I remember correctly. You can hear us commenting on how the trains were really different looking and that the front of each car had he same looking fronts. In regards to the CCI fiasco, I remember also hearing that Cliff's in New Mexico demanded a PTC train on Rattler, so they got one. I don't remember how that came to be.

Another great one Sean. I did not know that they revamped Twisted Sisters and made a steel coaster on the Lola side. Has it opened yet? 113 times? That is wild~

+Paneeks1960 {Rob/Boston} It hasn't opened to the public yet. It opens at the end of the month I believe. I may be taking my first rides on it in just over a week. Looks incredible!
